    Looks like a great bike for the price range! FYI it's also on sale right now on their site, down to $1,399 for US.

    A good quality e-bike you could fit a cage basket to for small shopping trips,especially if elderly and living in a hilly area like I do.

    Full UL certification on the bike and battery is impressive. You didn’t mention the charger though, which is perhaps as important as the battery.

    So how come we never see front load bakfiet style cargo bikes on here?

    Battery is pretty small, with so many 1-3 kwh bikes coming to market. Would be nice if they had this battery as a starter with a larger battery option at the time of purchase and/or combo with the smaller battery and a larger battery.

      Almost nobody rides over 30 miles in a day and with a bit of pedal this bike does that and the battery charges in about 6 hours so why carry all the extra weight?

    • @g00fysmiley
      @g00fysmiley Před 8 měsíci

      @mrc1436 because some of us do ride more than that on a given day. Personally my commute is 11.6 miles each way. Add in any stops for groceries or errands and I am probably averaging 28-32 miles per day. On Mondays I also run across town after work for a DnD game, so that's usually a 40 mile day. If it's fine for youbgrart. I actually like the bike and might consider it as a replacement for my aging Aventon Level, but the battery is too small for my needs so hoping they make that so I would then consider buying it.

    • @mrc1436
      @mrc1436 Před 8 měsíci

      @@g00fysmiley a second battery is $399 and this bike can easily carry a second battery when needed (your 40 mile day)
      But again most of us don’t put on 40 miles in a day or bring your 3 amp charger and plug it in for an hour or two while your playing, that should give you plenty of power to get 40 miles

    • @g00fysmiley
      @g00fysmiley Před 8 měsíci

      @@mrc1436 naw, its just a pass. unless there is a larger battery. Also in the US the average commute is 42 miles, so its this 691wh battery that is not acceptable for the average US commute. I have it on my spreadsheet for options but with an asterisk of if they release a 1kwh or large battery and make it an option. On charging, not everybody can charge at work and/or want to buy and carry a second battery. I just want to upgrade what comes with it to make it useable.
      As noted a lot of bikes are moving towards 48V 20AH batteries for this very reason. I am sure Velotric will eventually up the battery size to better reflect what is needed. If it an in town bike and you live downtown then this actually looks like it is good, just not up to realistic commuting distances as a car replacement

    Electric bikes are not fitness bikes.

      Have you ridden an e-bike? You absolutely can get a ton of exercise on one.

      @Krahamus Před 8 měsíci +3

      Yes they are, but not as much as normal bikes, if you use pedal assist it will boost your speed and will help climbing hills more easily, but you still going to need to put effort doing so

    • @WarBuch
      @WarBuch Před 8 měsíci +3

      Fitness is for everyone, don't forget that. Ton of people get into fitness by using e-bikes as a starting point (or even as their daily fitness machine since it still takes work to pedal these things, especially on lower PAS levels). I bike mine to the gym and it's very effective as my pre-workout cardio.

      My knees don't like regular peddle bikes anymore. E Bikes have helped keep me on a bike and with peddle assist with a throttle I can get exercise and take a break while still going. When I don't want the exercise I ride my standup E scooter 😂
