- Me and @expatamerican3234 (Expat American) visited a new Russian McDonald's replacement (Vkusno i Tochka) to see whether it became better or worse over the last year since 're-opening'. Not to mention, we came to a new building, built from the scratch by the bew company, not the one earlier used by the original McDonald's.

The order screen software and all the decor is identical to new stores in Canada. It is so obviously McDonald's just operating under a different name.

I wonder if it is part of the contract to maintain the same design.

Honestly, I'm not really familiar with our McDonald's restaurants as I go there rarely, usually when we are travelling: you often find McD at our reststops, it's comfortable when you are on move (but you find McD within the cities, in industrial areas as well, and many people like McDrive).
The taste at McD is not good and not bad, but I often feel sick and get very tired after eating at McD, even when I do not eat really much. Many people here say the same 🤔
Your "new" McD is really orderly and clean. And you have a very huge range of meals, products. The products look delicious. Some restaurants here offer cake as well, but not all - and it's expensive compared with a good quality product from a pastry shop. Here you have to pay for water as well - nothing is for free in Germany.
McD is not McD, there are price differences between the restaurants even within one region and sometimes it's not the same quality.
BtW: That black seeds are "black cumin", delicicous (my opinion), but not on a burger bun. You usually find black cumin on Turkish flat bread or Manakeesh, or you pour it on curd, eat it together with olive oil and wheat bread.

At the expense of free water - I think that in hot, arid places, free water should be a mandatory rule, a gesture of hospitality and mercy. As for Europe and the European part of Russia, water is just one of the services, and services must be paid for.

Living in Brazil for two years, the Burguer from a place called Madero is quite amazing.
This seems very similar to the Australian McDonalds Menu- especially the Happy Meal options being more health conscious and having the books offered as an alternative to the toys.

As an outsider who hasn't eaten in Russian Mc Donalds, it looks better than the original. I even think that they put children's books in there, better than pointless toys, so it has a multipurpose for children.
As usual, well done Zangieff. It would be interesting to see the point of view from a McDonalds Franchisee.
What happened when McDonalds told them to close down? Were they included in the Vkusno i Tochka schtick?
Vkusno i Tochka is actually owned by the guy who used to be McDonalds Russia's franchisee with dozens of restaurants in Siberia before McDs' withdrawal from the country
Loved your video, guys! I actually find the food in the new McDonald's better for some reason. Maybe it's the sauce, but this Big Hit is definitely not as dry as the Big Mac. Keep those taste tests coming, but maybe pace yourselves, or you'll end up in a "food coma" before you get to those mystery triangles haha

As someone who lives in New Zealand, these prices are very reasonable and you have a bigger selection than we have here. I'm only halfway through the video so I hope it tastes good by the end
I studied in Moscow 20 years ago and i would go to McD just for those cherry pies! We only have apple pies in the US.

An enjoyable video. Thanks guys. I'll say this-from America-Russian fast food sure looks like American fast food. On the "cold" fries. McDonald's cold fries have always been an enigma to me. Boy do they taste good fresh and hot. But let them cool off and they become like styrofoam, taste wise. I've never had another fry anywhere whose flavor disappeared so quickly and completely. There were definitely some neat looking options you had that aren't available here. That said if there's an option America probably has a whole chain that is selling that. Are there many/any other fast food chains in Russia at this point? Just curious. Anyways very much enjoyed this. Best wishes and thanks for this look inside your country.

I like, sometimes, to have a quick snack with a shawarma. Quite healthy and fast food. Chicken pieces with vegetables, herbs and sauce wrapped in pita bread.
Yes, we called the kids meal Happy Meals when I was a kid. I have no idea if they still call them that. I do remember toys in the Happy meals. They came in a box and had the McDonalds characters like Ronald McDonald on the side. I think they do have more variety of food at McDonalds over there than what we have here I'm positive we don't have shrimp at McDonalds over here. I think small cheeseburgers use to be 99 cents when I was a kid but not sure. I think they offered Grape figures and each grape played a musical instrument for thE Happy meal when I was a kid I never did collect them all Over here there's a song called I heard the Grapevine and that was part of the advertisement

It's interesting that this new Russian MacDonald's replacement not only copied everything on their menu, they also ripped off the logo from Japanese chain Mos Burger!
The logos are similar, but not identical, no one in Russia knows about Mos Burger, so there was no point in copying their logo, it’s just a coincidence.
To be honest, Vkusno i tochka is good! Especially after the return of big mac aka Big Hit

Interesting how the software and GUI is pretty much the same as in any other mcdonalds (Buttons etc.). Interesting how the software company policy differents, and if it falls under mcdonalds or not.
So, they have managed to go "beyond" McDonalds and do something more or else than the old version? Well, it is smart by the company to try to add something of their own flavour and ideas to it.

Actually this looks better and cleaner than the McDonald’s here in the west. Also I love the child books instead of cheap plastic toys. This is a great example to fight against Monopol company’s to make own economy stronger
