Can't wait to brew this one. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Excellent, thank you very much for being so generous with knowledge.
Thanks Harry, will brew this next looks fantastic, but really looking forward to your stout mate.cheers
Thanks for the thorough walkthrough. Cheers
Top man! Haven't had the pleasure of trying it but without question will be brewing it!
thanks Harry for walking through your brew day. As part of your Blog, would love to see more of your brew days every now and then - brings out the brewing nerd in me!!
I’ll give this recipe a go! Thanks for the finer details and BrewDay sheet. Cheers
Thanks, Harry! Enjoying a delicious vacant gesture across the pond in Virginia. It just finished carbing up and is amazing. Great recipe.
I will be making this beer for sure! Thanks Harry!
Thank you Harry for the in depth view of being a well renowned brewer.
Awesome is all i can say besides brilliant.
Dead set LEGEND! 🍻
I'll look forward to making this one ! Cheers Harry 👍
Christmas has arrived! Thanks.
Awesome stuff Harry! Your a gem of a bloke 🍻
Cheers Harry! Really appreciate you sharing it with us. I wasn't too far off the mark with my recipe I knocked up. I reckon a Vacant Gesture clone comp could be cool (nice idea Richard!). Will definitely be brewing this soon and will do a vid!
Fantastic Video - that's what you call a HBW video - brilliant. Thanks.
Thanks very much. Brewed it last month and sampled the first bottle last night...top notch!
Kegged this yesterday. Superb beer! Thanks for sharing
What a bloke. The gift that keeps giving. Going to make this my 1st AG in over 2 years. Time to dust off the kit. 🍻🍻🍻
Since it will likely be some time (if ever, sigh) before I can sip this in Retford - I will brew this and slap your mug on the label for my home enjoyment. Awesome brewday and a fabulous share - you're the best, Chris! Cheers all from the southern US - JC.
Thanks for sharing your main drain valve with us
Great video thanks for sharing it with us.
I am sure that I will be having a few from this batch 😁👌
I made this beer, and it's been Carbonating and co conditioning for the past week.
Just tried it....... Wow, I know why it's your tried and tested favorite. It's awesome. Thanks harry for sharing
Thanks Harry, I’ll be brewing this in Tasmania! Let’s take the vacant gesture world wide 😀
joy of Joys, great stuff, thank you.
Saved this one , Cheers Harry ;-) Will no doubt have a go and then take a trip over to have a pint of the genuine article to compare.
Thanks for the info and another top vid
Nice one Harry , you're a true agent my friend
Great Brewday mate, Loved it thankyou
Cheers for the share. Already done the excellent ShyPA and this will now be next. Well, as soon as I’ve an empty keg. 🍻👏🏻
Cheers for sharing.
Awesome! Definitely going to brew this and probably make a brewday video myself too, how about doing a homebrew competition based on this recipe Harry? We could send our versions of the vacant in to you and you can pick the best clone, might be a fun thing to do!
Dudes Brews sounds like a great idea!👍🍻
Great idea...that has legs...
Just ordered the ingredients so I'll be brewing this next week with a slightly increased grain bill. Cheers Harry
Superbidge! Cheers Harry. 🍻
Top guy, thanks for sharing! :-)
10/10 cracking video!
The best 500ml of beer ive ever drunk. I need more.
cheers harry
Thank you. This is fantastic! I'm just getting into water chemistry, could I ask what the thinking is behind Burtonising the water for this rather than using a classic golden ale water profile? Sorry if this is a stupid question!
Bollox
Just put an order in at the malt Miller b4 I noticed this.
Next brew then
Cheers Mr Harrison
I was already planning on brewing this on Friday since you commented on the recipe a few days ago. This definitely clears a few things up! Was going to put 26ibu at the start. Also the finishing gravity is interesting as I put 1.010 brewday vid coming soon :)
Gravity is around 1.005 :o dryhop no1 added :)
Are there any vids on building this Mash tun. Some footage on the inside.
I am going to brew it, drink it and regret it the day after. Just like all of my other beers :)
If I can find where to get ingredients from (I live in Finland) will try this,
ONLY 20 liters :)
Cheers...is the dry hop 100% Mosaic as well? Duh! Took a look back at the brew sheet and answered my own question...yes!
What base profile did you use for the Murphys water profile? Is it a standard BeerSmith one? Can't seem to find it, nearest to Cork I can find is Dublin!! Brewing this in the next couple of days. Cheers
Can't go wrong with Mosiac.
Great comprehensive brew video. I'm well up for brewing this, I really enjoy drinking it when we came to Retford. But I don't think I caught what the dry hops were, Is it two lots of Mosaic?
Yes x2 750gram at day 5 and 8 total 1.5kg rack on day 10
Hi Harry, does a total grain bill of 3.17kg sound about right for a 20l brew? Scaled on Beersmith
@HarryBrew69 in the video you say the pre-boil gravity is 1.035 but that your OG is 1.036/7. That doesn't sound right. Unless you when you saw pre-boil that's also pre-sparge? Just doesn't seem right that you would only gain 2 gravity points during the boil. Thanks...
Cheers for the recipe Harry! Going to give this a try soon.
What water do you use? And how do you deal with chlorine/chloramine?
Im assuming he only has chlorine and he isnt to worried about the amount it isnt that bad in the some parts of UK and he said to use Burton on Trent water profile!
You're a star!!! Thanks 🍺
PS: My Beersmith puts the style at 18A ??
2015 vs 2008 BJCP style classifications - 2015 is 18A for Blonde Ale.
Hi Harry, thanks a lot for sharing! I definitely will try to reverse it. I figured out in beer Smith how to make my water. I'm brewing wit reverse osmosis water. Should I aim for the same profile in my sparge water? To me it seems like you only "engineer" your strike water not the sparge.
Thanks
Arne
If i recall when i had a report from Murphys a bitter profile was either 2/1 or 3/1 sulphate to chloride with DWB salt blend
Burton on Trent water profile apparently he said to use!
Is it possible to get the target water profile ion concentrations? We don’t have DWB or AMS in Canada, so I build water profiles from individual salts and acids.
Set your water profile tor Burton on Trent
Interesting to note that the style guideline is now out of date, BJCP Blonde Ale 6b 2008 is now defined as BJCP Blonde Ale 18A 2015 you may need to adjust your recipe if looking at brewing this at home and using current style guidelines.. cheers and happy brewing.
There ain't no way any sane person would adjust a SIBA National Gold winning recipe. Surely you just change the style.
Your a feckin legend Harry, I'm going to brew this on very good Friday but I don't have any fucking wheat ! Do ya think I could throw in faked oats instead ?
Do you buy pre-milled grains or did you do that off camera?
I know all the pale malt is pre milled and im sure he was crushing some special malts himself from previous videos not sure what ones though
Won’t be long before jacky boy has a full on brewers beard...
Sorry Harry, What's the Dry Hop Schedule for the Vacant? Once or Twice? And what roughly what days?
Cheers, Planning on Brewing the VG this weekend
50/50 1st day 3 second day 5ish for a further 5 days.
@@harrybrew69 awesome, thanks
Just shared your post, if you don’t mind?
