From what I heard from another comment in this video he said spoilers Something that the reboot world operates differently than Legacy where the Bakugan literally need to fight to survive where if they don't fight their life energy something is drained and they will die
This is funny because, in one of the last episodes of the reboot's first season, Spoilers they explain that Dragonoid lost most of his memory when the earth "fused" with Vestroia. Reboot Dragonoid's real name is "Maximus". The reboot universe also just straight up functions differently compared to Legacy. In the reboot, every Bakugan is literally required to fight in order to stay alive because, if I remember correctly, the brawls in the reboot provide energy for the Bakugan that are fighting and Vestroia. The whole conflict of Battle Planet (the first season of the reboot) comes from Tiko, the "antagonist" of season 1, wanting to make some sort of a "cure" for this so that no one has to fight each other to stay alive. He fails at creating what he wanted and instead creates a type of Virus that basibally turns the Bakugan and humans into Tiko's followers
Remember back in the O.G. season 1, where Drago disagreed with the necessity to battle? How he knew it was all worthless violence, even trying to convince his foes to stand down? All while Dan started out as a battle crazy idiot who couldn't even see reality? Seems the reboot flipped the script.
That's why I like OG Drago. He actually didn't like Dan at first along with him being the straight man in contrast to Dan who was this crazy kid who treats Bakugan like toys.
I would say reboot drago enjoys fighting for the sake of fighting (further explored by the series as a way of connecting with others). This makes sense as it goes in tandem with the reboot vestroian ecosystem and the more benign battle system of reboot bakugan. Drago however largely is opposed to senseless battles for the first 2 seasons which really makes the shift to him battling for sport in season 3 and especially season 4 really jarring. While I do like og Drago’s external motivations and find that they often served to accentuate the plot’s direness, illustrate the problems and unnatural nature of humans using bakugan (which was core to drago and Dan’s growth in becoming functioning partners), and made drago an interesting character, it caused serious narrative problems for perpetuating the series indefinitely like the producers wanted. While I think reboot Drago’s serve to enable/facilitate this much more easily, has a lot of areas to be explored, and Drago’s ignorance of earth and more juvenile demeanor gives him a lot of room for growth. Both characters aim to achieve quite different things in their stories and a lot of people’s take aways from this video are reductive and missing that fact.

There are many roles he did, i just highlighted the most recognizable ones.
I know the reboot gets so much hate (and some of them are for good reasons) but we all gotta admit that they were running out of ideas for the series back then
Wiseman was the worst jobber villain ever, Bakunanos were a mistake, and Rafe and Paige (especially Rafe) are the most underbaked newbies I've seen since Ace from New Vestroia. I definitely agree with that.
Not needing to bother matching lip flaps let the bakugans' VAs go hard with these monologues. Just compare what Drago said here to what Dan said in the same episode about the BT system being able to destroy the ultimate bakugan because "at the end of the day it's still a bakugan [mandatory awkward pause for lip flaps] so there"
People wonder why kids like this show so much, just listen. This dragon was giving speeches like optimus prime amd dishing out punches like Tyson. Who wouldn't like him?
I really love both Drago’s and they’re also voiced by Jason Deline I like Drago’s design in in the reboot especially small form but if only they would stop making him lose prematurely I’d like OG Drago he’s his details are has style lot of gold horn and golden horn eyebrows Both Drago’s are both strong and wised they’re not afraid to talk back
OG story is better being unafraid to dig deep to seek it’s potential but the Voice Acting and Animation of the Reboot is more confident, I remember finding Shun and Marucho’s voice very annoying or unfitting in the OG 🤘
It is a good think that spin master hired the same voice actor who did in the original. The bakugan series without dragonoid is nothing. No epic battles, no enemies who try to take ravenge on dragonoid, etc.
@@s.e.111films3 well maybe however the og bakugan was full of a lot of extra stuff that you needed otherwise you were not only missing out but at a significant disadvantage. You just can't keep up with them no matter what you do because there bakugan are all in the 900gs or even 1000gs and your best bakugan has only 700gs it was very bad
@@thelightcat777 I feel like some of that issue is simply people not applying house rules to make it more fun. Like ‘no Bakugan past a certain season of the show’ to prevent massive power creep unbalance from someone not having the newer toys Or excluding certain trinkets or having more than 3 ability cards Bakugan is so simple and flexible for kids, especially since some of the stuff- like battle gear cards and sky raider abilities were a bit complicated, so just do what you want with them and have fun like I did~
at first I hated reboot but after season 3 it's not bad tho, the think is we stuck in our nostalgia that's the problem... we should rather be happy that bakugan is still alive and young generation are getting into this game.. all I can say today's bakugan gameplay format far balance and better than what we had..
... Oh my god, WTF.... What fever dream did I enter that Drago had no clue WTF is a bus. OG Drago would look at a bus and just shrug it off as "This means nothing to me". I really like OG Drago. It's the balance between him and Dan. Dan loves to battle, to push his limits and the excitement while Drago purely wishes to fight for others, for his home and the sacrifices others made with a sense of pride and honor. He's basically a dragon version of Optimus Prime and I dig it. Now do Reboot vs OG Dan and I'll be like "NO... Reboot loses because OG Dan eats tacos with a spoon".
I haven't watched the reboot yet but I'll say this I really do like reboot Drago's design and how he looks like an actual dragon as opposed to the original Drago who, at least until he became Cross Dragonoid, looked more like a wyvern. Now if only he kept the originals personality it'd be perfect.
Gen 1 Drago hits different (pun intended) The other Dragos are fun too (its funny to see Gen 3 Dragi trying to be a drive thru seller only for him to take 1 hour to deliver something), but the old Drago will always have that "wise team dad" energy to him.
Reboot: Cheerleader for Bakugan Battle! OG: " maybe its because I've been in hundred of battles, and have face far more tougher opponents than you. Perhaps you forgot that I am...*PYRUS HELIX DRAGONOID!!* "
The Reboot is a lot more kid friendly, but at least there's no mistakes on par with the second half of Mechtanium Surge. That and the misguided rotating cast bullocks.
Having half of the cast always replaced felt a bit off to me in the OG, not that I hated the new cast, just felt weird how next season we'd have a new person with the old being more of a cameo (maybe a fight at most, though I only remember it being in New Vestoria). Like it would be nice to see a season 1 bakugan scaled up in season 4 to show (probably would help with the power creep issue?).
I feel like this comparison is unfair, since we are comparing a Drago that has never expererience earth, to a Drago that has experienced earth, and is fighting in that scene. I do love Og Drago
Reboot Drago: Only wants to fight, not that bright.
OG Drago: Fights as a last resort, wise leader, just wants to save his home.

I think all of us can agree that the original is great, compelling and epic masterpiece, unlike the reboot
I know the reboot gets so much hate (and some of them are for good reasons) but we all gotta admit that they were running out of ideas for the series back then
yea, bakunano was basically battle-gear but lazier
Wiseman was the worst jobber villain ever, Bakunanos were a mistake, and Rafe and Paige (especially Rafe) are the most underbaked newbies I've seen since Ace from New Vestroia. I definitely agree with that.
And let's not forget about the Mechtogan. For goodness's sake, the Mechtogan.
@@arikutin1032 we don't talk about them
@@arikutin1032 Dragonoid Destroyer 0-0
Not needing to bother matching lip flaps let the bakugans' VAs go hard with these monologues. Just compare what Drago said here to what Dan said in the same episode about the BT system being able to destroy the ultimate bakugan because "at the end of the day it's still a bakugan [mandatory awkward pause for lip flaps] so there"
That new artstyle cost him a few braincells
People wonder why kids like this show so much, just listen.
This dragon was giving speeches like optimus prime amd dishing out punches like Tyson. Who wouldn't like him?
I really love both Drago’s and they’re also voiced by Jason Deline I like Drago’s design in in the reboot especially small form but if only they would stop making him lose prematurely I’d like OG Drago he’s his details are has style lot of gold horn and golden horn eyebrows
Both Drago’s are both strong and wised they’re not afraid to talk back
OG Drago in first season: I shall not fight
New Drago in first season: FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
OG story is better being unafraid to dig deep to seek it’s potential but the Voice Acting and Animation of the Reboot is more confident, I remember finding Shun and Marucho’s voice very annoying or unfitting in the OG 🤘
I don't mind Shun's voice much but I do agree that Marucho's voice is pretty annoying at times
I miss OG Drago. Dude was awesome
Me, taking a glimpse at the reboot after watching the original:
“I… wha-…? What THE F-“
Original: fights to save his home
Reboot: just want to fight
It is a good think that spin master hired the same voice actor who did in the original.
The bakugan series without dragonoid is nothing. No epic battles, no enemies who try to take ravenge on dragonoid, etc.
The final Dan vs Masquerade battle and the ep where they join forces is something forever tattooed in my memory.
Damn, I didn't notice how I grew. Thanks for the nostalgia! And the new series, as for me, has a chance.
Even more evidence that the og is 100% better then the rebot at least the anime anyways the og card game was pay to win unfortunately 😕
yea the new game is pretty fun
Aren’t… all… card… games???
@@s.e.111films3 well maybe however the og bakugan was full of a lot of extra stuff that you needed otherwise you were not only missing out but at a significant disadvantage. (EX) you have only bakugan and maybe a trap bakugan or two however your opponent is super rich or at least a only child and thus has not only tons of trap bakugan but tons of battle gear, mechtagans and really op ability cards also a huge selection of bakugan with every type of atubute. You just can't keep up with them no matter what you do because there bakugan are all in the 900gs or even 1000gs and your best bakugan has only 700gs it was very bad
@@thelightcat777 I feel like some of that issue is simply people not applying house rules to make it more fun. Like ‘no Bakugan past a certain season of the show’ to prevent massive power creep unbalance from someone not having the newer toys
Or excluding certain trinkets or having more than 3 ability cards
Bakugan is so simple and flexible for kids, especially since some of the stuff- like battle gear cards and sky raider abilities were a bit complicated, so just do what you want with them and have fun like I did~
New Drago: *wants to fight everything.
Old Drago: *The Mighty Dragon fist.
0:38 I luv Helios laugh, he must be protected at all costs!
0:20-This is double stupid, because trees also exist in Vestroia.
The OG will always be the best.
Anyone else feel bad for Helios’ voice actor? Mans gotta have a bad case of throat hurt after all that rasping
Bro nothing will beat the OG but can we all agree how Helios is one of the best and coolest characters in the entire Saga?!?
yeah, still kinda disappointed they didn't bring him back like they did with Leonidas.
at first I hated reboot but after season 3 it's not bad tho, the think is we stuck in our nostalgia that's the problem...
we should rather be happy that bakugan is still alive and young generation are getting into this game..
all I can say today's bakugan gameplay format far balance and better than what we had..
Talk vs walk
Gen 1 Drago hits different (pun intended)
The other Dragos are fun too (its funny to see Gen 3 Dragi trying to be a drive thru seller only for him to take 1 hour to deliver something), but the old Drago will always have that "wise team dad" energy to him.
Reboot 'waving': *What's up G!*
OG 'facepalm': *Amateurs*
I miss the old drago
Drago really said: “You’re not that guy” elaborated, and molly whopped him all at once
You guys cannot believe just how many evolutions that drago has inside the original🤣
OG Drago is and will always be my favourite Drago
And for me too.
Drago: that metal monster is eating humans Dan.
I mean technically Drago ain't wrong he seems to know his scp lore
The fact that its the original VA for drago had me baffled like "why come back to this?"
The new one actually looks good especially in Maximus form. I like his battle cry.
Man original Drago is more chad
My bro drago from a wise fighter became a teenager that wants to proof himself
(OG) Dans mom really had a thing for drago looking back 😂
og drago's voice is more serious rather. than the reboot has a happy like voice
Who remembers when Drago beat Helios so hard that he couldn’t become a ball😂
Reboot: Cheerleader for Bakugan Battle!
OG: " maybe its because I've been in hundred of battles, and have face far more tougher opponents than you. Perhaps you forgot that I am...*PYRUS HELIX DRAGONOID!!* "
Old drago was a menace to helios
Og drago will always be the real drago he the king 👑 👑👑
The Reboot is a lot more kid friendly, but at least there's no mistakes on par with the second half of Mechtanium Surge. That and the misguided rotating cast bullocks.
Having half of the cast always replaced felt a bit off to me in the OG, not that I hated the new cast, just felt weird how next season we'd have a new person with the old being more of a cameo (maybe a fight at most, though I only remember it being in New Vestoria). Like it would be nice to see a season 1 bakugan scaled up in season 4 to show (probably would help with the power creep issue?).
Drago really had to tell helios that he isn’t him…
Man you really got a scene of reboot drago as a newbie, then got a scene of the old drago in his beefed up end of the season mode
Just like Ben 10 and Teen Titans, the reboot is not but an insult to the OG.
Awesome
With helios's abilities being so powerful, drago would never have defeated him with the power of the perfect core.
I feel like this comparison is unfair, since we are comparing a Drago that has never expererience earth, to a Drago that has experienced earth, and is fighting in that scene.
I do love Og Drago
Still even by season 1 episode 3, oh drago’s as a lot more mature than reboot. I mean they don’t have trrees in Vestroia?
@@AquosFrost I think, did they have it in the reboot? maybe they tried to make the Bakugan more alien?
@@AquosFrost but tbh the way reboot drago is acting I can say that he actually might be younger the OG one
this Drago has a more robotic and childlike shape, the only good thing I see for Drago is that it is a little bigger than the orihianl
god drago's voice in the og gives me chills every time.
Reboot: battle all the time
OG: just trying to protect his world
