    First-time viewer, I found this after watching Myles Christian's Answering Adventism. This video helped me out so much. I'll need to watch this video multiple times. I was 3rd generation SDA, and when my mother's health started failing her, I specifically went to the woman's ministry at my home church for guidance and was completely ignored. I didn't let that stop me from seeking God in my season, so I went straight to the Bible. I looked for SDA in the Bible and couldn't find it anywhere. Thus, my journey began. I now know the true Gospel and can only praise God that He protected me during my difficult season. Thank you thank you thank you.

    We get confused I believe when we don't grasp the full gospel. Some may put more emphasis on rules, laws at the exclusion of Love, but that doesn't change that God empowers us to love others by also showing respect to boundaries. Think when we say that the 10 commandments are done away with, or that we aren't also to accept them, we are saying essentially that it's not part of God's character. Does it mean we are saved by law-keeping? No,... but by Grace, God gives us a desire to treat others fairly and justly. The Old Covenant concept- had to do with the Israelite's ideas of "how to form a righteous character." they mistook that they could keep God's law at Mt. Sinai,, but they didn't grasp that God was promising to "write his law in their hearts".. He was reminding them of his original Everlasting Covenant with them that had been instituted post the Fall at the Garden of Eden. The 10 commandments in stone were also a reminder of "Who he was" and what's God's like. The covenant hasn't changed. Enoch, Elijah, Moses, Abraham, Noah were not changed into holy men by a different method than Paul, the disciples, etc after the cross. The same Christ who changed them,, also offered his outstretched hand to save, change and mold the men before the cross.
    I'm wondering that when people say "Heritage Adventism" they are referring to the altered writings of SOP- considered to be EGW's writings.. but were edited by the 6- member committee post 1888 (Comprised of Uriah Smith, Butler, Haskell, WC White, Waggoner - father of the EJ Waggoner, and one other).. who altered her books, Great Controversy 1888 printed in the US (not Australia's version- which she also did one, but it was in actually printed in 1890), and then the testimonies some (altered by Prescott substantially). Think this is one reason we see conflicting statements when it comes to prophecy even and the 7 trumpets. Froom, we need to remember was part of the committee also in later years who altered her statements in Evangelism. You can get original reprints of SOP books from the organization: "Echo's of the Past" website (Verne Bates publications). vbates.com/.
    you can learn about the changes to the 1888 and 1911 Great Controversy from this site: czcams.com/video/rBqJmUAat4s/video.html; czcams.com/video/9K07r_igkmw/video.html

    • @blueticks8423
      @blueticks8423 Před 17 dny

      It’s not so much that it’s been canceled. It has been, like all things in the New Covenant, transformed and taken on a new and better shape. Hebrews 4:1-11 is all about this once you see it. It’s about the heralding in of the new rest, the new creation, etc….Answering Adventism has a lot of content on this subject. But I’ll leave you with this thought. The entire book of Hebrews is about how what was in the old covenant has been replaced and transformed into something new and better by the messiah. If Hebrews 4:1-11 is not talking about a new and better Sabbath, then this subject would be an anomoly in the epistle. I think this alone proves that the seventh day, old creation sabbath has been superseded and absorbed into something a thousand times better. The sabbath rest of belief in Christ and blessings of the new creation. Blessings to you. 🙏🏼 I pray you find your way. I’m fairly newly out as well after 30+ years. It’s better than I could have imagined to be out.

    • @jamesandres6312
      @jamesandres6312 Před 17 dny +4

      The Sabbath was the sign to Israel of the Mosaic Covenant (Exodus 31:16-17; Ezekiel 20:12; Nehemiah 9:14). Since we are now under the New Covenant (Hebrews 8), we are no longer required to observe the sign of the Mosaic Covenant.
      The New Testament never commands Christians to observe the Sabbath. In Colossians 2:16-17, Paul explicitly refers to the Sabbath as a shadow of Christ, which is no longer binding since the substance (Christ) has come. It is quite clear in those verses that the weekly Sabbath is in view. The phrase "a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day" refers to the annual, monthly, and weekly holy days of the Jewish calendar (cf. 1 Chronicles 23:31; 2 Chronicles 2:4; 31:3; Ezekiel 45:17; Hosea 2:11). If Paul were referring to special ceremonial dates of rest in that passage, why would he have used the word "Sabbath?" He had already mentioned the ceremonial dates when he spoke of festivals and new moons.
      In our only glimpse of an early church worship service in the New Testament, the church met on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7).
      Nowhere in the Old Testament are the Gentile nations commanded to observe the Sabbath or condemned for failing to do so. That is certainly strange if Sabbath observance were meant to be an eternal moral principle.
      There is no evidence in the Bible of anyone keeping the Sabbath before the time of Moses, nor are there any commands in the Bible to keep the Sabbath before the exodus.
      When the Apostles met at the Jerusalem council (Acts 15), they did not impose Sabbath keeping on the Gentile believers. The apostle Paul warned the Gentiles about many different sins in his epistles, but breaking the Sabbath was never one of them.
      In Galatians 4:10-11, Paul rebukes the Galatians for thinking God expected them to observe special days (including the Sabbath).
      In Romans 14:5, Paul forbids those who observe the Sabbath (these were no doubt Jewish believers) to condemn those who do not (Gentile believers).
      The early church fathers, from Ignatius to Augustine, taught that the Old Testament Sabbath had been abolished and that the first day of the week (Sunday) was the day when Christians should meet for worship (contrary to the claim of many seventh-day sabbatarians who claim that Sunday worship was not instituted until the fourth century).

    • @blueticks8423
      @blueticks8423 Před 17 dny +4

      @@jamesandres6312 exactly. Well said. You explained that very well.
      I would add this:
      Hebrews 4:1-11 speaks of the Sabbath Rest for believers in Christ. Exegetically this is speaking of Jesus being our new Sabbath Rest. The theme of the entire epistle is a contrast of the New and Old Covenants and how what was in the Old is now updated, made new and made infinitely better by the Atonement and Priesthood of Christ. If Hebrews 4:1-11 is NOT heralding in a new, better Sabbath in place of the old, then it is a complete anomaly. It would not fit within the framework of the rest of the Epistle and would have been very strange to even be mentioned. When I finally realized that; it was game over for me.

    Can someone please explain why there is a huge move back to Feast keeping ( all 7) speaking and learning Hebrew, calling Jesus Yeshua or Yahusua, keeping the Sabbath according to the true lunar calendar , to be saved.
    Apparently if you keep Sabbath according to the Gregorian calender you are essentially following the beast power Rome.
    Many ex Adventists are doing this, myself included, but my journey has been halted as I search for truth .
    What is causing this movement?
    It is worldwide and growing .
    Apparently, Heaven is not an option, it never was. We are to spend the millennium on earth ruling with Jesus🤔
    It's like there is a movement to return to the old testament way of life because even though Jesus fulfilled 4 of the 7 feasts, there are 3 left to be fulfilled, they are the feasts of Yahweh , His special feasts that He commanded us to keep.
    They are first mentioned back in Genesis 1:14 where it talks about the lights being for signs and seasons, season actually meaning = Moedim= Feasts.
    And why would a God of love and order give people commands in the old testament , that He punished them for not keeping if He knew they couldn't keep them perfectly, ever, in the first place.
    How does this even make sense?

      The sabbath was the mark of God for Israel pre new covenant. It was never for us gentiles. The commandments are important for Christian’s, they’re based on natural law which God places in our hearts and minds by the Holy Spirit, that is the seal of God now. The way I see it is, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to keep the sabbath, we can but the sabbath should never take Jesus’ place. Only Jesus saves and He is the Way. Just try replacing the sabbath in your mind and heart with Jesus. Instead of saying “oh thank God for the sabbath” say thank God for Jesus. Any thought about the sabbath replace it with Jesus. The sabbath has become an idol for SDAs.

Have you looked into the ''H.S. is a woman'' movement and where it takes you? The problem with Dr Branner is the same with all formers...they justify their actions from behind an SDA straw-man of their own devising... that doesn't exist. How do you reason with that?

      @@ThinkingNat2 ""One of the first things the Holy Ghost took me was to the Book of Ezra...''SHE'' said I want you to sit down and read this book''. I mentioned 'about' 1:18:50... starts at about 1:18:45. I'll correct the starting time. This husband and wife team were bright lights that went out. Sorry, I've been where they are...I was raised in it. Sad day when SDAs with all their advantages abandon ship for this sin and live theology. Nat, I hope you're not just 'thinking' but 'watching' where this all leads. Lord bless
