I’m sorry you lost your boy it’s so heartbreaking to lose them, I’m on my 5th rescue dog and I only waited 2 months this last time before I adopted again, because I believe it’s my previous dog sending me the dog I need and that the dog needs me, it definitely helps with the grief, this one I’ve had for 16 months and he was between 6-9yrs old when I got him, covered in scars physical and emotional, he shook in fear most of the 2.5hr drive home, but the treats in the car helped and the jumper I brought him 10 minutes after leaving his foster home because I got him in winter and he came from the desert, he also has been my only dog to sleep through the first night because he had never had a dog bed before or lived inside and he sleeps on my bed, I had to lift him up onto my bed he was very stiff, but he soon realised that a human bed feels very nice and a blanket on top of him and he snored the night away. I still miss my other dog’s but I still talk to them and thank them for my beautiful boy, he required such slow gentle training and confidence building that it helped me too, because I had to provide a lot of love and care that it was self care for me too. I think it honours my previous dog’s by saving another one.

Rescue dogs are wonderful! My wife and I have, over the years adopted four rescues, each of whom have been wonderful members of our family. We have tended toward herding breeds/mixes. They tend to be so smart and intuitive, and are wonderful and loving parts of our lives.
I love the pits. I rescued my first one in July. He is also a Velcro dog and lovable. He does have some issues toward other dogs but he is learning. Your pup is so beautiful. My Freeman is white with brown spots on his head.
