Some dreams should not be followed. When the line between reality and dream blurs, sometimes it is better to walk away. After all, the proverbial cat would have been just fine except for its penchant for curiosity. Happening past a house she's seen in her dreams for months, Cynthia isn't sure why she feels so compelled to find out what it means. But as she enters the doorway, she has no choice but to search further. Will she finally find peace or a more menacing truth that casts aside the light to reveal only a more forbidding darkness?

People act like this is a Steven Speilberg film or something, These are up and coming film makers with a small budget alot of the time. God. give credit for putting in all the hours and money and doin it without a huge crew, They act, edit, shoot, direct, score,....I give them all major props. WELL DONE!!
Not to mention the actors, for the most part, do their acting voluntarily and without pay despite the time I imagine it takes to make these. Same with the others involved in the film-making. I love watching these short films because the people who write, produce, and act in them genuinely love what they're doing and it shows in their work. Props to you all and thanks for putting these up. Looking forward to more. :)
I agree. My theory is the woman had an evil doppelgänger. Pay close attention to the ending, and pause/play/pause/play. You'll see what I mean.
GOD?! What the
Thanks everyone for the support. This is one of our earlier films, so it's nice people are still watching and commenting.
Who mentioned Steven Spielberg? It is a psychological thriller not a supernatural story
I totally did not expect the ending!!! The ending was completely unexpected and it is unexpected endings that make good horror/thrillers like this one.
this is a whole lot better then the stuff thats on tv now! Awesome stories! keep them coming
"I dont want these people to think were crazy" all the while behind them a mans raking concrete with nothing on it
LOL I caught that too, you could hear the rake dragging against cement.
😆😃
Lol me too .nothing going on here ?????
Right!
It's important to rake the cement every day
Pretty creative. Hell of a twist to present in such a short time.
Thanks for the comment.
@@SeraphFilms this reminds me of the smurl haunting at 28 chase street in the mid 70's
I've had dreams like hers... when I come upon the things I dream about in real life its scary
The best parts of the film: Those jarring, shock-editing moments after your wife enters the house and is overwhelmed by her dream images. The girl cowering behind the table in her room. And John Epperson's easy yet wary delivery of lines as the film goes on.
1:28 I'm watching this movie in a dark room. It's midnight. My name is Cynthia. Imagine my surprise it said my name xD
+Seraph Films, L.L.C. Know what I like about this movie? It lets you think it's one thing then just throws you a really hard curveball and leaves you a mystery to ponder. Well made!
that's funny
I'll have what she having make it a double.
This was really a good story-line. She kept dreaming about it and the girl kept seeing here. Thank you for something that actually made sense. :)
Thanks for watching and for the feedback. We very much appreciate it. Please check out some of our other films and series and consider subscribing.
You are so talented! I know it's a short film, but it left me wanting More! I cannot believe this was made on such a small budget. You really made that $300 go a long way. Love your work. Kudos to all involved. :)
This is totally adapted from the same source as a Beyond Belief: Factor or Fiction story.
the movie was excellent. good directing and editing by gene blalock. nice cinematography by andria chamberlin. i particularly liked that reflective shot at 2 minutes. and I liked Justin's reaction after the girl screamed the first time. "what the hell was that?" a funny and genuine response. (thanks for not using the f-word.) the entire cast and crew did a wonderful job bringing an urban legend to the screen. thanks for the video.
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words. Please check out some of our other films and series and consider subscribing.
Very well done. The soundtrack scared my kitty and he now wont come out from under bed. Very haunting and realistic shots. A great film from the people at Seraph Films.
And what is the purpose of the random guy across the road raking a CLEAN sidewalk, licking his lips, wiping his nose and spitting, wearing a winter hat when it's obviously warm outside?!?
Eccentric neighbor? Devil in disguise? He's seen her before? Like, in the HOUSE?!
Might be dope sick waiting for his guy.......
I also appreciated the raking of the concrete. 😆
Seemed pretty obvious that his clear eccentricity was the setup for the ironic line, "...we don't want these people to think we're crazy."
Unless I was personally overreaching.
His purpose is to show that the husband is crazy for talking to himself cause his wife isn't really there. Thats probably why he's raking the sidewalk cause he's dazed at the homebuyer talking to himself.
This was seriously well done! I rate "creepy" by the goosebumps on my arms and hairs standing on end. On my goosebump scale this film rated pretty damn high. To ALL involved in the making, keep up the FANTASTIC work.
This is a tight, reasonably well-made shock short. The story is so old that its calcified skin has trilobite imprints on it -- but that doesn't matter. Heck, the most derivative film plot I can think of earned $2 billion under the title "Avatar." For Gene Blalock, this is an etude -- a study, to show he's absorbed the lessons of masters. He gets one really terrific performance out of his good cast: that little girl, who manages to be hair-raising and touching in about 40 seconds of screen time!
These short horror films are so darn good! although it's based on an urban legend, seraph films made it more horrifying and realistic. They always wins the freshest tea cup from me. You're always welcomed seraph!
That intro, alone, had me hooked. Everything about this was perfect. If you can give me chills just watching a 10 min video...at a Starbucks lol...y'all are doing something right. Excellent camera work. Hope to pull quality work like this off one day.
I'd love to see this concept in a full film! Seems like an intense astral projection concept!
We would love to do it! Funding is always the toughest part.
This is a splendid quick exercise for all involved ... and that little girl's scream may haunt my own dreams!
Now that was a well done plot twist An the little girl did very well at the end when it really counted.
I think the first husbands acting was a lil' dry, but not enough to take away from anything.
Very well done overall; I'd give it a 8.5/10 Thank you for your hard work, and the upload. Great work in my opinion! 😎👍#1450
Thank you for watching and for the feedback. Check out some other other films and series and consider subscribing. Thanks again.
That was excellent. The bit with the girl creeping around the corner and screaming was great. Looking forward to the next one.
One other note, One or two of these films have made ME jump! That's what you call horror films ,( and I've been watching horror since I was about 15 . I'm 66 now so it take some doing .keep em coming thanks.
"I'm not crazy. " She couldn't look any crazier.
Right?!? Thanks for watching in for the comment.
Great job Seraph Films! I am so proud to have been a part of this!
WHOA! The House is deserving of a painting in the "Night Gallery" I love stories like this. Well done! :)
Haha the velvet paining of the bull fighter is the same exact one my father has...
😉 plusi like how hubby says people will think we’re crazy meanwhile there a man in a flannel shirt and winter hat raking a clean sidewalk in the middle of spring/summer.....
Thanks so much for watching and for the comment. Very happy you like the film. Please consider subscribing and check out some of our other films and series.
Oh God! The twist is unbelievable. Bravo. Keep it up.
it was good. the dad's behavior confused the shit out of me though 😂😂😂
This is a rather unusual story, but great idea. There appear to be quite a few people who believe that we leave our bodies when we sleep - hence the occasional deja vu experience. Beautifully shot film!
Pretty good film but Amanda's beef with Cynthia is pretty strange but all n all a very great film job well done would like to see a follow up maybe a part 2 to see what the connection is BTW the house Amanda and Cynthia it would be good to have the mystery be solved .
I don't get it. So.. was she sleepwalking into the girls room? Is she dead? This doesn't make any sense to me.
+Agghh She dreams about entering the home, especially upstairs. The girl sees this woman every night. Astral projection gone wrong?
Evil Doppelgänger. Pause at 3:23-3:24, when she looks into the upper window. And pay close attention to the ending. Pause/play/pause/play. You'll see what I mean. 😈
The woman is probably abusing the child in some way or stalking her
Woooow! I haven't noticed that. When she looks up, there is a woman who looks like her, or is her. Ok, but what does that mean?
@@catherineg9943 ok but the ending looks looks more like she was astral projecting
I used to astral project all the time. my family, who's super religious, all came together and made me swear never to do it again. they said it was demonic and demons could get into my body when i left it alone and i'd be in limbo or whatever and no way to return to my body.
yes, this is entirely true.
I made the mistake of telling my aunt I saw her when i was astrally projecting. I told her everything she was doing, down to how many steps she took to get to the kitchen, put her keys on the counter, made a glass of juice, put the bags away, checked her messages.... the more I went on, she just got up from talking to me and called the entire family right then and there, and they all came over and came against me. That was the only time i've seen them do that. like 20 people, in the middle of the day, to talk to me. I lost all my powers and never did anything else from that day on.
Really? more detail please
I like this twist at the end, no more words to say i enjoy it
This is my favorite film so far and you have a lot of them that I like. I love the music....very creepy and disturbing. :) The acting was awesome and such a good script. I really loved the suspense and wanted more!!! I would definitely see this as a full length movie. Great job, can't wait for more!!!!
Wow this is very good! Nice job! This almost scared me! I subscribed just because of this!
This is really good! Totally unexpected conclusion. And an aftertaste of "Twilight Zone"

You're welcome !!!
Excellent! I love a good horror short!
I was at the edge of my seat. This is excellent.
Oh snap!!! I love this!!!
great twist !!! this short gave me the creeps... i loved it
that is creeeeeeepy. subscribed!
Great work
That was really good!! Loved the story! This is not a subject you see in horror films, but now I think it should be! Awesome, and I will be looking for your movies in theaters near me!
I'm impressed. Loved it. Thanks.
CONGRATULATIONS!! Good acting..interesting story!!!
really great job! the story line was amazing! i didn't expect that!
I want more!!! So awesome Gene!! Would love to see a full length movie of The House. One of my favorites so far! !!!!
They setup a lot of random plot points, like the random dude outside raking and how the father said they "spend a lot of time in this room", but still did good focusing on the dream-like aspects. (I feel like the raking man was a spirit, almost). Also odd how the little girl is dressed like its 1920 and the mother is dressed for a funeral.
I liked it, tho
SPOILER: So, my guess is that the main character astral projects every night to the little girl's room and that the girl is sensitive so she sees or dreams of the projection. May also be possible the family is into the occult which A) makes the little girls sensitive to spirits/projections and B) is why the Dad acts so suspicious about everything, even not finding it weird that there's a woman wandering around his house away from his tour. Very deep. If it were full length there would be much plot to unravel. Way to unravel most of it in 10 minutes.
SUBSCRIBED
Robert Harper thanks for the great insight. We appreciate the sub. We have a new series coming out on May 1st, so stay tuned. Thanks again.
Great job, I just wish it was longer. Would love to see what happens next.
Oh it WAS a compliment.'The Burbs' is one of my all-time favourite films,& whilst 'The House' may not be intentionally in the same vein as 'The Burbs' it does seem to have similar elements.Yeah, happy to subscribe.
It takes true artistic talent to be able to put your heart and soul out for everyone to criticize. And then do it again regardless.
The ending gave me the creeps! Great film!!
+Seraph Films, L.L.C. You guys/gals make great films! Out of all of them, The House will remain my favorite. It's one of the best short horror films out there. The ending was just ....on point and unexpected. I write horror, and this movie just hits home with me. I have many short horror stories like The House, so if you guys need a writer who will work for writing credit only, I'm your scary gal.
Most of these shortz not all but many are reworked old comic book horror stories .And this is one I remember it well! Spielberg
i doubt it,But many of
the comics were
exceptional and some
Of the writers were/are welli
Very interesting, and disturbing short film. Great work!
Tanya...you rocked this film! Can't wait to see more of you...
Oh my gosh now that's scary!! Great work!
Nicely done. I never expected that ending.

Rock City Marco, it’s much appreciated. See you back here May 1st! Thanks again.
@@SeraphFilms any time... any time see you May 1st
Really great work, well done!!
Nice little film. That poor woman & frightened little girl!
K, but seriously, I hate when people bash actors in a low budget film. It was good enough to keep my curiosity for "what happens next." Plus, as I've seen in a few comments - these actors are probably volunteers. They're not professional. I think it was an interesting short and people need to learn to enjoy the small things in life rather than nitpicking at every tiny thing about it.
Also, just push the back button. This channel has a large following, which eludes to the fact they're pretty damn well liked. Go watch a Hollywood horror if you want pristine/perfect acting.
I say good job! I've seen a few other shorts of yours and I like them!
This was very good! Great twist.
Yeah..... That was an astounding WOW! Awsome job guys/gals! The ending had me yell WTF/WOW!! Great job!
This was done before in one step beyond in the 50’s
Thanks for watching and for the comment. The story is based off an old urban legend, so it’s certainly been done before. Thanks again.
Its really amazing good job!
Amazing! Im a horror films fan and I've to say this was incredible
Nice job on the twist at the end, that was awsome.
What can I say? I always love a twist ^_^
Oh I most certainly will! (and if ya ever need a base-template of a monster for a vid, you lemme know, it's on-the-HOUSE. get it? XD)
Geat suspense all through the film.
I write novels and am very used to the usual clichets. Usually i can see a twist come from a mile away. But this story get me hanging until the end.
Congrats!
Loved it!
omg! I loved it! it was brilliant. please keep up the good work.
+Seraph Films, L.L.C. ....loved it but the ending totally confused me... explain? Also I have an idea I'd like to discuss with you. If you want to let me know & I can give you my email.
This is impressive for a short film. Great job.
That's incredible, very well made!
Shut UP!!!! Great job!! My heart was racing as the little girl said that she was coming in to her room every night !!!
Well done! Better then most.
LOVED IT!!!!!!
Menacing indeed. I have to say, I really enjoyed Tanya Gorlow in this. She completely drew me into the story. I wish I had an astral projection story to share with you... or after seeing this short film, maybe I should be glad I don't!
Thank you so much, Annie Marie Peters!
Wow, nice ending. What a twist. 👍
Glad you liked it!
Cool concept. So this woman's dreams are haunting this house and that little girl? Or a doppelganger? Well done film!
Astral projection. Thanks for watching. We appreciate the kind words.
@@SeraphFilms Oh, forgot about that! Thank you for answering.
Very cool, great job!
Great job! Very impressive. Reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock. Really remarkable.

Extremely creepy! Great job - acting is really top notch!
Whoa. Freaky.
Nice job.
Very nice ! But how did you handle the sound? I'm planning to buy a 7D but the sound is crap. I want to buy a Rode Videomic Pro but I don't know about the AGC
Very good film and concept.
Great work!
Well Done! Bravo.
excellent film! very well done!!
Excellent stuff. Loved it.
Hey, AWESOME job on the film, really gave me the chills.
Out of curiosity, what kind of gear were you using for sound, and which lenses/bodies were you using for the filming?
Very cool concept!
6:33 The Chicken XD I can't stop laughing!!!
That was creepy and the lil girls screams got me to jump LOL GREAT! short and the sound is awesome you're definitely got an eye ;-) and talent
was not expecting tat! nice twist!!
Awesome acting by all
The husband said, " this is a little bit crazy," but he's more crazy for driving around his dead wife and that's why the raking the sidewalk was staring at him, watching him talk to himself. And the reason the couple was acting strange is because the husband was alone when he knock on the door.
Thanks for watching. Interesting take on it. Thanks for sharing.
