Cairo, Egypt ➖ As always, when I come to a new country I need some new attire to fit in appropriately. The best place to do this is in Egypt is the Khan el-Khalili market located in Cairo. It's the biggest market here in Egypt, and it's tailored specifically to tourists... so you know what that means? High prices and a lot of bargaining to be done by yours truly.
I went in knowing I was going to be driving some hard bargains and left with a ton of new items like football jerseys, wallets, hats, key chains and much much more!

It makes sense that you can't travel with too many t-shirts. How about as a general rule, every time you leave a city or country, donate three shirts to them and buy three new t-shirts... that way you get to donate used clothes to someone who might need them, and you get to help local stores too.

I remember I was there years ago, it was my favourite place in all of Cairo, I ended up buying things that I didn't need just for the sake of playing the game of bargaining! Enjoy yourself bro, and hope to see you on the road 😀
24:52 Hi there, Luke, to get rid of the horrible smell from the inside of your shoes, try using some crushed charcoal placed in a small 'open-top' container or pot or a piece of cloth enough to fit in on the inside of your shoes and leave it overnight or just before you settle in for the night. Charcoal effectively removes 80 to 90% of bad smells from the inside of your shoes as it has got a good absorbent properties in removing bad foot smells. The alternative would be some 'used' well-wrung tea bags, put them in a small 'open-top' container or pot enough to fit inside your shoes and leave them overnight while you sleep. On the other hand, why not try wearing Skechers Men's Tresmen Hirano Open Toe Sandals as an example when travelling in very hot countries instead so you've got nothing to worry about bad shoe smells as it allows your feet to breathe while eliminating sweat- the main culprit of bad shoe smells. Also, dont forget to soak your feet in a basin of lukewarm water mixed with half a cup of vinegar or tea tree oil for half an hour then wash it off with running water afterwards, dry it off with a towel whenever you have the chance to give your feet a thorough clean the night before your next trip.

I am sure there is plenty of money left for the sellers aside from their buying price of those shirts, even if they let you believe they almost gave you the shirts for free;). The bargain markets can not be considered as scamming
It is something like auctions where the vendor start with high price and the customer start with a low price, then both would increase and decrease the prices till they reach to an agreement
It is their culture in north africa, calling that scamming is disrespectful in my opinion

Also most of them will just give you the item at the end, not because you won, or because you found its actual price, because they know that you are a visitor and that they want you to leave with good memory! It is funny how when we shop at stores such as LV, Gucci, Chanel, Hermes etc that we never lower the price! Nor even we think about lowering the price, as that may reflect our socioeconomic status!!!!

I visited Egypt in 2019 and I loved it but the only drawback was people were not being honest. They sold us stuff which was not real. I would only recommend going to Mall in Cairo to get authentic and real stuff.

30:18 Luke the Quran is playing in the background in all the stores at start of the day to bring in God's blessings to the business. Happens in Pakistan too. And when the Adhan goes on, he turns off Quran in respect of the Adhan/call to prayer time. All Muslims know this. 😊

Also I would like to share a home remedy with you for removing stinky smell from shoes...use telecom powder for at least one week regularly put the powder inside your socks and you are good to go...

I encourage any tourist who don't find the experience they wish for to make a video like what you did and tell us what you disproved and wanted not to see in your visit. Your feedback is important, and we are working very hard to make the tourist experience better than before.
What we dont appreciate is that they overcharge tourists for everything, amd chase you around trying to force you to buy something. Its not hospitable, and you feel overwhelmed and frustrated. These people that do this need to learn from the Iraqi people.
