I lost it when they gifted the title to his son. Not a replica. Not a back up. But the actual belt Brodie carried. Class act from aew to do that while also retiring that design.
Especially considering it's only been an active belt for around six months.
I agree that was a beautiful moment giving the title to him not a replica
I couldn't hold it in at this moment either
What Brodie said to Cody after dumping the broken fragments of the unfinished belt over him now has new meaning.." That belt's yours. This one, Cody, IS...MINE!"
Tony Khan has seriously went above & beyond for this tribute, like Brodie went above & beyond for AEW. Khan even bought the rights to the song, used in Brodie's tribute, so it will always be "Brodie's song". An absolutely beautiful tribute, for a beautiful man.
This is the greatest show I wish never happened. 😭

You right only once.. and never.
Perfectly put my friend.
How the kid stayed strong for the entire show I'll never understand.

He did better than I would have

What this show did:
1. Did something nice for the family
2. Allowed the coworkers an outlet to grieve
3. Made a respectful tribute to the man
4. Showed that AEW is run by actual caring humans
5. Put on a crowd- pleasing show
Came back to see this after they announced the passing of Bray Wyatt still makes me tear up. Even sadder now knowing they’re both gone.

In many years, if AEW should still exist, we'll look back on Brodie Lee as a founding father of the company, who helped carry it through 2020, the strangest, most difficult, and most important year in AEW's history. We'll all remember The Exalted One.
I met Jon in 2018 at Cincinnati airport, He was Luke Harper then and obviously popular too.
I was at the waiting lounge and suddenly I saw a BIGGGG dude with a HUGE beard preparing to sit beaide me.
I kept looking at him in awe and He offered his hand to me for a handshake.
His first words to me were "I know my beard is being weird right now, haven't shaped it since ages, I know it's going left." Then He chuckled, Kids kept on coming over for his autographs and photos and He attended every single on of them with such a grace and happiness meanwhile asking His pwn son to say thanks to those fans and how you should always treat them with smile. We chatted for half an hour straight and He'd never stoped speaking, always had jokes in his mind. It felt like we already knew each other and 😭😭😭😭 when this news broke, I went really sad.

In a world where there’s so much loss, usually these types of things don’t affect me. Don’t get me wrong, It’s always sad, it’s always heartbreaking, but this time it’s different. I feel such a genuine sadness for his son. Seeing all the love his father garnered from the whole community it’s heartbreaking to realize what he lost out on. The moments he was robbed of. RIP Brodie and Angry Grandpa
Sorry for your loss bro 🖤and your right
The phrase "cut down in his prime" is cliche at this point which is a shame, because it perfectly captured what happened here. His kids are so young, which means he waited until a little later in life to start his family. He had so much talent and that talent was denied creatively for so long. Even then, because he loves his family so much he considered ignoring his own personal gratification for the benefit of his family. Literally, just this year so much of it was coming together for him and the tragedy is he was still denied so much. He was denied the pop from the crowd of his surprise entrance at Rochester. He was denied the world title run that was almost certainly in the offing in the near future. He was denied the extended tenure at the top of the hottest faction in wrestling-a faction that was as hot as it was largely because of him personally.
Most tragically, he was denied so many days with his family. Denied seeing his sons graduate or get married. Denied seeing them have children. Denied a long and much-deserved retirement with his wife. He was right on the precipice of so much and we watched every step of it in real time. He was JUST the champion. I think the whiplash of that is why it hurts so much. There was absolutely, positively no reason to think this was coming and there was absolutely, positively no way that his best days weren't still to come. Put those two things together and it just kills.

I have watched this a ton and now I just want to say how proud I am of the fans for this video to be on the trending page. Incredible.
Brodie and this song reminds me of every man in my family. Beautiful song and show for a send off. R.I.P Brodie Lee 1979-2020. You will be forever missed.
This broke everyone, wrestling fan or first time watchers. Not a dry eye tonight.
@Chris Hutton ur so tough dude
So true my friend. So true.
@Chris Hutton Sir, we're all sorry for your loss
@Chris Hutton its the internet, you don't gotta try so hard to make people think you're a tough guy. Trying to do so actually makes you seem like the softest guy in the room.
My eyes were dry
The saddest thing is that this is probably the last time we hear this music
I have hope that someday his son will use this theme again as he becoming wrestler
@@rittis013 Or they have the Dark Order use it as a group
I think that depends on -1(when he comes of age, that is)
I remember when Jon passed away I had a conversation with my Uncle about how surprising his passing was. During that conversation we had a very long talk about how we need to cherish our love ones when we see them. Every time after that day I saw him I made sure I told him I love him. 2 months ago he shockingly passed away. Moments like these are so sad and devastating but it’s also a reminder that we’re not promised Tomorrow and no one is. RIP Jon Huber
This tribute makes me wanna tune into EVERY show from here on out
They handled this with so much class and respect
Also RIP Jon Huber
Well why dont you? Why havent you? Its the best wrestling show weekly.
Was today your first Dynamite?
Join the revolution. Join the dark order
This is how you do a tribute show RIP Brodie Lee
I totally agree.. They did justice for Brodie lee
@Trevon Womack facts 👏
@Trevon Womack yea it doesn't matter that one actually put thought emotions and heart into it even tho he's was there less than a fucking
@@encoredp14 Exactly, it doesn't matter. They did their part. If you didn't like it, that's your problem. It's not for you to like, it's to pay tribute to a fallen comrade.
The thing about this tribute is it didn’t showcase Brodie Lee the wrestler, but Jon Huber the man. Rip Jon.
Bruh if in 10 or so years this theme hits at a PPV and an aging dark order walks out to introduce the new exalted one -1 I’ll lose my goddamn mind it would be amazing
AEW has done a lot of amazing things in their short run. They have treated their wrestlers with the most creative freedom they could dream of and for me personally, taught me that professional wrestling is about putting on a story and making them count. I already knew the Dark Order would get a clean sweep, but was not prepared for how they would do it and the emotional impact it would have on me. This was the most emotional showing I have ever seen and the greatest tribute they could ever do for 1 of their own.
R.I.P. Mr Brodie Lee aka The Exalted One aka Luke Harper aka Jon Huber. "See you down the road"
Exalted One?
It’s Such a shame he didn’t get to perform in front of a packed out crowd in AEW
I could only imagine the audience pop when he first showed up 😢
Shame for everyone. All the champions right now who didnt get to have their reign in front of a crowd every week
This comment hits.
He was supposed to debut in his hometown , imagine the huge pop he would’ve got .
He was supposed to debut here in Rochester. His home town but covid took that away. It would have been a huge pop.
Wow!! 2 years ago we all lost Brodie Lee. And now we lost Terry Funk & Bray Wyatt. This world is so cruel 😭💔
So proud to be an AEW fan & supporter you all did Brodie Lee/Jon Huber& family great. THANK YOU AEW awesome tribute. Fan for life.
This is how a tribute to a fallen brother is done right! R.I.P. Brodie Lee
The Perfect Tribute
A man once told me, "the hardest thing on life is knowing someday you will have to leave your family behind."
Thats my biggest fear
@@joshuaa1605 even more so when kids are factored into the equation. Thats why you need to instill good values upon your children and teach them to be independent. Then they will be able to make their way when you are gone.
In this case, the man didn't have that much time and hopefully his wife and friends take thay upon themselves to make sure they come up that way.
An Absolute Amazing Tribute, made me shed some tears, Thank You AEW, and Rest in Peace, Brodie Lee
Watching this again and still makes me sob my eyes out 😭 R.I.P to an amazing man. An amazing wrestler, you will certainly never be forgotten Mr Brodie Lee AKA Jon Huber😭
This utterly broke me, his son is so brave.
Exactly
Am I the only one impressed by how effortlessly that kid got in the ring
Ikr that was so smooth af
Nah bro. Its Brodie Lee Jr after all.
I think he's hopped in and out of the ring a few times....
He is my new favorite wrestler. I will follow his career and may it be a successful one.
😥
It’s been almost a year, and I keep watching this clip. Say what you want about Cody, watching him desperately try to keep it together while paying tribute to someone who was obviously a close friend really drives home the point that this was 100% real. I never realised before, but Jon had such a positive affect on the colleagues around him, he’ll never be forgotten
