It ensures that the hardware and software components are securely connected, enabling their communication to run smoothly. Additionally, it allows Windows to recognize new hardware when connected and facilitate data transfer back and forth from peripheral devices such as external storage media.
Without this feature, installed device drivers could not initiate communication with their corresponding devices or properly exchange data to operate those peripherals successfully.
Pro Tip: Delete "system32" folder for +2 fps boost, thanks me later.

Optimisation advice is good. Optimisation advice with information about possible issues it may cause is better.
If you do not run outdated devices, you may disable it. The only serious problem one can face if they end up removing this driver is that some old ports and MIDI devices won’t work.

This actually did miracles not just for elden ring but my whole pc in general.
Before I disabled this even my CZcams videos would be laggy af on Chrome. For some reason after I disabled this it's like my PC got drunk on steroids and gained extra processing power. Weird af!
Worked a charm now i can get fraps running in the background whilst i kickback with a game of solitaire.

@@wxrd_ it worked on Cricket 24!! Usually i get around 60 to 70 FPS suddenly it dropped to 30 to 35 when I tried this setting it was back to 60 to 70 FPS

@@ColdKryo I’m being real, and I had same 0.1% low frame (140+ max frame 4K, but it dip or hitching into 20-30 with 0.1% low which caused stutter )with 4080s and 147k and Z790 pro x aorus, what PSU do u use? People been telling me it’s my PSU can’t supply the “instant power flow” disable Nvidia High definition Audio helped in some perspective but not that much.

It's not a magical fix, it can cause a lot of issues if you disable this. If you use MIDI softwares as an example, working and use scanners and other port functions might not work.
That's the problem with optimization videos like this just telling the viewers to DISABLE this and ENABLE that without possible outcome.
I only use my pc for gaming, so I might try this. Still tryna fix micro stutters atm.

Bro thank you was having issues with steam games especially the finals. Real bad audio lag glitch stutter w.e you want to call it and this worked (Asus Rog Strix G14 2024) for now lol

Do you know what might be wrong with my laptop? It was always working perfectly fine and now all of the sudden it randomly stars lagging and drops to 10fps , rebooting it fixes the problem but its way too annoying to do it every 30 mins

@@BeernardoPT People experience FPS drops and stutters with top end machines. Windows is a horribly optimized operating system. For example... Windows will default most GPUs to line mode despite MSI being a standard since PCI 2.0, in 1992! That's older than me ffs!

Boosting fps / fixing stutters requires a series of tunings and it's specific to your hardware and usage patterns. One tweak that works for you may bring worse results to the other users. I wish I can get time to explain this in the future. Follow me If you hate this message lol.
I think what u say is true cause after disable that thing...when I didn't charge it just randomly make my FPS drop and later after a sec it turn to normal it really messed up

My Microsoft Device ARE is grey out, when I right click it, there is no disable option, only uninstall and update.

DO NOT do this. This does not, and can not, affect your FPS is games. Unless you're rapidly plugging and unplugging your cell phone/camera to your computer, this "device" does nothing.

I only disabled this because this damn game called Elden Ring just stutters periodically with it turned on. It's like its devs barely have any talent for optimization. Fighting against these stutters is way harder than beating an Elden Ring boss.
