This was always one of my favorite exchanges I'm the movie. It's like he could tell something from the way he said "no, Sir. Yes, sir" that lead him to believe he was in the service
This scene gives me flashbacks of the 6'8", at least, tall Polish security guard at Krakow International Airport. Damn, that guy could chill Satan's soul.
is this the border patrol agent who let a pickup truck full of heroin bricks with just a tarp covering it across the border? the probablility of that make this whole scene hilarious.
A veteran would not pronounce it Nam. It was pronounced Nom. Ironically, the only people I’ve heard pronounce it Nam were LBJ, John McCain, and a host of non vets portraying vets, such as Don Johnson in Miami Vice. There is no such thing as the 12th Infantry Battalion. There was a 12th Infantry Regiment, part of the 199th Light Infantry Brigade. And the 12th Cavalry, part of the 1st Cavalry. But a vet would reply by division such as 1st Cav or 1st Marines, or 2nd of the 7th, which was the 2nd Battalion of the 7th Cavalry Regiment, rather than how this dialogue was written.
Holy shit man, it's just a movie.. you sound like the Comic Book Guy arguing about some who-gives-a-shit detail in some rare issue of a forgotten second tier villain.
livardo you sound like a gamer completely ignorant of reality. There’s a reason Dale Dye has been so successful as an advisor to military filmmaking......because 99.5% of them never served! Go watch some John Wayne movies and then realize he never served in the military.
Something always pulls me back to this perfect scene.
So simple but utterly perfect....
It’s the longing for simple, traditional values - those values that once made this country great
I was just thinking of it randomly and had to come here and watch it again...
Good acting,script and directing
here I am, back again
The respect here is real
Border Patrol Officer was most likely a veteran himself
Or a close relative was
Probably Korea
Or you know, just an actor
ya think?
@@keoncobbs3025 lol how very observant you are
One of the best scenes of the movie. The actor who played the Border Patrol Agent was fantastic.
Grande A acting.
One of the best scenes ever
The mutual respect is amazing
I would have smiled and nodded..like "dude we're on the same side, we're awesome". I did the army.
He speaks just like a drill sergeant. I'm sure he was in the service himself and greatly respected anyone who served 2 tours in Vietnam
"I dunno...American citizens?"
"SOME American citizens."
"And who do you think decides?"
Dom Cruz "That'd be you I recon..."
@@GuaranteedEtern "That is correct. HOW do I decide?"

Turn all immigration issues over to the purview, implementation and full authority of this Man.

Who?
I recorded this movie and re-watched it for the 100th time. Realized something was missing, they had cut out this scene. Unbelievable.
@Thomas Paine good qoute..."friendo" lol
My first day in the fire house( Dec 7, 1979 ) my captain took me in the office and talked to me just like that me just like that !
Goosebumps all over my body
Awesome movie
This movie is a masterpiece, every bit of it is a work of art !!!
Love this scene every time
Good scene but Brolin looks too healthy for a badly wounded guy who just ran away from hospital to try to save his wife from anton.
Priceless scene
All the actors in these small little bit parts are perfect for the characters..i guess it’s no surprise from the Cohen brothers though
I love this scene
Since it’s set in 1980, he’s gotta be a WWII veteran or Korean War at least.

the mexicans said they were vietnam veterans he had to let them through lol
It happens every day!.. just pay the toll
SEE THAT!
Its a good scene because we have to respect our veterans even the oficcer of law
Nam
Dude c’mon
I'm looking for the shopping scene.. like "I only wear whites" anyone ?

Face Off Platoon.
