I went to Lurelin to get shock arrows because I didn't want to fight a Lynel, so I was here pretty early, I also just like exploring the unnecessary areas, there's almost always a huge reward
Very early in the game, I ventured south of Faron (you know, through the ocean), some Lizalfos pursued me and left me with half a heart container. I got into this wooden raft and pushed forward with the Korok Leaf. As it was super early game, I had no map so I just went forward, running away from the Lizalfos. It began to rain in the middle of the ocean, as I was basically drifting away from the coast (where the Lizalfos were), and I knew that with the rain those southern cliffs will be impossible to climb. Then a storm began. I had to put down my metallic shield, leaving me almost naked. One Octorok was everything the game needed to kill me. "Well, it will be a looooong way to Hateno" I thought. The most random village to find. I was just walking around looking for shrines after doing the "twilight princess" one and- oh ok . A new village. Well thats unexpected
The story of how I found lurelin My first playthrough, I had skipped the cutscene where King Rhoam tells you to go to Kakariko Village, for no reason- I just wasn't in the mood for more instructions from him after everything he'd already told me to do. As such, I didn't paraglide to or anywhere near the Dueling Peaks. Instead, I glided into the jungle of Faron. That was also where I first met Kass. I was used to Bokoblins and terrified of Guardians, so I was scared out of my skin when I met a Lizalfos. I was running away from one during a storm and glided off a cliff, then landed on the beach. I wasn't actually that far from Hateno Bay, but I hadn't even met Impa yet so I didn't know it was there. I just kept running down the beach until I found the Gerudo woman on the hill. Talking to her, she mentioned Lurelin Village and I was like "there's a village around here! yesss!" I eventually found Lurelin just up the path and I was so happy to see other Hylians for once. Kass and a few wandering traders were basically the only NPCs I had met, so a whole village of them made me so happy. When I heard this song, I knew this was a place where I was safe. I treated this place with special respect and I still hang out there a lot today. And yes, I did eventually make my way down the Bridge of Hylia to the Dueling Peaks stable, and continue the story.
I feel like the developers were disappointed that many players never visited Lurelin Village in Breath of the Wild (as evidenced by comments on the Internet) so they made it more relevant in Tears of the Kingdom; I've had at least a dozen characters in the game tell me "OMG Did you know a small resort village in the southeast was attacked by pirates???"

For me, it reminds me Tahiti a lot ! The blue sea, the nearly white sand of the beach, the krabs, the fishes, the palm trees, the coconut trees, the houses, the tropical ambiance... And the music of the lurelin village is, for me, the symbol of Tahiti ! ;-)
When I heard most people have no idea what this song is, or the town that it appears in I was baffled. Really shows the scale of the game and how differently people play. What a masterpiece
Loved this place. It's gorgeous, and all the quests are fun. And the island where you get stripped of all your weapons isn't too far away either. I spent a ton of time just collecting fish and crabs and cooking them with the family who lives here. The shop on the dock even looks amazing.
One of my favourite finds in the game, because I found it long after completion thinking I’d seen every town and village. The excitement of unexpectedly finding a brand new and beautiful environment is why I love this game so much
I’ve been playing Breath of the Wild for a few days now. One of my favourite moments was when I had been scrambling over hills and cliffs near Hateno, just seeing what I could find. I happened upon a shrine, and heard the faint sound of steel drums nearby. Glided down and found Lurelin village. I felt like I’d blindly stumbled into a tropical island paradise.
I never thought a game would get me like this one, cause it’s been so long I felt this way in a game. But when I showed up to this town I could just stop and enjoy the game for itself. No goals, no quests. Just the environment and little details with this music. And it was awesome.

Probably my favourite tune from BOTW. I played this all the time when I did my University work in October 2020 when I was all alone. It has a really calm and cozy atmosphere that warmed up the room!
Same, once I was on the Lurelin coast just outside the village (where the Gerudo lady is) and had just killed 3 Stalkoblins and 3 Stalmoblins. Then the blood moon happened as I was trying to catch a horse and all the monsters came back AT THE SAME TIME and I YEEETED back into the village on a wild horse
Lurelin Village was actually the first village I found When King Rhoam told me to go to kakariko, I started following the path there, but I ended up getting off track and ended up in faron. I discovered both of the stables there and was so surprised that they existed. I thought if I just kept following the path, I would end up finding kakariko. After following the path for a while, I ended up finding lurelin and at first I thought it was kakariko but eventually realized it wasn't. After getting the shrine by lurelin, I just followed the beach until I got to hateno village. I also thought that was kakariko until I got to the village. I did end up finding kakariko but I already had at least 15 hours in the game before I got there.
fist experienced its so good to be astray, I got lost too, first village that I found its hateno and I always comeback to this village even after beating ganon. Just to climp flagpole near the village and enjoy the view and music. What a good game we play
In BOTW masterworks book (Creating a Champion). There is concept art of a crab, manta ray, and jellyfish divine beast. These would certainly be incorporated around Lurelin. In the game now, there is no real story reason to go to Lurelin, and I always felt this place had missed potential.
I think Lurelin is beautiful because of that, although I wish it had it's own story, like a big Lizalfo that's eating way too many crabs and is taking away the work of many people from the village, but right now, I like that Lurelin is a place that doesn't make you feel like you should rush or the world is gonna die
I actually love that this town is totally optional to the quest. The fact that so many players never visited here really goes to show just how huge and full of interesting things to do botw's world is. I luckily went into botw really spoiler free, so I didn't really know where anything was. I found this place by accident really early in the game, as I started scouring the map from southwest to northeast.
I remember when I first found this in the game I told my sister, who was waaayyyy ahead of me in the game like I’d barely started and she was on her idk third divine beast. And I said I found the cute little island town and she went what in the world are you talking about? And I said you know the little island town by the jungle in the game? So goes to show this game had a lot to offer hehe. So much to do. I just thought it was neat there was just a whole town that she didn’t even know about it waiting to be found
all other towns in the game had been spoiled for me by my chatty sister, but i had no idea this place existed until i came across a signpost in the faron region that pointed east saying “Lurelin Village”. i remember fLiPpInG mY fUcKing ShIt because i was so excited. a VILLAGE! i love the civilization in this game and i’m always up for more exploration. so i was like ‘TAKE ME THERE, NOW’
As soon as I stepped into it So many memories from wind waker came rushing back into my mind This game is truly amazing I'm trying my best to finish it 100%
I was just playing HyruleGuessr a few minutes ago, seeing how much I could remember from when I was insanely good at the game a few years ago. I couldn’t remember any locations at all barely. I got a location on the beach with a raft and it reminded me of how much I liked this village. Immediately came here and this almost brought me to tears.
This is one of those videogame places everyone would live in if they could. Even i, who was born and raised in a mildly vacational destination, and haves a grandpa who is a fisherman, would like to visit this place if I could
Kid says: "Hey follow me I have something cool to show you!" Follows kid and gets nearly killed by that rock monster! Yeah kid you nearly tried to murder me!
This place feels weirdly hidden, like the Lurelin people all went far southeast from everybody else The nearest village is Hateno, and its still pretty far
Wish this village had more relevance then something to just discover on your own. Then again, Its cool that this village is like a reward for exploring so far out to the edges.
Loved this town, I chilled out there a ton. One of my favorite musical pieces from the entire game, along with Kass’s song, rito village, hateno, and tarry town. Great game score. Ballad of the champions too, feels 🥲
This town was the last I discovered, on the last part of the map I explored. And it was a pretty good surprise as I had no idea it existed. One minute you are exploring a tropical forest and the next, a village of fisherman! Very chill, more lore, beach and sea... Im all for it
March 2nd?!?! I've been looking this up for ages but youtube wasn't directing me here and I don't think anyone else has uploaded this track. Anyway thanks!
I kind of like that there's a village in the game that's just...there. Makes the world feel a little more vast and lived in, that there's more going on in life than just you and your journey.
What I love about this town is that you could actually go the whole game without ever even knowing about it. But it’s still there and god dammit I’m a sucker for world building so I just love this. I really hope that Totk will have new villages and that some aren’t even mentioned like this one
I almost finished everything in the game and finished all the map except for some shrine yet remained undiscovered and some side quest , I played this game blindly never searched the internet probably that’s why I finished it with more than 600 hours, I felt kinda sad because there’s nothing to discover anymore Then I was venturing south close to the lakeside stable where I stumble upon a rider he said he’s going to Lurelin village and I know i remember I’ve heard that name before somewhere or read it not sure , but I didn’t know it was existed, and then the excitement inside me ignited again finally something new to discover , so I decided to follow the rider on foot , I didn’t want to lose him, it was long way and the rain started to pour and the sun proceeded to set into the horizon and Bokoblins emerged from beneath the ground , the rider panicked and started to run I kept fight until I lost the sight of him tried to follow the directions he fled to , but couldn’t find him , kept looking for the village myself and I got nothing, then I turned back to the stable and I said to myself maybe it’s a myth there’s no village there , spent the night at the stable the following morning I saw that rider again and I decided to follow him to the village this time I kept following him and running away from enemies so I won’t lose track of him , and then I saw something from far away , it was a village Lurelin village I was so happy, new people place , shrine and side quests
I wish they made this town more important
Like adding fishing to the game, but not have it be mandatory just something fun to do?

Crack open a coconut and sit back to the grooves of some refershin' Lurelin
*Palm fruit
Equip Switch T shirt, take off pants, dive in water
my daily to do list
assert dominance
This is my favorite place in the entire game.
Yes!
Could you imagine Link being like "Sorry Zelda, but I'm going to go take my vacation, I'll save you from Ganon later!" lol
When I come across bad experiences in the past, listening to this music calms me down.
Lurelin is such a tranquil and wonderful village, I loved just hanging out there in game. So beautiful, and this song really helped build the mood
"Link we need y-"
"It's my day off! I want to fish and chill here! Now get out of the sun, thx!"
😂
A traveler told me that there was a town down this road
I already beat ganon and all divine beasts and i never knew this place existed
Every damn time I enter Lurelin... a Blood Moon happens... *EVERYTIME DAMN TIME*
So it's not just me experiencing that!
Same, once I was on the Lurelin coast just outside the village (where the Gerudo lady is) and had just killed 3 Stalkoblins and 3 Stalmoblins. Then the blood moon happened as I was trying to catch a horse and all the monsters came back AT THE SAME TIME and I YEEETED back into the village on a wild horse
village that I never discovered..
It’s in the south.
Go South east
Lurelin Village was actually the first village I found
When King Rhoam told me to go to kakariko, I started following the path there, but I ended up getting off track and ended up in faron.
Reminds me of Alola in Pokémon!
It feels so cozy!
I took lots of screenshots here and I always came here to relax and have fun. That cliff up top had a mad view
The atmosphere, building, and theme of Lurelin village remind me how beautiful my trophis country (Indonesia)
I liked that place. I used to wear nothing but the well worn pants and just chill with the townfolks. The setting of the place was so relaxing.
I love Lurelin Village and Tarrey Town just because they're optional
Best place. A peaceful place that has that summer feel to it. It's coming.
I just thought it was neat there was just a whole town that she didn’t even know about it waiting to be found
Alola!
ÉrWin 2.0 Alola to you too....
.....wait, wrong game.
Time to head to Akala...oh
Oh wait, there are two?
@@ShadowSkyX LMFOAOO
*wait a minute-*
@Team Plasma Colress [TPC] welp time to do the fire trial- wait WHAT whos robbie why is the volcano not in the region AAAAAAAAAAAAHH
all other towns in the game had been spoiled for me by my chatty sister, but i had no idea this place existed until i came across a signpost in the faron region that pointed east saying “Lurelin Village”. i remember fLiPpInG mY fUcKing ShIt because i was so excited. a VILLAGE! i love the civilization in this game and i’m always up for more exploration. so i was like ‘TAKE ME THERE, NOW’
As soon as I stepped into it
So many memories from wind waker came rushing back into my mind
This game is truly amazing
I'm trying my best to finish it 100%
this song takes my breath away
and no that's not an intentional pun
The song lures in youre breath
(Intentional pun)
I guess you can say finding this place is pretty WILD.
Sorry I'll leave now.
I like to imagine that in an AU where the champions survive that Link and Mipha get married and this village is where they spend their Honeymoon.
Am I wrong for not shipping Link and Mipha?
Stefano Ponce No, everybody has their own opinion and it’s okay if you don’t think the same :) i do not ship them but that sounds really sweet TvT
Horatio oh my god HORATIO
It is me indeed.
Horatio give em the 1-2
This is one of those videogame places everyone would live in if they could.
I came here to buy shock arrows instead of fighting the lynel in zora lol
same here! i tried once then decided to never even make eye contact with a lynel again..
@@erinc8885 it takes awhile to deal with lynels but once you do, you begin hunting them for sport
@@HerooftheWild screw sport after a while when you get silver lynels all i see is some gems, shock arrows, bow, shield, and weapons
For me, I went to Korok forest.
Anyone feel that summer coming again? Yup. It's that time of the year. Drink plenty of water and some tasty fruits.
This village and theme definitely grew on me over the years 🏖️
The night version brings tears to my eyes. It's crazy what a game can do.
This place feels weirdly hidden, like the Lurelin people all went far southeast from everybody else
The nearest village is Hateno, and its still pretty far
So fucking relaxing, I spent a good amount of time looking at the sea listening
theme of getting pissed because you lost the gambling game, so you keep trying until you win and end up with less money than you had before
save before u do the game
I wonder how many people never found this village
This is where I take Link on "vacation"
It's pretty comfy to just run around and farm ingredients
Wish this village had more relevance then something to just discover on your own. Then again, Its cool that this village is like a reward for exploring so far out to the edges.
this reminds me of animal crossing
Same composer
Same main composer. The game has 3 composers. I mean it's in the description too...
Loved this town, I chilled out there a ton. One of my favorite musical pieces from the entire game, along with Kass’s song, rito village, hateno, and tarry town. Great game score. Ballad of the champions too, feels 🥲
I've played 200+ hours and just discovered Lurelin Village....
This town was the last I discovered, on the last part of the map I explored. And it was a pretty good surprise as I had no idea it existed. One minute you are exploring a tropical forest and the next, a village of fisherman! Very chill, more lore, beach and sea... Im all for it
anyone else find this town super late in the game and now that's like your new homespot.
March 2nd?!?! I've been looking this up for ages but youtube wasn't directing me here and I don't think anyone else has uploaded this track. Anyway thanks!
They got the new horizons vibe from this village
This town is the chillest. Plus the lady sells shock arrows , pretty important to me.
I didn’t realise Hawaii has music!!
gorgeous. had completely forgotten about this before deep diving into the ost
goddamnit I just got away from Alola and now you want me to go back BotW?
I'M NOT DOIN IT!! XD
You did. I haven't or bought it. I was busy saving or the Switch and it was worth it. At least i have X.
Did you realize both games have an Akala (Akkala) region/island? In the same general place on the map as well?
I kind of like that there's a village in the game that's just...there. Makes the world feel a little more vast and lived in, that there's more going on in life than just you and your journey.
What I love about this town is that you could actually go the whole game without ever even knowing about it. But it’s still there and god dammit I’m a sucker for world building so I just love this.
I really hope that Totk will have new villages and that some aren’t even mentioned like this one
Nothing better to listen to on Christmas 2019 :)
This song kinda remind me of indonesian folk songs
Always loved this instrument .. often use in beach level in mario
It's called a steel drum
Prajay Tanks man
Didn't knew
animal crossing?
pk mach I definitely get like an Animal Crossing + Jamaican vibe from this!
well its made by the same composer =P
New horizons am I right
VaCaTiOn JuIcE
I love the vibe this brings...
I recently visited the town of Two Harbors on Catalina Island this past weekend, and for some reason it really reminded me of Lurelin Village...
I am at the beach as we speak rn dipped myself in water and hearing this ❤
for REAL!!!
This was such a cool town!! I just wish they gave you more questlines for it! Love the music here!
I almost finished everything in the game and finished all the map except for some shrine yet remained undiscovered and some side quest , I played this game blindly never searched the internet probably that’s why I finished it with more than 600 hours, I felt kinda sad because there’s nothing to discover anymore
Then I was venturing south close to the lakeside stable where I stumble upon a rider he said he’s going to Lurelin village and I know i remember I’ve heard that name before somewhere or read it not sure , but I didn’t know it was existed, and then the excitement inside me ignited again finally something new to discover , so I decided to follow the rider on foot , I didn’t want to lose him, it was long way and the rain started to pour and the sun proceeded to set into the horizon and Bokoblins emerged from beneath the ground , the rider panicked and started to run I kept fight until I lost the sight of him tried to follow the directions he fled to , but couldn’t find him , kept looking for the village myself and I got nothing, then I turned back to the stable and I said to myself maybe it’s a myth there’s no village there , spent the night at the stable the following morning I saw that rider again and I decided to follow him to the village this time I kept following him and running away from enemies so I won’t lose track of him , and then I saw something from far away , it was a village Lurelin village I was so happy, new people place , shrine and side quests
