  • I'm documenting our journey as we start our own event rental business from scratch in 2021.
    Everyone has their opinions on wood vs. plastic, and this video goes over my views on both. I think they both have their place & use, it's a matter of what your customer needs are, what type of service you're selling, and what kind of company you want to have.

    The plastic tables for will call also are going to show dirt more. you’ll have to wash them more. So good idea to charge more.

    We use plastic tables, just like u said, throw on a linen scratches and stains are gone. Easier to wash, easier to move, sturdy af. We've put hundreds of lbs on them.

    You certainly put out a lot of money on your equipment!
    Impressive!

      We did start with an initial investment with long-term returns in mind. One could build slowly if they didn't have initial capital. But an up front investment definitely helps skip a few years of growth from bootstrapping it.

    Wood tables is definitely best way to go and can't go wrong with PS. Especially those space saving rounds. Best thing to have from the start and stick with, harder to switch over. Little surprised you went with those chair racks and not 4 wheel furniture dollies would like to see how those workout

      I might regret it later (full disclosure). I figured wheels are easier to manage with a handle and since I'm not intending on doing too many offroad type situations, hoping these will be simpler. But I am already contemplating getting some of those to use with a dual axle dolly if we see enough deliveries on grass or dirt.

      Sticker mule 2x3" holographic stickers.
      We lost too many pop-ups in wind since this video. So we no longer rent them.

    It sounds like your not big in plastic tables. But for someone just getting started with a rental business. Do you think it’s ok to start out with plastic for backyard parties? Thanks for the video btw!

    • @marvinsquest1
      @marvinsquest1  Před 2 lety +1

      A lot of people do very well with plastic - (specifically commercial grade), and we've even had some customers want it specifically. I don't think there's ever a 100% right for me is right for everyone. For the kind of higher end corporate event company we're trying to be, it doesn't fit with our model.

    Who did u get pop up tent from?

    • @marvinsquest1
      @marvinsquest1  Před rokem

      Amazon. Eurmax. However, we just stopped carrying pop-ups after losing another one in wind. We are going to stick with high peaks for 10x10 and 10x20
