- Join me on the 2nd day of The Long Ride 2016. As a group we are riding from Brisbane QLD to Margaret River W.A. We travel over 4½ thousand kms on the way over and this is just the beginning. This day we travel from Moree to Nyngan a distance of 479kms.
Riding a 2007 DL650 V-Strom.

I agree about traveling in a group...it helps to travel with someone who has similar tendencies, like stopping to look at places, spontaneously taking off in another direction, among other things. I like the cruise control you've got. That was quite the ride you were on! Enjoyed it!
Oh the ride continues......... I think there is still another 20 or so days to edit lol :-) and yep, spot on about teaming up with another to enjoy the ride, I end up riding with a guy that was very happy to stop and look and explore. The Kaoko throttle lock was a dream, really made it easy on the wrist!
Right now I have an array of dishes in the kitchen sink...
Oh no, stop ! Stop ! So glad you turned back to have a look at Hickeys falls, it's one of my haunts...
ahhh have you seen them flowing?? they look like they would be pretty cool to see with the creek being so close.
Andy Pandy Motovlogs
Yes, the falls haven't flowed all that heavy when I've been there but when it does the water is pristine, they'd be impressive right now with the rains that have gone thru central NSW lately... It's also a damp rest area as it doesn't get much sun & I wouldn't want to stop over night there when it's raining... It's a great spot when it's hot tho...
That's a great way to do it. Explore on your own during the day and group up in the evenings for some company and fun. Good call!
Yeah, it really worked out well, I did get to pair up with a guy that was more than happy to stop of and take detours, made it all the better to share the adventure.
Great video thanks for sharing your trip
Looking forward to the next day
Cheers mate, thanks for watching!!
I don't mind riding in a group, as long as they do exactly what I want. lol.
A bit of both on such a long trip would be good.
Can't wait for the rest of the trip.
Yeah, it ended up being a bit of both, during the empty boring parts I tagged along with a few others.
That throttle lock thing looks interesting , i have an omni-cruise but on my recent trip i didn't use it once! haha . Funny to see places n your video that i've seen this year. You definitely got alot more and better footage of everything. The part when you saw a sign and couldn't decide whether to go look or not and then you did anyway had me laughing , i know that feeling. Cheers
yeah, I was going through the same thing with all the instagram shots :-) I was just there!!!! hahahhaa Mate, the throttle lock was great, the Nullarbor saw it get a flogging!! :-)
Great ride, loved the minions, lol! Now you guys have some crazy names for towns! Haha! It's great to just get out and explore, you never know what you may find! :)
oh yeah, there are some whacked out names over here that is true!!! :-) The minions were a treat, just the thing to break the monotony of that road :-)
I can relate to your wish to explore away from the group. I do prefer that too - although it can work well with 3 or 4 with SENAs on... "Let's go look at that..."
Amazing small array - and you got to see it move too!!
Aha! The other end of the Oxley!!
That's very like Apsley Falls when Toobi and I saw it - no water - river running underground. I went back there a few weeks ago and it was thundering after the recent inland rains!!
Bargain! They just closed the IGA here... when I was at the SES we all used to get those great lunches there :(
Such an adventure - great stuff mate!
Thanks mate!! yeah, I certainly hit up the telescopes at the right time :-) The IGA special is such an amazing deal, I was shocked that I was the only one doing it ??? Was a shame about the falls, would have been great to see them flowing.
Nice way to do a group ride. Lay back and do your own thing. Well done. Liked the telescope array.
cheers mate, yeahchilling out doing my own thing for a bit really got me to see more than most of the others, it worked out well :-)
Will definitely use the IGA meal tip. That's a bargain mate. Think ya made the right call rolling on ya own for a bit. Thanks for sharing Andy.
Yeah mate, save a buck or 2 and get a much better meal :-) Oh hell yeah, I was lucky for a few days further on to have a guy that was pretty happy with just stopping to see things but on the whole I think traveling during the day by myself and meeting up in the evenings for a drink or 2 and a chat about the day :-)
So happy, with all them things.
there were many things to see....... bloody hard to edit though, a lot happened and a whole lot of nothing happened, I just cant seem to get them shorter than the 10 mins :-(
I reckon you made the right choice by breaking away from the pack mate. You got to see some cool stuff along the way that they didn't, yet still got to film them riding past. Well done!
I've been to "The Dish" at Parkes a few times, but never the ones at Narrabri. I keep meaning to though.
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more. Bring it on!
Yeah, "The Dish" is very much more set up for tourism these days but is a great place to visit, soo much more information from Parkes. The Narrabri dishes seem to be more operational hence not so much information about them but still very interesting :-) Oh I most certainly made the right choice to go it alone for most of the trip. I ended up riding with a guy for a few days that was more than willing to stop and see the sites which made the traveling really good.
Nice day two. Looks like you had a good mix of solo and group exploring. Now to wait another month for day three :)
hahahaha hopefully not :-) Yeah, it was good getting away from the herd so to speak.
There's a radio telescope array not far from the observatory in my latest vid, but there was unfortunately no access. Very cool trip, man. Looks like Ernie had fun. LOL.
oh Ernie had a blast mate!! Just wait till you see the places he got to....... I just hope that I get more motivated so you all don't have to wait so long for them :-)
I enjoy them shorter then longer.
I agree, but trying to get about 10 hours of footage into such a short vis would be almost impossible :-( I am trying though!! Cheers for watching, and I appreciate the feedback :-)
Riding in a group is a mixed blessing. It good to do a little solo adventure, mix it up a bit.
Yeah, over the really boring parts I joined in with groups but I generally hit up with one or two others for most of the trip, was good that they had a like minded vision of the journey!!
Andy Pandy Motovlogs ;>)
yeah sometimes it's good to break away from the pack so you can free wheel and do your own thing
Most certainly!! I got to see a lot more than most of the guys on the ride :-)
Nice mate. I agree with the travelling by yourself thing sometimes hey.
yeah, it really let me see more than most!!
Sounds like a super good idea to go off to do your thing man. How else would you have been able to take these pictures and explore like this! An epic journey man. I bet those falls would've been spectacular in the rainy season.
yep, that was what I was thinking...... in a few vids later I berate myself for not sticking to that idea lol. The falls would have been awesome with some water but even without it was a peaceful place to have a break and stretch the legs.
fun man
it really was :-)
Awesome good time ^^ 479 kms o.o!
This was one of the more normal legs :-) The long ones come later hahahah I had days where I covered over 1000 kms straight lol It was an awesome trip, and something I am soo glad I did!! Thanks for watching mate!!!
great video
Cheers mate!!
Andy Pandy Motovlogs good to bee on your own sometimes when you travling in groups...
it most certainly was..... I really welcomed being able to just split off and go see things.
Dude its bad Ass
Cheers mate!! Glad you enjoy it!!
Great video buddy I enjoyed. Ill have too check out day 1 keep them up.
Cheers mate!! Hope you like them, only about 20 or so days left of the trip to edit hahahaha oh the pain lol
Dam editting must be hell
Thanks for sharing
I would think it would be harder if I tried to do this quickly, but being the lazy ass that I am it isn't so bad, only down side is doing 2 vids for every release....... there are extras with a hidden link :-)
Ok
