Everything You Missed At This HUGE Japanese Smash Tournament

- In today's episode I'm talking about Super Smash Bros Ultimate Super Major, Kagaribi 9. It was a crazy, over 1000 person tournament with one of my favorite runs I've ever gotten to watch, Zackray's run to 3rd with Pit. In case you didn't know, Meru being unseeded was likely an oversight. He used to be one of the best players in Europe before moving to Japan, and he has still been posting good results after moving.
Ah thank you for the clarification. I knew Meru was a great EU player but had no idea why he was seeded so low

Just discovered you through the Mario/Wario pills video; subscribed, then got the delightful surprise to see you covering a tournament in the Japanese scene, an in-depth look on Pit, _and_ an explanation as to why catering to tier lists in a game like Ultimate isn't the best idea when so many character specialists exist.

Great Video! Is always delightful to see in a smash tournament a mid tier character that ranks in high place. If I may ask, have you ever played any Kid icarus games? Because ironically enough many Pit mains I heard didn’t even play one game of the Kid Icarus series, wich is quite a shame since they are all pretty good, Uprising especially.
Are you kidding me of course I have! Uprising is one of my favorite games of all time and every Nintendo direct I wait for Hades to rip through the screen!

Game 1: Ok cloud v meta knight nothing crazy
Game 2: Game and Watch v Mii Brawler? Kinda weird but ok

Which of the pits do you find yourself using more often? I pocket the pits and recently switched from fully dark pit to mostly pit
I like arrows. Also pit has cooler alts
Pretty much the same as you, I started playing exclusively dark but then I realized I need regular pit for some matchups so now it’s like 50/50

Well, if you only look at the top five players' abilities in Singles as the basis of being better, yeah, Mexico might be better than Japan, but Japan and the US both have more top players.
It’s definitely up in the air but I’d still say overall Japan is better now
