I appreciate the little nod to the film's subject matter by having the footage of the midi clip playing in reverse
finally someone noticed it ❤️😂
@@ThomannSynthesizers haha i literally went through the comments to see whether someone else had pointed it out, as it tripped me up as i was trying to recreate the pattern
Bro I️ only noticed because of this comment.
I know Im randomly asking but does any of you know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow forgot my login password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Winston Jamir instablaster ;)
This changed my life
haha, for the better i hope 😂 best, felix
I'm happy I saw this as an ad.
0:30 Waaaaait a second, that's basically Bleed by Meshuggah :D
Can’t un-hear.
Just waiting for the big scream to come in
Made the sound yesterday, ready to watch this tutorial now
I knew that somebody will try to remake Goransson's sound and post it on CZcams. Great job!
The lighting tho
The quality of this video is freaking GREAT ! Your work is too, thank you !
Aus Zufall gefunden, unglaublich! Danke für diesen Einblick die Arbeit in Video ist auch sehr gelungen, die Umsetzung mit dem Synthesizer wirklich beeindruckend, Danke!
Very awesome, always loved that synth motif of Tenet - that shit hits real futuristic, unsettling and uncertain. Love it, and love your recreation. Subscribed! ⚡🎶👊🏾
Incredible. Sounds amazing in headphones.
Loved this! Nice to see someone so passionate about sound design. Thanks.
Very cool break down. 👍🏽
thx 🙏
This was really helpful and also sounds great. Thanks!
Beautiful work!
Just discovered this, amazing and inspiring tutorial, thank you for that.
literally my favourite video ever created thank you so much
that is some very nice feedback. thx ❤️
Awesome! You have much talent
Can’t wait until the Blu-ray so I can see behind the scenes on developing the score
Don't quote me on this but I've heard Ludwig Göransson had to collect each and everyone's sound through online because of Covid and he had to piece it together.
Great deconstruction! Haven’t seen the movie but now I want to!
awesome video and sound!
That's awesome, i've been playing around with my new toy Xfer serum and this helps a lot!
Great video!
Fantastique...thank you
This is great!
Thank you for the help!!!
Once more, nicely done, Felix :-)
Thx, glad you enjoyed it 🙏 / Felix
Fantastic!
Cool video! My Matriarch Dark should be in this week!!
Love that bass
Great reconstruction, The Arturia minibrute 2S has the triplet option hidden under the option/gate function... et voila ;-)
Cool zoom on creating sound and layers, inspiring \0/
Wow, nice one. Thanks!
I don't know who you are and how I landed here but this is freaking awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it. Best, Felix 🙏
Okay
Now this was fantastic 😊👍
great video, thanks!!
after fiddling with serum, i can understand what you were doing :D and i loved it entirely!!! i enjoyed this entirely hahhaa. i hope you try out "rainy night in tallin". even though you mentioned you're not going to try out a specific track, but im requesting as the main arp in that has two harmonics in which only one can be heard at a time. it sounds like you're playing the arp from "down to up" on the piano roll and "up to down" on the piano roll in terms of arp notes. please do check out ludwig's breakdown on "palindromic" meaning of that particular track.
yet you can only hear "one" of them at a time. like if u concentrate only on one, you'll hear that alone.
Saw this as an ad, so glad I watched.
Thank you for this! A film score recreation is really nice
This was awesome. I’m really thinking about buying a moog matriarch.
You could also consider the Behringer Model D. It's an affordable copy of the Minimoog which sounds pretty awesome and has some little extras compared to the original Minimoog
Great work. Also love the aphex twin saw image in the background of your studio space
It‘s the 12“ version of Selected Ambient Works 85-92. Stil my favorite record of his ✌️ Best, Felix
@@ThomannSynthesizers I agree.
This channel is pure gold
Thanks, glad you enjoy our stuff
No idea what you're doing with those dials but it sounds excellent.
Its actually quite simple. Hes got two oscillators playing the same notes except one is detuned. Running them both through the same filter and instead of modulating the cutoff as usual, he instead modulates the envelope amount and pitch wheel. When he modulates the envelope amount, instead of hearing more frequencies the sound actually "plucks" from higher and higher frequencies while the cutoff value remains the same.
Voyage
@@Isothrill I understood some of those words.
@@tomwaller8357 yeah I followed him until he said, "Its".
He's doing that DJ thing where they pretend like they are tweaking the nobs and that makes the girls go wild.
I tried to assign that triplet to a CC when i recreated this and it was ridiculous hahahahaha. Fantastic tutorial sir👍
Great tutorial
thx ❤️
Holy shit that sounds nice. Good job; Ludwig killed it with this sound.
You are superb . . I know nothing about music composition but I watch your video till the end I love You are superb I really Enjoy . . Thank you
This is awesome, does Felix publish his music? I always love what he comes up with
That soundtrack was the balls! As in great!
Yes, really enhanced the impact of the film immensely! Best, Felix
You can use the preset 3 "Trancy" on a microfreak to get that sound.
This is amazing! Would you mind sharing a .wav sample of that epic arp please? I would love to sample it in my own projects
Great video. Can anyone tell me what Envelope Amount does to the filter? Is it just changing the 'volume' of the Attack?
I just published on my channel my own attempt at doing this, using the Korg Volca Bass
Freaking epic
how do you get the triplet rhythm?
Its amazing! Would you share the project file or at least some wav file?
Love how your midi clip in Ableton reversed :D
Or maybe everything else is?
gerne mehr solcher tutorials! könntest in zukunft etwas genauer darauf eingehen wie du was eingestellt hast bei 2:40 (sieht man nicht so gut). video ist auch sehr gut gemacht.
Could you do a tutorial on how the bass sounds are made in the soundtrack?
i only see the mid of the film, but i think bass sound are detuned 1 semitone in her lenght, i mean start witn one tone and finish one semitone down. And problably are the typical 2 saws detuned in opossite direction.
Nice. Tried this with my Matriarch and gave up and went to Omnisphere instead 😂 btw sounds like the composer used a few presets from Gaikaiju for Omnisphere which came out a year before Tenet - and that soundbank was inspired by earlier Hans Zimmer sounds.
Best ad I've ever seen
Sounds like playing an electric rubber band, imo
Good job recreating it!
Finally someone pronounced it correctly: Moog (like Vogue)
Is that something you come across often? Because I eventually got out of the habit of saying "moog" by hearing it pronounced correctly so often.
Adam Baldwin That’s funny. Everytime I visit the USA, I hear fellow musicians talking about their Moog (like Luke) synths 😅
I say “Mog” 😎
Moog - rhymes with Luge :-)
My very first video regarding Electronic music. Thanks to Ludwig Göransson for introducing this to me :)
You could do that with the matriarch inbuilt sequencer rather than midi?
Can you make it with just DirtyWave M8 Tracker? How about Teenage Engineering OP-Z and OP-1 Field?
If you don't use the MIDI information of the DAW, can you create such a sequence pattern using only Moog Matriarch?or How?Thx~
Question: what was your favorite song from the film?
I think posterity must be my favorite. Really intense journey
This is great more film scores
Yes, good idea. we might cover some more film scores in the future
@@ThomannSynthesizers Maybe some Trent Raznor & Atticus Ross
When u said u did the drums on mono, how its done ? i dont really know when im makin asound in mono or stereo, can u help me ?
Sure, no problem. First you need to know that a Stereo signal is basically nothing else but two mono signals (one left & one right). So when you are listening to music on a stereo system, each of the speakers plays a different mono signal creating the illusion of 3dimensionality. You can "make something mono" with various hardware or software tools. In Ableton for example it's called "utility". It allows you to choose between 'stereo', 'right only', 'left only' or various gradations of "width" where '100%' is the normal stereo signal '200%' means only the stereo content and '0%' means only the mono content. Hope this helps.
Best, Felix
@@ThomannSynthesizers Ty Felix.
yes yes yes yes yes
I wonder if you could do a video using a 'west coast' synth, because they achieve the 'percussiveness' almost naturally. CMIIW though.
Wich camera do use for this video?!??
It’s the Sony A7s II. But I‘d say the images are 45% a result of the lighting, 45% a result of the lens and only 10% due to the camera. Best, Felix
Any idea why the Envelope Amount retains the percussion when the Cutoff does not?
Because in this particular case the fast attack and short decay time of the filter envelope open the filter only for a short amount of time, resulting in a short burst of high frequency content, which is the nature of most transients and percussive / drum sounds.
What amp do you use? 😊
For this video everything went through an external soundcard (Motu828) right into Ableton Live. Best, Felix
Question: which was better, the movie or the soundtrack?
soundtrack - for sure! ;)
noice
Why this song backwards?
This tutorial is a whole live set 😂
Replicating Famous SOUNDS ! Good marketing and PR move! Please do more!
does anyone has the midi for the MOOG sound ?
simply pause the video at 2:03min. you can recreate it from there. its all the same note and it would works with any note you like
Can I get an instrumental version of this video
I‘m not planning to release it separately, but you can grab the part from the end with a youtube downloader I guess :D Best, Felix
I come to your country u will teach for me ? I love music making but I know basic of all instruments.
I was here tomorrow
lol how can you play abletons midi backwards????
it is like When oliver onions meets vangelis spiral...................
Meshuggahs bleed
True haha
I was looking for this comment.
Can someone post a tutorial on turning knobs, please?
they used to burn people at the stake for this level of sorcery
Cool but his performance makes me nervous somehow. Well its music. don't have to look. ;-)
who so this dude?
are you having a stroke?
you so know who so this dude?
@@iamvancore no i honestly don’t who he is i ain’t been on thomann since sherlock holmes was presenting it
@@wirly- nope?
@@barrnycharlton8951 good to know! Your syntax made me worried, you see ^^
Good tutorial and the result sounds good on its own, but it's quite far from the original, TBH.
