Well, quite simply it is a social construct that the care lies with the mother. And it is and was a rarity that these tasks were left to the father. I'm not saying that this is okay. But it is also not okay to say that the mother is the creator of life. Because as a woman you are essentially only the "recipient" but the fetus lives and develops in the uterus of the mother and not the father. I think it's time to change all this narratives!

My youngest son I have custody arrangements where I get my son every Tuesday, Thursday and every other weekend. I’ve been consistent for the last 3 years. I buy all his clothes, school supplies etc. I pay $360 in child support. Oh and his mother works for the state and her income is double of mine.

So let me get this straight, women get to decide whether or not they want to conceive a child and men are automatically responsible (while being enforced by the judicial system) for her choice? Makes sense.

Why do people always balk when they are given facts and information that goes against what they’ve been told told their entire lives?

Because the moment illogical thoughts meet logical scrutiny it immediately forces the person to think critically and see how silly/hypocritical/unfair etc. that thought is.
For most people they don't like that feeling of being in a situation where they now understand they're wrong and have to openly admit it. So naturally it's deflect-o-clock when that happens.
