Very informative! ✝️I love the fact there’s a 2 year candidate formation before the entering of the seminary that allows the teaching of Latin and French to become more of a versatile and bilingual skill which would be essential as a potential future Priest.

The question would be better put: " *Are* you Canons", not "Why are you *called* Canons". It also *happens* to enable quite a few ceremonial peculiarities that don't apply to "simple" priests...
Do you need to know French well. If you don't have the faculty of language is there any way to make it?
The seminary curriculum is in French. It is the biggest reason people go FSSP
@@mentalwarfare9040 I belong to an oratory run by the ICKSP, how do you know this? Have you done a questionnaire or study with the FSSP regarding this? This sounds doubtful
@danacaro-herman3530 many of my friends have done a week of discerning in Chicago with the icksp. They have taken french classes while living there and say that seminary studies are hard already. French makes it a lot harder. All of them opted to go somewhere else because of this.
@@mentalwarfare9040 It happened with a few of our candidates as well but they don't stay for a week, it's a year long discernment, but they are free to leave at any time. Some went on after their year of discernment, others haven't. The French may have been one of the factors. I apologize for my forwardedness in doubting your statement. But a week is all your friends lasted? That's not long at all. Dominus Vobiscum 🙏
@@danacaro-herman3530 you're confusing the week they stay with Canon Talarico in Chicago, where they receive the offer, to the year they live at one of the houses. My friends left after the week in chicago. They said that it would be easier to just join the fssp
