A very powerful and moving song. I have an accepting family but my love goes out to all the LGBT people who are alone because they aren't accepted by their families.

Hello Tom, with each passing year I realize how lucky I am to have the family I do. My parents, 6 siblings, aunts, uncles, 23 nieces and nephews, plus multiple cousins, all accepting of myself, and others in the family who are gay. In fact, we're pretty much a United Nations of a family with white, black, Asian, among others, and Jewish, catholic and atheist, all happily getting along. But in the end, we all can choose who we want as family, but my heart goes out to those who must do so against what they otherwise desire. Happy Holidays!

Thank you! This is a classy song that describes my feelings that I've had for years. It got better when I started to stay with my husband. But now I have almost lost him to Alzheimer's. He is not himself anymore, and I had to bring him to a memory care home.
Well, nevertheless I believe that some day I will find a new partner. And I believe that I will find a new duty by helping poor people (which I have already tried before). This should give me a great pleasure!

What a song! Live life the way you see it is what makes life worth living❤️. At 19 I found my own truth and even thou I'm not gay, I can relate. I lost family for the choice I made, which was living my truth and loving whom I wanted. In 30 years some of that family has accepted my choices but those who don't have missed out on one hell of a life

Been in one relationship for going on 30 years, those years have changed my partner to becoming reclusive. He doesn't want to expose himself to the general public. This Christmas has not been as happy as I would have liked. I visit my mother and her husband during this season, both are now ill one in intensive care during the holidays. While they are quite accepting of me being gay for all these years I still feel that there religious ties clash with mine. Feel like i'm wandering sometimes, just looking for a gay shoulder for support. Your video truly represents how I feel, so alone.

Excellent video. I'm sharing it. And in years past, I lived it, and pushed back by doing community meals at my church, or having my own Christmas with friends. Fortunately, my family came around, well the immediate family. Some cousins are still thumping their Bible's, their problem.

Love this... for many years I was outside after coming out. The hurt took along time to over come. Thanks to some very special people, they made me feel connected again.. Over time the hurt subsided and see the joy of "chosen family and friends"

I use to work at a gay bar and during the holidays you could see those that had no other place to go. My family accepts me, so it hurt when others couldn't go home.

Thanks Tom!...the song captures a feeling and an attitude for me that I have always felt at Christmas, before I ever even understood that I gay. It was always a time of unhappiness, arguing over who to visit and when, which parent got to spend Christmas Eve and morning, and the ugly violent fights between my parents over us...I was a child in a broken home in the 1960's and 70's....it got worse when I came out...it is now the most Hated part of the year for me, even though I am now close to 60....I find myself with specific family members and closest of friends to enjoy anything BUT Christmas. We all know the religion involved is a crock of shit and the dates of the birth of Christ is actually in the spring....so it's a celebration of hedonism and materialism and sharing with those closest to me....The politics and religion have managed to find their way into my life in some ugly and viscious ways...all I can do is ignore the stupidity and make the best of the situation. Wishing you a happy and peaceful season.

Thanks for this song. My family treats me like I don’t belong unless I’m spending all my money on them. My parents are dead. All my friends are dead. My so called gay for pay boyfriend is in prison. I have a constant headache 🤕 oh well looking forward to 2018. I’ll be alone on Christmas. Go to the gym. I have a friend in Jesus Christ so that’s really cool to know and have.

For me this song did not offer hope or encouragement. Lets think of all the positive strides that the LGBT community and parts of the heterosexual community have made together. There are churches, synagogues, politicians and even corporations offering support.
