Xavier, I wanted to thank you for sharing your advice and insight. I have worked with several other ITSM and development platforms for several years and have decided this is a good time to move into the ServiceNow sphere as an application developer to take advantage of its growth as a leading solution. So far your guidance is proving to be very helpful to me in translating my existing skills to this new framework.
In particular, your suggestion to speed through the training the first time has proven to be particularly helpful to me for quickly seeing what elements of the ServiceNow's approach are similar to that of other platforms, and for "mapping" SN's nomenclature in my mind to concepts from elsewhere.

Thank you for this video. I took on a position at a company and part of my job as a IT Specialist Tier 2 is being a co-admin for our ServiceNow instances. Finished my course and about to take my exam the 26th. Been studying practice tests and have been working in my companies instances for a year. Fingers crossed I pass too! Congrats on yours as well. @@tehczavier as of right now cause I work 2 jobs and trying to cram it all, plus I'm not great at taking test so I may want to practice twice as much as what normal people do. I'm thinking December but I need to talk to my Mentor as well he's been at serviceNow for like 10 years and helming me out

Definitely. And depending on your level of experience with administration (e.g.: Sys Admin, database admin, SharePoint development) you may not need as much time for study. I will say though, it is an advantage to be strong in ITIL 4 prior to taking this course since there are a lot of terms and management practices referenced in ServiceNow.

Respect for this brother I have many years ITIL experience and have used Snow from an ITSM ticketing tool aspect but seeing that the cert route is a great route to go down to become a specialist

The test is not free anymore and I will be taking the CSA test soon. I got some sample tests from Udemy and was not totally happy with the quality of the questions. If you think the Skillcert pro tests were really worth it, I will get those. Appreciate it.

Congrats man 👏🏽 well deserved!! I dig your mindset, very inspirational. Just subscribed, I need driven motivational people like you in my life. I just passed my ITIL exam a few weeks ago. I’m really excited and eager to begin studies for this exam, I want this one bad!! Unfortunately, I already started studying for my CompTIA A+ and I can’t lose all the momentum and progress I’ve made. Gonna grab my A+ and then hone in on the CSA. Heard this one is tough… any recommendations please throw my way 🙏🏽 Btw I’ve been using ServiceNow for almost 4 years now in a hospital setting as a desktop support specialist. Mainly for incident management and resolutions. Nothing crazy in depth though, not sure if this will help me for the exam or not? I’m gonna start to play around with the platform at work now that I have this on my radar lol. Would really appreciate some feedback, lord knows I could use some words of wisdom.
I recommend settling up your own personal developer instance (PDI). That way you can get access to (and test) the administrative functions.
The great thing is that you already have some experience with the platform as a Fulfiller.
I currently taking the instructor led course and have done the on-demand course but your video is inspiring. The big take away from you is to set the date
Man that's awesome. All I can say is that there is a TON of opportunity on the other side of gaining this certification, going back in to practice in your personal instance, and looking for ways to deploy solutions for businesses.
This is for anyone looking into Servicenow . The fundamental class is not enough, I’m still trying to find out more information. I’m going over the product docs now
Thank you for sharing this. I came to the same conclusion after taking a practice test and coming across new terms that I had never seen.
IMO if you spend hrs and hrs watching the self study videos and doing the labs (I spent about a week, in amongst other things going on) you won't pass unless you have a ton of experience with the platform.
I spent another 2 or 3 days doing practice exams- THEN I passed. It only took me 35 mins to finish the exam.
There were TONS of questions in practice exams AND the real exams that I don't recall from the study materials, the subjects may well have been in there. but I don't remember seeing that stuff
In short, you have to do the class and labs AND do a lot of exam prep. I paid the $20 for the skillcertpro practice exams (which are packed full of typos and mistakes and bad english) and it was totally worth it.
As someone who has taught the ITIL classes for 15 years I don't think ITIL cert will help much; just make sure you know what SLA/OLA/UC are, that was the only freebie reference I saw.

1. Yes you will need an external camera. The proctor will need to see your screen (via screen recording), as well as your side view which also captures your screen and your hands.
2. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with how to install Sentinel on Mac. However, you can try reaching out to the tech support team at Sentinel.

Yes I did both as well as mock exams.
I have a question I purchased the practice test form SkillCertPro and I took a couple practice test where do I view the explanations for the answers I got wrong?

I would reach out to the support team via chat. I just went through the exams on my end as well, and I no longer see the explanations showing.
I'm not sure what may have changed. Hopefully, it's just a bug that they can sort out.

I actually think that the exam and the exam prep materials are more helpful now than when I took it.
So you did the self-paced course? Any knowledge on the 2400.00 3 day course?
Yes I took the on-demand self paced course and I purchasd an exam prep course. However, looking at the materials that ServiceNow currently offers, I think the self-paced content is enough as long as you take the time to review the documentation.
I'm not aware of the 2400 3-day course, but for that price, I imagine they do a good job of preparing each student.

I wasn't aware that ServiceNow had ebooks.
But to answer your question, no I just used the Fundamentals course modules and them used a supplemental set of exam questions to cram.

Go to NowLearning and search "System Administrator Path". You will automatically be routed to a page that has the full learning path--all the courses and knowledge articles.
Helpful advice but I'm not even able to claim my free voucher. It's saying pre-requisites are required. I've linked my account, read thru the policy, etc. but am having trouble for the last couple of days getting thru this step. Which means I'm not even able to register for the exam.

Is the cert enough for an entry level system admin job?
In my opinion, yes; however I can't say for sure.
A lot of companies that write 'entry-level' job descriptions, still want you to have multiple years of experience.
However, I think what if you get familiar with the platform beyond the certification, and use your personal instance to start building out workflows, user tables, catalog requests, etc.
I just passed today. Udemy test really helped me.

Forgive me for responding late to this comment. I deleted the quiz soon after making it because the forms app in Google lagged too much when I went back to review some of the work.
I recommend using the paid option that I mentioned to help you better prepare for the exam.
Additionally, the Tokyo version is coming out soon and the notes that I had will not cover the questions related to that version.

I'm sorry to hear that. But you can still sign up with Now Learning and also download your own personal instance of ServiceNow to get practice using the platform.

I completely misunderstood your question the first time. The answer to your question is "yes". You can take the course without any prior knowledge of ServiceNow.
And the course will cover just about everything that you need to pass the exam.

Ok I have seen the link to the practice exams. Are you sure those practices helped you? Which version of Servicenow did you seat for your csa? I bought the skillcertpro stuff but dear most of them are for old versions of Servicenow and they have so many badly formulated questions……. They said the practices are for Tokyo but it is not true.
How much is a start for CSA?

2. Exam = $500
3. Time = Up to 100 hours depending on your technical background.
