I don't really do any projects. I just love your enthusiasm and zest for life. Enjoying this new chapter in your life. Love ya from Canada!
Me too 😂
Leah I appreciate you so much! I found you a couple of years ago and I'm so glad I did! Thank you so so much for making these videos! ❤️
Back in the day I used to blown on the mud and then skip trowel it we call it knock down. These textures hides a lot of imperfections. Thanks Grandpa Tom
Omgosh I had the dripped look on my ceilings in my house growing up. My parents did it. I haven't seen that since like in 20 years!!😱❤️🙂
I watch just to hear Leah tell me I can do it. Love her energy.
Hey cool new intro! Great to see you again!
We’ve been playing with mixing applying Japanese clay plaster lately. Fun! Different textures and colors make a huge difference. 😃
Leah I love you so much! Down to earth, pleasant to listen to, informative, and just a real person all around.
I love your genuine, warm smile and boosting all us up so "we can do this💪". I can listen everything you say without getting bored. Thank you so much and be well always 🥰❤️
This is exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks Leah 🙌🏻 Hope you are doing well 🥰
I am heavy into project and craft. Always refer to your vids for a quick tip. No BS, straight to the business. Love it!
I Really enjoy Leah's video's!!!! She's so positive & enjoyable to listen to And explains everything plainly & understandably. 😊💞👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much that's exactly what I needed and I love the way you deliever the knowledge!
Usually, I'm looking for answers for random ideas that I have, and you have the answers and videos Im looking for with great instructions that are right to the point. Thank you for being our the go-to resource!
A couple years ago you showed how to do the Knockdown texture. I tried it on my old plaster walls that had dozens of small cracks in them and the walls turned out absolutely beautiful!!! An owner of a home repair company saw the room and was shocked that I learned it from your videos and did it all myself! Love your channel.
I never get tired of listening to her!!!
Im so happy you're back Leah, you always have a way of brightening my day when im down ❤
One thing that's really nice about your Channel... you NEVER talk down to anybody. Even though you're the pro and a lot of people should know this, you explained it well for those who don't know it like me.
Hey Leah, love ya lady!! The world needs more Leah’s!! Great teaching class! Is there anything you DON’T know how to do!?!?😁 Your a one in a million genius my friend!! Keep it goin!!
Thanks for this video, Leah. I’m back to working on my rental house again. It’s in dire need of texture on the ceiling and at least a couple walls in as many rooms. I’ve been watching and rewatching all your paint, wall repair and wall texture videos. Ordered 2 of the textured rollers you showed some time ago and am getting all my knowledge from you...even how to remove a rusty frozen screw in the drywall I had to remove. Oh and the tip for how to cut out for the dryer vent. That drywall area needs replacement too. (But I couldn’t find that marking tool any longer at Amazon so I winged it.) Your videos are the best and I feel like I really can do things after you explain everything. Thanks again!
It’s like you’re sensing disturbances in the DIY grid and responding with the appropriate How-To video! I have a ceiling and some walls in a new project that have seen better days and I was just wondering about doing a new texture. Thank you for the info! :)
Thank you, my brothers were into construction work and this is just the things I use to see them do.
Great information Leah ! I particularly like the skip trowel with the sand! Thank you
Hey, Leah! So glad to find your channel. My hubs and I are restoring a historic house and doing the work ourselves. I don't find a lot of women on CZcams doing the actual work so this is super helpful.
Welcome to the channel
I love the way you explain, you are a beautiful person, you have a big impact on my life keep going, and stay as you are
Greetings & Salutations, I just have to say that I find your videos extremely insightful and are enjoyable to watch! I have been a maintenance tech for quite a few years now, I even studied to be one through the Job Corps program, and I find myself looking for tidbits of info to help with repairs as well as for general curiosity. (And) I must say that your channel is a treasure trove of knowledge. So thank you for all the wonderfully informative videos you've shared & keep up the great work!!!
Yep, I've done all of those styles occasionally for clients, and you've shown essentially the way I go about it for each.
🖖😎👍
Can this be used if I want texture on an outdoor patio wall?
Thank you for your crash course in textures!
I wish I could like your videos more than once, they're always everything I'm looking for and more!
Great information as always....thanks for posting
Good to see you, great video!
Thanks Leah. Another great video. 💕✌️🌱
Good information, as always. Thanks, Leah.
Another great video, thank you!
Dang Leah, you are getting things done! Look at that organization.

Really informative never thought of adding water to bucket
You look great! Love your videos and especially your intro. Keep 'em coming, please! Be well!
What a wonderful suprise!!!
It's really nice to see a comment from you.
@@seejanedrill I'm so glad to see you!
Thanks for the video. I've been wondering how to fill in or patch small holes and get the texture to match.
Hmm. Beautiful.
This particular video was a godsend to me! Thank you! I can now texture a wall like a pro....well, almost. Lol.....
Would you please do a video on how to install a fireplace mantel onto a fireplace brick "shelf" and wall? I am going to buy a new one, but have no idea how to mount it.❤
This was awesome!!!!🥰😇😂
Great video !!! Question once i saw this guys put some dishwasher soap and mixed ... did you now why? Thanks in advance... love the way you explain your videos. 👌🏽
I'm sorry I missed your video, but I will be watching for the next one. Do you come on at the same time every Friday?
Oh and I'll be doing the roller texture for my ceiling because it wasn't sand down enough before the guys painted my bathroom.
Two other questions I have is to ask you, is there anything else I could put on my bathroom ceiling to improve the look of lux, and how can I improve the look of my bathroom cabinets they are old and have a indentation craved into the doors and cand draws? Thanks for showing us how to bring value to our homes..Have a bless day
Leah, when can you come to Wisconsin and hold some workshops? Subscribed.....
I definitely appreciate you from watching your videos in the past ... my question is how to thicken it almost like a clay consistency?
Don't add water
I'm looking into doing some pieces on some plyboard and framing them
Love ur videos….can u add ceiling or wall paint to the drywall to colour it …Im in Australia ❤
Hi Leah, can you tell me more about an JC accelerators? I use JC in crafts to get a "recently found artifact" or faux stone finish. Wondering if drying faster makes the JC brittle?
Director, can I use 90 to apply some thickness? Is it solid? Can I mix colors with it or on top of it? I want a material close to Venetian plaster. What do you advise me? Thank you for everything you provide.
Nice video. A nice addition to this video might be some solutions for achieving the opposite effect. My hallway has some speckled `spachtelputz` finnish which I was trying to make flat again. The several attempts I've made so far (eg. sanding and lightly chisling down the texture) seemed to not do the job for me. My next attempt is to thinly recoat my walls in plaster again, although getting it smooth looks like a daunting task.
I have made a couple of videos on removing texture
@@seejanedrill thanks, I’ll check them out 😁
@seejanedrill
What about the texture for the flat kind that are a bunch of different patterns that look rolled on? I guess you could describe them as rugged cloud shapes, because you kind of see shapes of different things depending on which blob you look at.
You always come up with fascinating ideas Leah
Leah please can you tell me how I get COLOUR to my compound mix?
I’m on there too! Same name
Thank you so much for all your videos. You have no idea how much money and aggravation you have saved me the past few years.
Question...if I want to retexture a wall, can I just do it over the existing paint or do I need to put a primer coat on first?
There is adhesive in the joint compound which will help it adhere to the surface but priming will help the process.
@@seejanedrill Awesome....thank you!
How much of a nap do you want on that roller, not much? how much? I don't want too much texture on the ceiling. Thank You-
Then we let the texture dry and apply paint over? Primer and paint, or just paint?
No need for primer if you're going to paint with flat paint. Use primer for paints with a sheen
Do you have a video on how to knock down texture...say..an orange peel then flatten the tips...? not sure i described that right.

Hi Leah 👋, I have learned alot. I need your help. I bought a house that has texture walls and was painted over. I want them smooth what would be the best thing??? I've tried sanding with and 80 grit but I'm not seeing progress. PLEASE HELP
I think Im making video this week about this very thing
@@seejanedrill ok great I'll turn my notifications on Thanks
Can I use the red box it’s all purpose joint compound ?
Name brand?
What specific sand do you use for a sand skip trowel mix?? Where can I find "silica " sand"????
A building material supply store which specializes in brick, masonry and plastering supplies usually carries silica sand.
@@seejanedrill thanks ! I found out that pool supply stores carry 20/30 pool filter silica sand . It of course very clean white sand but it works nonetheless. A 50 pound bag only cost around $15 dollars. It's more than enough sand needed for my house.
I'm about to buy a house with THICK Spanish knife textured walls. It's so thick I could get my pinky under the 'folds' 😅. Any ideas how I can remove it? Thanks
👍👍👍👍👍
I have skip trowel ceilings in my "cookie cutter" house and can see where the Spanish one could look nice especially in the South West. With that, I think stipple is terrible & impractical if you ever want to clean or repaint the surface. I do like the skip trowel on my ceilings though. They are flat enough to not gather webs & it is a nice finished look.
Oh, & when I was a kid I helped do a stipple (or maybe pop corn) wall & I was handed a fly swatter to create the texture. 😅
How about the mix for sculptures on the wall? Love the trees but never see the mix ratio
I think there's an accelerator added
When is Jane going to drill?
Wow thanks I never knew this and I’ve textured walls.
Renova can be a pain in the but and as it is rough and you hit your head against the wall by accident it is going to hurt.
We have a swirly trowel look to our ceilings. Just hate it. Interesting video though!
I can’t find you on Tik Tok
Please put your link
I really enjoy and look forward to your posts. But what was the real point of this one?
There is the misconception that one should always mix texture to a pancake batter consistency. I wanted beginners to know that, that is not the case.
@@seejanedrill ok thanks a lot keep up the good work!
great job #HUNTERUSA
The timing couldn't be better, had rain come in sideways around the stovepipe and I have texture paint falling off the ceiling as it dries out!
What about popcorn texture I think that's what they call it
It"s a product texture you purchase and it's sprayed on
Up
my problem is the opposite: horrible textured walls and ceiling that only assist spiders in webbing everything. I have been considering options to make it smooth. Probably going to need a couple of layers of thin substrate to do that But I am reluctant to use JC because it's not a natural material. I'm looking on YT for spanish, moroccan, primitive recipes I can DYI that will give me even a better look and non toxic.
Good luck to you, my daughter has the same problem!
That's a tough one. For the cost of the materials & effort it might be better to just rip it out & hang new sheet rock.
I always though it was paint.
had that textured look in my KITCHEN when i bought the house..................DONT EVEN WANT TALK ABOUT STRIPPING THAT OFF THE CEILING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, you did that yourself? Congratulations! Same problem here, how did you do it?
With really thick/hard textures, I think it's worth considering to just knock down any really high spots and cover it with 1/4 or 3/8 inch drywall to start over.
Need to consider how you'll have to paint it too because Spanish Knife Technique and Stipple, most likely will not paint well with a 3/8" or even a 1/2' Roller Cover.
What’s your tiktok name? I can’t find it for some reason
