I appreciate the beginning of the video with definitions however the recommendations portion makes me feel like coily hair is not beautiful as curly hair patterns in its natural state (frizzier, edges not laid). Most of the advice for 4b/4c was focused on defining the curls rather than products that are best for varying porosity and density. If you could do another video focus on 4 curl pattern and address what are best products for low-high density and low-porosity. That would be most helpful.
girl, ive stopped watching YT videos on 4b/c hair because everything is about definition and nothing about accpetance...our pattern have a hard time growing our hair type because we do waaaay too much manipulation and less acceptance
True first part of the video was good but the recommandations was not. It was more on how to define your hair instead of how to bring the good stuff it needs 🙁
They can't just make videos on what you want cuz they got so many fans and not everyone is type 4
All though I am 4b/4c hair
No hate though
Love u
miniimufin AGREED
Fadziso Madondo but they don’t at all lol
Thanks for this video but please do a series of videos focusing on different curl patterns, porosity and density at a time. My hair is mixture 3b, 3c and 4a with medium density. I don't know my hair porosity. Also, 4C girls need more love.
Linda Mitchell I know, it really makes me sad that 4c ladies don’t get the attention or love like the 2s and 3s 😔
yesss
Thanks for the video ladies! I wish you would have talked about product recommendations based on porosity and density.
selam destek olıurmusun kanalıma sağol
They have a website stating what products to use based on that
I loved your video. It gave the tips I needed to know more about my hair! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I have thick coarse hair that is medium porosity but I am a 2c to 3b and i have had the hardest time finding others with a similar type.
This video really help me! I think my hair is 3a 3b. Thank you for this video❤
Very helpful. My hair retains water and is medium fine. I have a lot of strands of hair - you can't easily see the scalp. Thank you for sharing and be safe.
I love Gerilyn, she is very well mannered and elegant. 😌
I have 3c/4a curls with medium to high density and low porosity and that kinky curly knot today was a no go 🙅🏾 for my hair
literally same ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
Very helpful 💓
Thanks to my ancestry I am blessed/cursed with 4 types of hair grades with mixed porosity. I've learned to love each one. The mixed bag can make it difficult when buying products but I experiment new products every other year. Frankly, I limit the amount of products I use (period). My professional stylist, whom I see twice a year is my hair Mentor & sincerely wants me to maintain a healthy mane. He shares info regarding what ingredients to look-out for and stay-away from. Plus, when testing I use it on my (2) 4c patches first. If it works there, the other grades adapt quickly. I went natural 15 years without ANY regret. I refused to get the big chop. My hair remains at 26" from root to end (slightly below my elbow) and is unmercifully thick (dense). I love the shrinkage when air drying and/or the flow after my twice-a-year flat ironing (the only time I apply artificial heat --other than the sun). My only 5 complaints ( @ this stage🙂) are 1) after flat-ironing, takes 2-2.5 weeks for my natural curl/wave pattern to recoil from root-to-end 2) when air-drying after wet-braiding, it can take up to 4-5 days to fully dry, 3) people walking up to me (black & non-blacks) touching & pulling (yes, pulling) my hair, 4) the once-a-week time it take to cleanse wash, conditioning wash, conditioner, styling or restoration prep can take 3+ hours and lastly, how hard it is to find/purchase large containers (33oz.or greater) of the hair products I do love/use. For me, that is where the cost becomes ridiculous. Too much moss for 8-12oz. 🌻⚜
My photo submission didn’t make it in the video! 😩 Hopefully next time ❤️
When I do a porosity test with water, my hair strand floats, but I really don't think I am low porosity. Is this possible? My hair takes a few hours to dry, not two days lol and it doesn't take much for me to get my hair soaking wet in the shower.
I know what my hair type is but I don't know how to take care of it. I'm have mostly 2b with some 2a in the front and 2c at the nape of the neck, low porosity, medium destiny, fine shoulder length hair. My hair is easily weighed down so I can't use too heavy of a product or a lot of product. Right now I am using Maui Moisture lightweight hydration shampoo, Garner Fructis pure clean fortifying conditioner, L'oreal boost it volume inject mousse in the roots, and LA Looks gel but I'm not getting the definition that I want. I've been looking for a styling product that won't weigh down my hair.
What's a good protein treatment for a 4b/4c, medium density and color treated hair?
the 'Shae butter protein treatment' has been recommended to me by a friend w 4b/4c type hair (I have 3b hair) and it is making it incredibly soft and slippery immediately. so I imagine using it and leaving it in your hair overnight will most definitely nourish your hair.
The biggest issue with determining curl pattern imo is people showing, and looking at, styled and manipulated hair, instead of hair in its natural state.
I am constantly suffering from dry scalp. I have Type 4, medium porosity, high density hair. I shampoo once a fortnight, but moisturize about once or twice a week. I use the LCO method. What product(s) would you recommend to combat scalp dryness? Thanks!
What is the difference between 4b and 4b hair??
I lost my hair when I had cancer and it was straight and when it grew back it came back a mixture of wavy and medium-sized curls I would say about the size of my finger maybe a marker my question because I'm not used to curly hair I have to keep running my hands through my hair for it to absorb the water but then when I try to take care of it is very frizzy and fine probably about 5 inches but when products are put in it it's prone to being very oily is there any advice anyone can give me
I’m really trying but I don’t know how to treat my hair since I don’t know my type, I think I have medium density, fine hair and low porosity. Also I don’t know my texture type is it spongy or cottony textured hair, I’m so confused and exhausted. I really need help 😢😢😢😢😭😭😭😭😭
I'm not gonna lie:
! I'm AM CONFUSION¡¡¡
Me too
I think my hair is under Alexandra but above Cristina. I’m mixed so I don’t know tbh
Hi naturally curly world!
I have type 4b/4c hair
High porosity
My hair is a bit damaged I don't know why though,
I'm natural.
Can I have a few segestions for growing hair.
My hair is like strieight and I don't relax or straighten my hair.
It's impossible for me to get definition.
Do you heat style your hair often? When you heat style, do you use a heat protectant? If not your hair may be oxidized meaning it can't revert back to curly. Try using a really reparative deep conditioner. I like the yogurt and manuka honey one from shea moisture. Then as you grow your hair, get a trim until you cut all the straight pieces off overtime.
@@LexiK0688 I only blow dry but don't use heat protectant.
Have never straightened my hair but I relax is about
Every 4 months which is 3 times a year I use some hair growth
Hair food but no deep conditioners r bringing my curls back.
Thank you so so so so so so much for the info
@@FadzisoMadondo if you continue to relax your hair you're continuing to chemically straighten your hair so your curls come back. You have to stop relaxing your hair and allow the relaxer to grow out
@@LexiK0688 thank you
OK great. I'll try that
Out
What about us that are starting this process and are in a transition and don’t know what we are... 😢
l think 2c 3a
For me
why does this video only have 304 likes..
I have 2a lol
You can't have 2 hair textures u can only have u have wavy hair
I’m going to say this again. In the Cosmetology world. We do not do all of those letters and numbers. The curl pattern chart list was created to sucker women into purchasing Oprah’s hair stylist’s product line.
How do you talk about curly hair then? Or is it assumed all types of curly hair behave the same way?
As a Aesthetician who went to school with cosmetologists
They barely learn anything about curly hair
Leave it to the curlies
why does the girl on the far left, look like Micheal jackson?!
