Love movies about the history of basketball
On my way to see Sweetwater right now. Not surprised that Sweetwater is released on the weekend of the 76th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking baseball's color barrier and the start of the NBA playoffs. No one really knows the story of Nat "Sweetwater" Clifton.
As for someone who is into African Black history and loves basketball and is a new your Knicks fan I definitely would like to see this film 🎥🙏🏾
Nobody cares knee grow.
Looks like a lit film
If you truly understood "African Black History," you'd know that events like this helped to further destroy the "African Black" American community.
Wow, I was born in New York City, was even a Knick fan and I never heard about this player before.
Because you are not a true bball fan.. especially old school
@@Sense71 my older friends who loved basketball never mentioned about him either.
I love they are telling his story. Not many know though that the first non-white person to enter pro basketball (now the NBA) was a Japanese-American from Ogden Utah - Wat Misaka. He was THE FIRST non-white to be drafted, signed and play in pro basketball and it was for the New York Nick's.
What's your point of emphasizing "THE FIRST"? Instead of providing a simple "history lesson", you present it in a condescending way doubling down on the point you're driving home. It's quiet unnecessary when this movie is about the history of a BLACK MAN in the NBA.
Shoutout to the legend Sweetwater and all those who played in Chuck Taylors or worse.
LOOKS LIKE A WINNER
Looks good
Does the NBA have awards named for Nat Clifton, Earl Lloyd, and Chuck Cooper?
So after AIR we get Sweetwater....I like the taste of both of em
It can of looks like the old movie glory road is this movie out o really
at this point idk whether Robert Ri'chard is an actor or a basketball player
Shown in Theaters with:
Creed III
I love these old racial basketball movies like Glory Road.
White coach: “I have the COURAGE to start you 5 black, hyper-athletic basketball savants against these all white teams of normal shlubs…and you know what boys…I think we just might win…”
In retrospect it’s pretty hilarious.
Right! The "razzle dazzle" comment took me out! 😂
Not only is the man BEATING them at the game, he's tap dancing while he does it! #nothanks LOL!
@@BearingMySeoul I can't wait to see it with my mom today looks excellent prefer true life stories with positive messages over other films like horror or superhero movies that have been overdone to the point of nauseam what is sad how movie critics will tear an Indy film like sweetwater apart in reviews but rate garbage throwaway films like John wick and the popes exorcist rave reviews and high scores tells ya where the world is going to hell in a hand basket.
Did he just do a backboard ally oop to himself? Wtf. Nobody could do that in the 50s. Unreal.
I’m sorry but this movie would have been a hit back in like 2018 but with the new movie air out this movie will flip heavily and actually allready has
Jeremy Piven should not be allowed to keep making movies. He was accused of sexual assault, harassment, and misconduct by eight women in 2017 and 2018. They stated his predatory behavior included grabbing woman’s genitals without consent, exposing his genitals, forcing himself, threatening and masturbating on women. His accusers haven’t forgotten about the traumas Piven inflicted. Three women who came forward with allegations told Rolling Stone they’re disappointed Piven denied accountability and took a five-year hiatus from the industry in hopes that he could resurface without ever apologizing or acknowledging his past wrongdoings.
