    I understand these cars were sold as basement bargains in the UK when they were new - like anywhere in Western Europe.
    They were bought because they were cheap, most weren't looked after well or liked.
    Buying, fixing up and re-selling these might work better in Eastern Europe, where people remember them as aspirational cars of yeasteryear.

    • @user-oe1mb9hu9i
      @user-oe1mb9hu9i Před 4 měsíci +1

      It's such a pity that because a car is cheap, the UK market regard it as "disposable" and a piece of shite, until they all but disappear from the roads and then everybody wants one. Pretty childish behaviour that and VERY indicative of the UK.

    • @railtrolley
      @railtrolley Před 3 měsíci

      That the program example is a LHD model would have helped sell it in Eastern Europe. Shipping costs might be a factor though.

      For a car in that price bracket, it would only make sense if you had to go there anyway.
      Maybe, they'll restore an old Tatra one day... that would justify shipping the car, but that would be a different order of magnitude in financial exposure and complexity of part sourcing.

    I woulda used some beige cloth (or whatever colour the roof was) for those inner C-pillar covers. They often do paint touch-ups with a spray can and polish, why didn't they do that to the awkward patch?

    • @gitesinsunnyfrance

      Yep. They saw the 5 when they purchased the Skoda, so when they were after a cheap french car they went back to the guy.

    Guys in theory your system is good, the negative side of this plan is , a lot of work and effort is put into a project with not much return. Your overhead costs, rent electricity wages? Insurance etc is cutting it superfine. I think you need to increase your purchase limit sufficient to yield a better profit. With the figures you guys are playing with , i can’t see how you are surviving. You need to also teach yourself how to check parts rather than just buy replacements. But i suppose as long as you’re enjoying the challenge, good luck guys good luck

      Thats true. Their concept is doubling their investment, but i havent seen an episode were they do that. Often they just sell to whatever price a buyier wants to give....sometimes earning 400 pund for a weeks work
