Craving that "fast food" or diner-style burger? The Classic Smashed Burger fits the bill. Ooey gooey cheese is practically dripping off this smashed burger with toasted bun. Make this special sauce or top it with anything you like!
    INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 pounds Certified Angus Beef ® ground beef, 80/20 lean
    1/2 cup mayonnaise
    1 tablespoon yellow mustard
    1 tablespoon grated yellow onion
    2 teaspoons hot sauce
    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    4 white hamburger buns
    2 tablespoons butter, room temperature
    1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
    1/2 teaspoon pepper
    4 slices cheddar cheese
    2 cups shredded iceburg lettuce
    8 slices vine-ripe tomatoes

i dont get the point of adding sauce before you turn it.
you just make the meat boil, which causes you to lose flavor from what could be a better brown. even on your first side without the sauce, the brown looks a little bit light, in my opinion.

Thanks for your comment! I appreciate your perspective. The sauce I use contains grated onion, which adds a rich caramelized flavor. Combined with mustard and mayonnaise, it enhances the overall taste of the meat. I hope you'll give it a try!
