    Hey guys, forgot to mention something suuuuper important that I learned after posting this video in the Focus ST community. If you are going to clean your battery mounts with distilled white vinegar, you MUST neutralize it! You can do this by rinsing the terminal with distilled water or by dunking it in baking soda then wiping it clean. The last thing we want to do is hurt our BMS sensor by getting a corrosive agent in there.

      Btw, what's the weight difference from the old battery to the new one?

      They say it's ~34lbs but honestly it felt like less than that. I'm sure you can lose a lot more by using a proper lithium battery. Of course only do this if you're in a summer environment and don't need a bunch of CCAs. I didn't show it in the video but I also went into FORScan and set the BMS for the smallest battery Ford offers from factory which I believe was 42A. So far I've let my car sit for at least a week at the most and haven't had any starting or parasitic drain issues.

      @@NaviUpgrade Nice.. I'm on Florida so this will likely work for me then.
      Thanks for this upgrade suggestion. Any way I can shave weight off my car is a good way..

    Can’t wait to get my grimmspeed kit. How’s the battery doing

    • @NaviUpgrade

      It's doin okay. A bit difficult to start on cold cold days and when not driving for a week or so but it always starts up. Just did the Mele box and a Braile battery (literally a 5lb lithium battery) in my buddy's car the other day. If you have the budget and a place to keep your car on a balanced trickle charger I'd 100% go that route.

      Awesome. Just got my kit in the mail a week ago. Can’t wait to put it in this spring, already got more Parts stock piled up. Next RS brembo’s and a set of sparco wheels in the near future, probably during tax return time. But then I found a 2018 Race Red LE RS for sale for $40k with 38k Miles.....really tempting. Now i don’t know what to do. 😅

    • @NaviUpgrade
      @NaviUpgrade  Před 3 lety

      CyanLabs update is the Ford update. Their files download directly from Ford servers.

      Thanks for reply I have gone onto the ford sync software updates website and by useing the vin number from a 2020 built Ford Edge with sync 3 gives me the option to download and update to sync 3.4 for that edge sync system My sync 3 is a 2017 system v3.0 build 20204 before I try to update my sync to 3.4 would the 3.4 update be compatible or is there a difference between a 2017 sync and a 2020 sync system as in firmware I have done a sync 2 to sync 3 upgrade
      and by useing the vin number from the edge the sync 3 came from I have updated my sync 3 and maps to. F9 maps
      Hope you can help many thanks

    Good job! Can I fit this battery in diesel model? The batery is very heavy. Thanks!

    • @NaviUpgrade
      @NaviUpgrade  Před 3 lety

      REALLY good question. Since we never got the Diesel in the US I'm not super familiar with it. I know most truck diesels in the US are 24V to run block heaters etc. If your car is 12V I'm sure it would work. I'd be a bit concerned if it runs like a traditional diesel and needs to heat the block before starting... This battery might not have enough cranking power.

    • @javier8246
      @javier8246 Před 3 lety

      @@NaviUpgrade In europe is usual diesel motor, origin PSA. Only needs 12v to run like a petrol engine. I will check the battery mount. The battery of my diesel Focus weight at least 18Kg and have good cranking. Thanks for your answer!
