  • Podcast host, reality TV alum, and incredible advice giver Nick Viall and I discuss everything going on with men when it comes to dating from flirting on Instagram to when it's your responsibility to make the first move, how to tell if he's not into you, why to never ask a guy "what are we", guys' biggest dating insecurity, what percentage of men cheat, how guys fall in love, and what Nick blew my mind about.

    I’m a little older then Kristin and I’m also divorced. I feel that Kristin has been very male centred her whole life. She has always had male attention and I feel she has found herself single again and has come yo realise it’s a whole new ball game. Dating apps have made a huge change and women like Kristin are now not as sought after by men because now your just added to a roster. I have decided to jump off the ride and have decentred men. 5:57 I have had a couple of relationships since my divorce and tbh I would rather be spending my precious time with people I actually care about. I have come to the realisation that most guys are selfish.

      Same. Dating is a whole different beast when you're mid-30s and beyond. Trying to find that needle in a haystack gem of a man is exhausting. I gave up years ago and find I am so much healthier and happier when I'm not stressing over relationships/dating/men. Spending time with friends, family, in nature and with my wonderful dogs is the path I intend to stay on.

    • @Swizzles89
      @Swizzles89 Před 7 měsíci +1

      I'm a little older than Kristin as well so I too remember when dating did not involve apps and all this crap. I do agree with it being like a dating roster. Everyone is looking for the next best thing. No one ever seems satisfied. I married in 2005 and I'm still married but I've always said if something were to happen to my relationship that I probably wouldn't make men a priority either. Today's dating world seems like so many mind games and I feel like I'm getting too old for this lol. The only thing I disagree with is that men are selfish. I'd upgrade that to people are selfish. It's very hard to find a genuine man to date or even a genuine female friend. Many people lack commitment and loyalty in relationships in general because they just seem too lazy to care. If you're someone like me who values a close connection whether it be romantically or from a friendship it can be very hard to find someone who is like-minded. It's quite sad actually.

  • @ValerieL456

    Most of the ick stuff I've seen I've realized is women actually being scared of good guys. I saw one about a girl getting the ick because a guy said he liked cocktails and named one from a chain restaurant. If I liked a guy and he said that I would find it so cute and endearing. I really like seeing the humanity in people. life is hard and people are awkward and most people are mean. To overlook character for something like that is a bullet dodged for the guy because he'll find a girl who sees and likes his inner child and social awkwardness and it'll be his safe place. That's where you find the gems.

    It feels like she’s trying to figure out how to navigate the dating world as an adult. Things have changed with social media and dating apps, but it feels like her perspective and approach is the same as when she was in her early 20’s. It’s interesting, because if you’ve never been married or in a long-term relationship through your 20’s and 30’s your dating approach tends to mature.
    I can see why it can be hard to jump back in to the dating scene if you’ve been out of it since you were early 20’s.
    Her comments remind me of how I thought about guys and dating when I was younger. He was giving her a lot of good advice on how she should be thinking about dating now in her 30s.
    When you first start dating you feel like there’s a VAST difference between men and women. But then you realize we’re all just people, and everyone has a different personality and likes/dislikes. It’s not necessarily men vs women.

    The part where he said “men don’t fall in love with you due to sex.” Well, it always happens to me, 3 times when I just wanted something casual and after 6 months and 💥 there goes his love confession. I realize I can’t be in a causal thing no more due that. So now I just take my time to be in a relationship and go from there.

    I don't think the things about exes is true. I've had a very hard time breaking up in the past because of the friend compatibility but the relationship was completely gone. Once we decided we were able to remain friends we were able to break up and no fire ever ever rekindles. We were together for 6 years and the last two the sexual aspect was gone.

    most people suck but idk if it's anything new. however i guess dating apps make users feel like they have more options that's no matter your gender. people can go on a date or have a fling but if you're both open about it fine but also why would a man judge a woman for sleeping w/ him if that's what he wanted? plus some women DON'T necessarily care about the men they've had sex w/ however women are the ones who can get pregnant but then why would men slutshame the women after? relationships have too many rules and expectations though. no wonder so many people want out. also when it comes to making the first move, why play games? life is short but it can be hard to discuss feelings and be vulnerable and honest at times.
