    It is important to also drill the slab that the air-con unit is sitting on and flood with chemical or the termites will come up between both slabs. Also any air-con condensation pipes should be going to a drain if possible as any moisture close to the slab will create a conducive effect for termites-they need water!

    I don't know why all the mystery in measurements? It is a very basic formula: 4 ounces of chemical to 5 gallons of water.
    The reason they tell you to use "4 gallons" is because a full 5 gallon bucket will spill easily.
    The "solution" ;) is to use two (2) 5 gallon buckets. Fill one with water and pour half into another empty bucket (giving you two, half full buckets). Now measure 2 ounces of chemical in each and then mix back and fourth (called "boxing") for a couple of times.
    Now, pour 6 feet from each half filled, 5 gallon bucket or 12.5 feet for 5 gallons.
    Easy peasy!

    • @Methodical2
      @Methodical2 Před 10 měsíci +1

      Or just mix 4 gallons and not have to do the bucket to bucket mix...use a drill with a mixer paddle. That's easy peasy too.

    I used Taurus SC from a 78 ounce bottle. I discovered the active ingredient is water-soluble, so I relied on time and rain to drive it into the soil. I mixed it in five gallons bucket, and poured it liberally just as shown in this excellent video, but used little flags every ten feet along my entire house perimeter to know how far I should go with each bucket dump.. Did I trench, no. I was told by a reliable source that trenching is done by pest control companies because (a) they must do a complete and effective treatment in a single visit, and (b) they need to show their value in charging $2400 for the treatment. So, instead, I decided to use my access to my home whenever I want, and known water-solubility of the product, to not trench at all and apply it three times (spring summer fall). I poured it onto the ground against the house and foundation in ten foot segments. Voila...no termites! And I has carpenter ants visible around by wooden outbuilding shed, theyre gone, too. Frankly, after one application all seemed dead, but I did the summer and autumn applications anyhow. Three years later nothing still...but just to be sure, I applied it again this past summer twice, with a rainstorm in between (aboit a week between applications). I’m in Illinois, so the soil is moderate (not clay, not sand, more like topsoil). If my soil was clay, maybe I’d have to spend hours trenching, but the leaching into my soil seems enough. I’m merely sharing my personal experience so you can decide how to do it yourself. All the paid mastermind pest exterminators can get on here and tell us all the reasons trenching is mandatory,, but it wasn’t for effective treatment in my 20 year old home. Some might say that ground application washes away and wastes the chemical, to which I reply that I can waste a ton of it before I ever get to $2400 the exterminator was going to charge. Affect other insects further away when it washes away? Doubtful...trust me, I did it far enough away from a rain that it was in the ground and dry before any rain. If I’m told it doesn’t get deep enough to be effective, I’d say that my multiple treatments did get as deep as a single trenched treatment, but I can’t prove that other than I no longer have termite issues. $200 in Taurus SC and I’m good (two different years spaced 3 years apart). Take it for what it’s worth, if you disagree with how I did it then do it your own way. It’s all good. Peace ☮️ This is a good video, btw, re mixing and pouring of the chemical. Thanks for it, Joseph. Good stuff.

      Este producto no asusta ni repele las termitas, ya que mata a la colonia de termitas. Thermidor es un veneno que no puede ser detectado por la termita, por lo que la dosis no los asustará. El producto que utilicé en el video debe usarse fuera de la casa porque también es peligroso para los humanos. Se debe aplicar en el suelo alrededor de la casa como describí en el video. Si las cucarachas, las huidas, las hormigas o las garrapatas entran en contacto con las áreas tratadas, morirán después de varios días; sin embargo, si la casa ya tiene cucarachas, debe usar otro producto que pueda usar en interiores como Talstar P www.domyown.com/talstar-talstar-one-p-97.html

    i really dont understand why we cant just apply to top soil the ground is going to soak in the chemical up to six inches i get that the soil may soak a little bit further out from the target area but it seems like digging a trench is really just over kill

    • @josephk9182
      @josephk9182  Před 3 lety

      This is what the manufacture recommended after testing the product on top soil and when digging 6". It is guarantee to work when you put the substance in a 6"x6" trench . So the answer you can but per manufacture it is not guaranty to work.

      Not all soil can be easily penetrated. The product will just roll off hard clay soil. Not nonsense. The label says to do it a specific way for a reason. It's easy to do it right the first time or get someone to do it properly.

      Yes. I prepared 4 gallons of Termidor mix which is good for a trench of 10 feet x 6 inch x 6 inch.

      Of course. Every 8 years I do termite treatment for this property. I had an issue 8 years ago (2008) when I bought this property, so this is the second time I did the treatment for this property and since then I never have termites issue.

    for the fellow from the philippines copied this frommanother site....used lentrex myself and am very satisfied....use all precautions though when applying and storing treat like you would all poisonous chemicals...........Hi there. You might want to try Lentrex/Lantrex. You can get it at any ACE hardware store. AFAIK, almost all anti-termite chemicals have some form of carcinogens in them so that's why when you us them, it is not advisable to enter the treated area for a minimum of six hours. Latrex/Lentrex can be mixed with water and just spray the mixture over the exposed area....from pinoyhandyman.com/forum/in-and-out-of-the-house/home-maintenance-and-repairs/87-any-suggestion-on-a-good-termicide-anti-anay
