- Genius Invocation TCG is housing lots of powerful decks, and as Genshin Impact's first game-extension, there was bound to be a similarity in the meta. In this case, it's freeze teams! Or rather, freeze decks. So this video will explain all the basics you need to know in order to get started with 2 of the strongest freeze decks in the TCG as of 3.3!

0:52 Why Freeze Decks Are Broken
2:46 The Blizzard Deck
4:58 The Glacier Deck (Top Tier?)

I love the way they incorporated the elemental system into the card game, makes it so much more interesting
not only the element but the characters too! It is so fucking cool using my main Noelle and just slap the crap out of my enemy like how I use her in game
The entire character's kits are or at least, their elemental bursts and skills and the crazy part is that it works.
I think the best thing about Freeze decks is, you can annoy peoples who uses melt Yoimiyaka deck.
You talk like as though Ayamiya players don't ALSO incorporate a Freeze plan somewhere in there with Xingqiu. One of the best decks to beat Ayaka Melt OTK is Ayaka Freeze OTK.
@@PewPew_McPewster u still have an advantage with 2 cryo units. but the yoimiya version is all around actually more flexible
@@PewPew_McPewster also many people dont actually run xingqiu in that deck because its hard to set up xingqiu annd yoimiya ults together
That's the power of control deck, making people bald
@@PewPew_McPewster And you talk as if Xingqiu ver is actually good.
Its slow and you get no Resonance. Chongyun Yoiyaka or Pyro Agent Yoiyaka are the go to.
It's funny to me how Genshin's first real PvP experience is thru a TCG system instead of real combat, and it's actually fun too XD
TCG kinda reflects the immersion of doing real combat so it's a W for me.
That's because you can't whale your way to victory xD
Yeah, it's actually a genius way for hoyoverse to somehow implement PVP. I've played other games with PVP and honestly, it's double edged sword where it could either be the motivation for minority (for whales) or discourage most players (low spenders or F2P). At least in TCG, you wouldn't be able to 'buy' your way through, if you want to improve you gotta do some practice and think of strategies, really learn the ins and outs of it. There's no such thing as the barrier of 'money'.
There’s wind trace:D
@@willpickering5829thats an event tbf

Me: why are we here? Just to suffer?

@@Ahloveyafuhsodoesn’t change the dice elemental types
@@theneekofficial8829 its supposed to be able to help the person who didn't know what option to pick with their character card frozen.
Freeze and swirl are so fun, you can swirl hydro into cryo, or vice versa, to swap your opponent into a frozen unit, absolutely hilarious.
Agree and i call it the true Blizzard deck the others are just Freeze deck, and there's also FlashFreeze deck
I play Freeze-Sucrose deck not because of meta, but to annoy people lol. I freeze 1 unit and when they try to change active character I use fast switch to sucrose then use her skill to change back their active to the frozen unit.
I use Mona, Ayaka, and Kaeya. I love it when I have Kathryne on the board, and all the character swap cards, and have Kaeya's burst on. With Mona and Ayaka's passives, I just free-swap to any character and the ice shards just fly.
Freeze is the blue control from magic. You play it when you want your opponent not to have fun.
Me using the blizzard deck by accident not knowing it's meta. I just really liked the characters
lmao same
I use a deck with Oceanid, Chongyun and Jean! its really good against AyaYoi decks because of Jeans skill swapping preventing Yoi from building up energy. Also has great survivability with Jeans healing , end phase damage with Oceanid summons and Jean dandelion field, and of course some freeze mixed in.
play ganyu instead
this guy has a problem with oceanid users
Gonna try this, sounds fun.
Hope that your opponent doesn't have 2 Guardian's Oath Cards or else Rhodeia is screwed.
@@kuyarence does anyone even run a single guardian's oath? it's too expensive and destroys your own summons too
In a game that is a damage race, tempo is king, and Freeze SEVERELY jams any decks tempo by shutting down a unit for a WHOLE ROUND and also messing with your opponent's dice management. Not all elemental reactions are created equal and Freeze certainly has the potential to sit heads and shoulders above all the other reactions.
The extra 1 damage is the cherry on top. Same game as bloom btw (which, from the limited testing I did, is borderline unplayable)
I found that getting the adventurer’s artifact set (forgot the name of it) that heals you when you normal attack or cast ability is super OP on Ayaka and Xingqiu. Ayaka will gladly tank all the damage and then gain all her health back in one furious volley of infused normal attacks
Taser decks are really good too with offeild summons and constant dmg
Thanks for this video, I've started doing the TCG quests and was wondering what deck to build. I wasn't sure if Ganyu was any good in any deck.
7:32 Its 5 on its own. 2 from Ayaka, 2 from Xingqiu ult, 1 from freeze reaction. The sixth damage comes from Ayaka's elemental skill card, which adds 1 damage to her cryo infusion and allows to swap to her for free once per round. Now, I wonder if it would be feasible to have a Ayaka, Xingqiu, Yoimiya deck Ayaka cryo infusion into Xingqiu ult for freeze into Yoimiya ult for instant 8 damage, with Ayaka's elemental skill card and a sword equipment that would be 10.
😊
Ayaka, Xingqiu, Yoimiya deck can be good but it also has its cons. Setting up with XQ can be hard, and if you somehow got unlucky and match with someone who can do big hits (like lawachurl), someone who can force switch (sucrose, jean) before you even get XQ or Yoi's burst, and got unlucky with rolls/cards you're screwed. I noticed, that team is energy hungry plus you would need some luck to pull up that Katheryne/food/ card ASAP or your starter (XQ or Yoi) could die before or right after getting his burst up.
Darkest Dungeon is a PVE game, but it had problems with the "meta" revolving around Stun, which would take an enemy's turn away and you could potentially get through an encounter stun locking the opponents. The way they solved it was giving any character that becomes unstunned get a 50% stun resist buff for a round. In Darkest Dungeon 2, they made it stun much harder to apply in the first place and what takes its place is Daze which forces that character to act at the end of a round
I think something like either of these could work. Although if we rework the mechanic entirely, I would just make freeze a debuff that makes you unable to switch team members or a debuff to damage. Probably the latter because the former actually opens itself up to other kinds of abuse
Funnily enough, I’ve been gravitating towards freeze decks during casual play, so I may just try the decks out.
this really counters my noelle OTK deck but i build energy on noelle and switch to fischl and apply every enemy with electro (i also build buffs on noelle like gravestone gamblers and that food i forgor💀) and use some quick switch card to suddenly switch to noelle and perform OTK cause they got no dice
Cool deck but I have only lost to this deck once, probably because people are still learning how to play it. I find OTK or summoning deck to be more of a problem right now but this could be a good counter against them so that's nice
Will definitely try it next once I got enough currency to build them cuz the weekly hard limit is pain
I didn't arrive when this meta was on the loose and now I have seen it, I can see how obnoxious this is. I am glad that the card, Katheryne was introduced (A 1 quickswap support card) to counter this play. Getting her early is also strong for combo type decks which is really powerful with the introduction of Tignari with his Dendro reactions. It feels great to see how much it changes in such a short time and I'm all for it. Keep up the great video!
Mona is my core character on freeze but I also bring fatui pyro agent for easy big dmg. Mona skill which give you free fast swapping character makes it easy either you want freeze the enemy or punish them.
This is what I will work towards in the game now. Thank you, Dragon, now how do I get all these cards. lol
U want OP OTK deck? I suggest u to try Noelle, Bennett, Ningguang/GeoLawachurl. Use Ningguang if you want more survivability cuz ningguang can provide shield. Use lawachurl if you want big PP dmg cuz believe me, the geo lawachurl hit really hard by itself alone.
The strategy is to get bennett's and Noelle's burst ready. Make sure to bring some geo-related cards and artifacts. Bring food that reduces normal atk die consumption and give the adeptus food to noelle right before she uses her burst. Put WGS on your Noelle and Aquila Favonia on Bennett(optional).
Once the set up is complete, you are free to completely destroy the enemy deck. I've been using this team both in singleplayer and co-op battles. And it's so satisfying to see my Noelle doing 7-10 DMG with her normal atk after using her burst.
I came up with XQ, Ayaka, CY freeze deck at Player level 3 or 4
I came up with it without realizing it's universally overpowered because I have ayaka as my PFP, therefore i need to get her first, and then get characters that can synergize with her
I started with XQ, Ayaka, Sucrose but Sucrose did nothing for the majority of game, and so I tried Chongyun.
Then I found out Chongyun was just perfect, he helped subtitute cryo application and freeze opponents while trying to get XQ's second burst up
Few plays later, I knew the deck could be more optimized, so I maxed out Dawn winery, Katheryne, Leave it to me, and that rosaria's card (whatever it's called). I need to be able to act before they could act or build up more strength, this is known as aggro play, or you could say that the freeze deck is part of aggro-deck category (A deck that focuses on defeat omg the opponent with low/medium attack ASAP before the opponent could build up too much power)
This deck might still be the least complicated deck (this is because I'm sure there are other players who came up with this insane deck on their own) since the TCG is still pretty new, there are bound to be other more complicated decks that the community have yet to discover
To add, all cards in Genius Invokation TCG are not in anyway obtainable through real money, therefore it's not a product.
the devs CAN CERTAINLY NERF/BUFF cards for balancing, and causa a shift in meta and NOT GET SUED for it, unlike gacha characters.
Keep that in mind, you can't expect using this deck forever, not only players will discover a counterdeck, the devs may alter their stats for balancing
I have a deck I called "ANNOYING" and it's Ayaka, Diona, and Rhodeia. I completely dragged an Ayamiya melt deck with it. I felt a little bad for the Eula pfp. I had like three Hydro mimics eating their ass at any given time lmao
is there a proper guide for the blizzard deck ? i feel like im playing the deck wrong cuz i saw at 3:27 that its possible to freeze all 3 but idk if its possible to do it in one turn nor how to do it
my main deck was accrually xinqui, ayaka and ganyu! getting xingquis burst and then just spamming ganyus attacks! if ganyu gets low, their also ayaka to swapp to ^^
wow my deck was exactly the blizzard one just by casuality because i liked frozen
Excellent, I have another deck set-up I can use against Belén😈😈😈
Wait until next week when we unlock maggu kenki for a summoner deck paired with oceanid and a filler character that is also a summoner
oceanid is like the worst possible pair with maggu kenki. if you want to play maggu with freeze, you will need someone, who doesnt apply hydro in the end phase but during the action phase instead. freeze in the end phase has almost no value, as it doesnt last until the next turn. so for freeze better pair him with xingqiu or barbara.
if you want to use freeze as your aura for melt or superconduct, with fischl or xiangling, it does work, although i would recommend mona instead in that case.
who tf are you to say that? did the guy say he wants to play a freeze team? freeze is not the only way to play.
@@regulusdlc9679 are you braindead he said oceanid and kenki obviously that means freeze lmao
Freeze might be the meta but my go-to deck is still a Burning Deck with Collei + Diluc + Bennett
Personally a big fan of Quicken decks because I really like using Collei and Keqing, but Freeze is soooo annoying to deal with... I might use my Oceanid and Chongyun to make one myself.
there are actually ways, to counter decks, that only rely on freeze with any deck. everything that works with a slow tempo, is really strong against it. summoning, healing, food, quickswap, expensive support cards and one shot characters (diluc burst).
this is true. i run freeze and found quick swap, burst damage(especially lawachurl), and aoe hinder freeze a lot.
Bro, yes you the person reading this. I use the blizzard deck and I have to tell you something, it's so good that I one shoted a xingqiu yoyamiya deck in THREE ROUNDS. With Mona ult and ayaka skill.
How do you freze with ayaka and how to get 6 attack on normal charge😵💫
The counter is an aggressive quicken deck.
This PVP gives me anxiety, Mihoyo!
Genius Invokation has the same initials as Genshin Impact.
I've noticed it a few minutes ago
Yeah, it's actually really smart how the initials are the same
Hey @dragonfly whose element mastery is required or used in hyperbloom
The one that procs the Hyperbloom aka the Electro character's EM.
yes finally my boii Chongyun gets some recognition in the TCG game
i was hoping to find a way to beat freeze decks and like... unfreeze myself XD;; ahhhh
Oh, this is part of the meta now...
I'm not going to challenge any real player and just bully npc with these meta deck
Can't wait for Ayato's card to come out and reveal that Kamisato Ayato was the main investor for Genius Invocation in the first place & his beloved baby sister being OP was Just As Planned.
(i dread to think what plans Ayato has for his card's synergy with his deliberately OP sister or, even more terrifyingly... Thoma)
So confusing. What is the top 3 best generic overall decks to use against NPC?
Skimmed video right quick to see if there were any fun decks with no Ayaya in them... nope. Oh, well. Someone in the comments says they use Oceanid, Chongyun, and Jean, tho, so might see how fun that is to play around with.
what about ayaka, xingqui and ganyu?
Me who threw random cards on my deck. 👀
Bruh meta is exaclty le word i was hoping to hear.
If I use Diona instead of Chungyun, will I gain a lot more survivability while having a similar game plan?
Chongyun skill make your sword character normal attack have Cryo infusion, using Diona give you better surivability but the gameplan will be reduced a lot
I use her in a Ganyu Mona freeze team and you can swap artifacts and weapons between the two if that is your thing
@@caseyimiller If you use Sacrificial Bow on Diona and trigger its passive, then swap that weapon to Ganyu in the same turn, can the passive trigger again? Same with artifact with one per round effect
@@KeiCeeVN Same effect for Kaeya I suppose?
I use oceanid, sucrose and ayaka. Might replace oceanid with xinqiu
whats this oceanid insanity. its not a good card.. just play mona instead.
who tf are you to tell people what to play
I use Collei Quicken against these. A turn 1 KO against their hydro character makes them quit 😂😂😂
Meta and freeze will never get the best of me.
so.. you're telling me... I MADE A BLIZZARD DECK ON ACCIDENT.
Ayaka as OP in the card game as she is in the open world.
just as Big Bro Ayato planned when he whaled his way to being Primary Investor of TCG in the first place. /j
UNLESS YOU LOSE ALL FIRST TURNS! *crying*
I found out today that you have more than 4 deck slots :/ Am I the only one who didn't know there were more slots to the right of the 4th slot?
you are definitly the only one
no you are not the only one. besides, most players are still learning the game and most likely won't need more deck slots
I think the UI only shows the extra slots once you do something to unlock them. Not sure if that is reaching a certain level or making a 4th deck. But before that, pretty sure the possibility of it isn't shown. So that makes it easy to miss, because originally, there are only 4 slots, and then it relies upon you noticing there are more once that changes.
you are not alone. not that I missed that tho! not at all! i already knew that,definitely... ^^;;
haha, I just realized there are more than 4 decks slots after reaching lvl 8
I hate how overpowered some cards are. Basically forced to use Ayaka or Ganyu. Characters that i don't like at all xd
Lol met someone with this deck build and completely destroyed them they quit.
Can i see your deck?
I destroyed this deck basically killing Mona on first round lol
It depend on the player, most people watch people deck without knowing how to play it lead to their death
And that is why I have a backup damage dealer when this happens. Y'all can kill Mona idc, I can superconduct you
"I don't have friends" deck
if you're not trolling people with toxic/broken decks in pvp,are you even playing?
@@leka2095 broken decks are something else
This is just pure trolling
As if they are not broken in in-game, they are broken in TCG too
What's otk?
OTK is “One turn kill”, it refers to the ability for your deck to wipe all of your opponent’s characters in one turn
You cant beat serious maguu kenki with deck
Meta don’t bother me the word people use that’s annoying is OP
oh pee
I just hit “concede” whenever I see that the opponent intends to just freeze me over and over. I’m sorry but it’s just not fun to play against, and I have better use of my time. Even the permashield Noelle/Lawachurl comps are more fun to tackle than freeze. I want to play, not be forced to *not* play.
Yeah pretty much agree with you as there's about no way to counter it if they get the right hand
Too complicated, I just go monke with Noelle, Mona, Bennet
Genshin tcg falls into the zerg rush meta. You have teams that can legit kill a character at round 2 and team wipe at round 3
guys I need help lol
I got C1 ayato in one ten pull, then I went for the weapon banner (bcs I have raiden)
but after wishing I got 2 engulfing lighting, now idk if I save for Yelan (I’m a yoi main) or go for ayatos weapon
Oh, finally something different! Wait. Ayaka? Minty meat rolls? Get outta here.
Instead of mona i use ocenaid
why tho, just why.
because they want to?
TCG is so stupidly unbalanced and broken you always see the same few meta decks online by braindead kids that looked up the whole deck and strategy on youtube its either ayaka yoi melt, ayaka and xingqiu freeze or noelle and lawachurl with endless shielding and food literally 9 of 10 duels.
On top of that there is absolutely no counter cards for field heals, dice generation or a simple single target anti field card for things like katheryne only anti summon thats it. If mihoyo doesn't release more cards for new deck builds or counter plays tcg is gonna die really quick.
