Starting from the Grey Mares Tail car park in the village of Kinlochleven.Taking in the Munro Am Bodach which is a Munro on the ''Ring of Steall'' route.
Fantastic Andy😍👍.What a cracking route mate..Top video..Really enjoyed it mate..You can’t beat those conditions 😍..Amazing views as well . Cheers Robert
Thanks Donny, lots of good hiking from Kinlochleven.I done this mountain before as it's one of the munros on the Ring of Steall route from Glen Nevis.😀👍
Over 7 hours out there for this one.Canny believe people can go out and do the whole of the Ring of Steall in conditions like that.😱 1 was enuff for me,lol.
Its amazing how after a certain height its a different world, love the winter hillwalking 😍 You were lucky with the weather , a wee bit further west and no sun by the looks of it.. Did you hike up without crampons and came down with them on ?
Hi, yeah it's always amazing to reach the snowline and ur hike changes. The clouds on the west never really opened up for me all day.On ascent it was ok for me to kick steps and use my poles.Just took the precaution of putting on the crampons and having ice axe out back down the ridge to the cairn at the Bealach.😀👍
Thanks Kev.Turned out a lot better than I thought it would be.Got rained on for 15 mins on the way up but cleared after that.Thought I would have bumped into someone hardcore doing the Ring of Steall 🤣 but not even any tracks bar a solo pair from a previous day.😀
Nice one Andy, another class vid.👍 were the photos from your phone as there belters.👍 What was your total time doing this one.? You’re getting them in before you start back work.😂😂
Thanks Frank.😀👍 Photos were from my phone.Seems to cope no bad when the light isn't too good at times.I was over 7 hours with this one ,got back to the car as if was getting dark.Wasn't in any rush.Got 4 really good days in over the festive period.Considering how the weather looked as if it was constantly pishing down ,i'm really pleased with that.Back to work this morning after 2 weeks off.😱😱
Thanks Billy.Usually done as part of the Ring of Steall 4 Munros route,I had always wanted to see the ridge in snow.Taking this route up from Kinlochleven gets me onto the ridge to do just the 1 which is in the centre of the route. No real difficulties, snow a bit soft in patches with knee deep wading but a lot more firmer nearing summit.😀👍
Thanks Jamie.Really got lucky this day with conditions better than the forecast. The Mamores are stunning in winter.Really surprised I never bumped into anyone or seen fresh tracks.😀👍
Fantastic views great weather love the mamores
Great set of mountains Andrew.Felt a bit strange not to meet anyone up there and only a few tracks from previous days.😀
That is quite the amazing hike in an equally amazing area...WOW!! Absolutely spectacular views!! Bruce and Otis
Thanks Bruce, great day out. What a view I got when I finally made it onto the ridge to see the other side.😎😎👍
