Really wish you would've taken a look at lag issues especially considering some of us watched this whole video in hopes to mirror to a separate device with 0 latency. What would you recommend for this use case or do you have another video on it?
Keep in mind, even the wired connections I've tried (QuickTime for example) still produce too much latency to be a viable gaming solution.

I utilized the screen mirroring with my iPhone connected to Mac, but for some reason when I rotate my phone it doesn't switch to portrait and landscape mode. Any suggestions on why my iPhone isn't switching to those different modes? Basically my iPhone won't switch to horizontal.

at 1:49, how did you get QuickTime to record and display in landscape as you phone is? My phone is recording in landscape but on the computer, it is portrait and I have to look at it sideways.

Really helpful video. I did encounter an issue though when I screen mirror using cable and quicktime: When I start recording on my phone, the screen mirroring freezes 3 seconds into the video however the phone is still recording. Once I stop recording the screen mirroring starts working again. Have you ever encountered this?

I am on a Windows based PC and am looking at using Reflector to do some recording of my iPhone to create videos for clients on how to use various Smart Home Apps. Is it possible to place the recording into an actual phone image (ie: shell like graphic of the iPhone) so the screen looks like it is on the phone itself? Thank you
Yes, you can do that in reflector itself, or add it in your editing too
This video was so helpful! Unfortunately, I am having trouble getting the picture to adjust between portrait and landscape when I pull up my camera to record with the front camera. Any suggestions?
I'm having the same issue! I pull up QuickTime, have it mirroring my phone, but the window doesn't rotate with my phone. It's really annoying and I haven't been able to find a single answer online as to why. My screen orientation isn't locked, so I don't know what else it could be.

In a previous video, you say to use your PC's 'Connect' app. I just spent an hour trying to make it work. Is that why you switched gears with the advice in this video?
My phone was not showing, so I restarted it and my mac and it's working now.
I'm tring to make an setup for interview using an imac as monitor, an iphone 11 as webcam and a shotgun for better audio.
Is very important to be simple to start these interviews, because is an old person that will operte the sistem himself.
Do you have any sugestion to make it work or a better solution idea?

I Justin thank you for your useful guide all works good with plug and QuickTime but with iOS 13.4.1 and iPhone 11 the mirroring don't switch automatically between Portrait and Landscape, It still remains on portrait on my Mac Monitor. Is there some solutions for this issue? Thank you

Was super excited about #1 until it didn't work. I hooked my iPhone directly to my brand new MBP and Quicktime froze at about the 6 second mark a number of times. Any thoughts? I assumed WiFi wouldn't be the issue because the phone is directly connected but I'm a newbie so maybe I'm wrong there. After some research I've seen other people have this issue as well but no resolution. Off to try some of the other suggestions. Great video tho! 😊

Wow, Justin! Thanks for sharing all this. I didn't know I could record my phone; and I even already have Quicktime! I have a new iMac 17" and the phone looks just beautiful on it! I'll have to shrink it for using in regular videos, but it looks gorgeous! Once in a while I've thought about phone demos in the past, but now it's worth the effort and I can actually do it!

I wanted to mirror my iPhone to my Sony mini projector MP-CLA1. Can’t seem to do it. Have to use Apple TV plugged into the wall and with HDMI cable to MP. Will reflector or air server apps resolve this?

I’ve been looking for a way to read DRM protected iBooks on my windows desktops as my posture isn’t good reading on a phone all the time, also viewing distance isn’t ideal since phone is so close

Hi As in your 1st example, I connected my Iphone 14 pro and my MacBookpro 16 inch 2023 using a lightning cable. Unfortunately, I can't get landscape mode with Quicktime on my MacBookpro... Please, how exactly did you proceed? Did you use another app with Quicktime? Best regards

I found it goes to landscape in certain apps but not in camera mode. I see your video is in camera mode ready to take a video but I cant get it to do this

When you're screen mirroring your iPhone and recording is it recording on the iPhone or on the computer? And is there there a way to choose which device it records on?
For these examples, the recording is done on the computer. iPhone does have built in screen recording if that's what you're after

Thanks Justin! You put this video together pretty well, so much so that you have encouraged me to try out Reflector. It's also not expensive. I certainly hope I will find success with Reflector. I could literally scream from frustration from trying to get other things to work, taking several Android devices (phone, tablet etc.) and installing host-and-client apps from all over the entire world and still nothing works. Having batteries die on me is one thing and easily addressed, but to have wireless devices cut connection with your laptop when you don't want to supervise them is beyond frustrating. Thanks again and I hope to taste success with Reflector!

Hey Justin I just got a new MacBookPro (iOS 10.14.6 Mojave). I also have and iPhoneX (iOS 13.1.1.2) both have ALL current iOS updates. The problem I'm having is that my iPhone safari browser is showing up on my laptop. When I swipe upper left corner to get to iPhone settings and got to screen mirror....a grey screen comes up and say screen mirror, but I'm just getting a spinning wheel...it's not showing my laptop so that I can disconnect. I thought it was iOS update issue, but still no luck. Thanks for any help.
