Pick manufacturers don't need to lie to us about how long picks last. We already lose them enough to keep them in business :)

Hello Anthony. Great review. I tried both the 2.00 mm and the 3.00 mm and prefer the 3.00. More comfortable to hold, easier on the wrist when fast/sweep picking and requires much less force.

Hey sam. Interesting points about the 3mm. I’ll have try them at some point. Currently having plenty of fun with the 2mm though. Thanks for watching dude! 🎸🤘🏻🔥

Great Review. Love the feel of both the Flow and Flow Gloss 2.0mm picks but have since switched to the Flow 1.5mm or the Ultex Jazz III XL to minimize chirp, although I still dabble with Delrin or Tortex standard shapes to get less of that sound, but as you point out, The Flow and the Jazz shapes are so comfortable for my attempts at technical style playing.

If you don't like "chirp" you should use Nylon or try the Ibanez Elastomer picks.

I'm going to get few of these today. I love the red Petrucci Flow which seems similar. Can't wait to test these!

As a petrucci flow user I need to try these glossy ones. I could hear the snappy sound of them.

I’m enjoying the 2mm, but may consider the 3mm in future. Generally speaking I think 2mm is the right gauge for me. When yours arrive, do let me know how you get on pal. Thanks for watching and engaging. All the best. 🤘🏻🔥🎸

@@anthonygeorgeguitar , Stoked to get a reply from you :) I came from using the Tortex Jazz 3 XL 1.5, then experimented with the Jazz 3 Carbon Fiber Max Grip. The max grip was too small for me though I think I got used to it since I am not liking the way the Tortex Jazz 3 XL feels now . I am now using the Flow 2mm John Petrucci as my first Flow pick which arrived today and I am really liking it. But I am anxiously waiting for the Flow Gloss to arrive. I have this feeling that will like the Gloss better since I am not really a fan of signature series gear. I love DT and JP but I want something that's not attached to any artist's name :) I will let you know my thoughts on it after it arrives and use it for a fair amount of guitar playing time :) Cheers!

Did you true Blue Chip picks already? They really almost do not wear at all.
I use the big triangel ones which give you basically 3 picks in one. After more then a year I noticed a little wear so I just use the next tip.
So, in my case (playing a lot) it wil last more the 3 years!
They do chirp a bit, like almost every stiff pick which are made of hard material.

I’ve heard good things about these but haven’t tried one yet no. Need to add them to my list. You never know, as my channel grows they might just send me one to try haha. Thanks for watching. Anthony🤘🏻🔥🎸

The bevel on gloss pick its more agressive , results in a snapier tone the contact with the string its less than standard flow does. Are you still using them after 2 years? I use 3 mm gloss flow now.
Very good video and infos, thank you.

I immediately wondered what.the big differences were between this and a Big Stubby...they seem quite similar. I'm back to 1.5 Delrins again. I still use Ultex but not as much these days.

    • @anthonygeorgeguitar
      @anthonygeorgeguitar  Před 3 lety +2

Hi Phil. These are very similar to big stubby in feel. But in my opinion the flow geometry is much better for speed playing. I definitely feel the flow gloss has less chirp than a standard flow too. Super comfy, fast, and versatile. Great pick. I’ll burn through the 12 I’ve got before trying something new I think. I have plenty of other picks to be reviewing at some point, the trouble I have is finding time to push out the content! Thanks as always for your support, for watching and engaging. It’s massively appreciated 🤘🏻🎸🔥.

I think thicker pick generally last longer than thin one. I prefer to use .88. Even if I use Dunlop flow, it will be blunt after one year.

One year! Mine are knackered after two weeks man! But for me that is pretty good going. A tortex is dead for me after a couple days! Thanks for watching man 👊🏻🎸🤘🏻🔥

Shit, one year? I wear off the tips of 0.73mm Tortex Flow picks so that they look like standard picks within a few days, and I don't even play that much. The Ultex Flow picks aren't all that much sturdier in my experience, though. A year? WTF?

Been using the white XL Jazz 3 1.5 mil for a while but it's quite a dark tone. Thinking of giving these a try for a brighter thwacking tone. Perhaps a lighter gauge as I tend to pick hard.
