  • Ok I bought the stuff to do this on the 4 door dually because I just did this on my '03 Ranger extended cab and it went pretty good for being the first time doing this. On this one it did not go so well but at the end of part 2 you can see it installed and is a lot better than it was before. The plastic interior panels were very fragile and brittle from age and several pieces broke and I will have to repair them and reinstall at a later time. I'll try to get that on video.

Impact drivers are one of the best inventions ever!

I agree. I had to use a hand held impact that you hit with a hammer to break loose the #3 Phillips screws on the grab handles.

    Good video as always Gordon
Thanks for letting me know to never do that job because I'd never do as good of job as you have.

I tried doing that quite some time ago, and it was just a door panel. The ribbed pieces on the inside of the panel that go into and hold in a hole in the door had the heads pulled through. The inside of the panel was mostly some kind of cardboard and when it ripped open the 'fasteners' wouldn't hold anymore. Gluing wasn't any good, and after I put it back together the panel was loose. Had to take a lot of things off before even getting to the panel. A royal pain. Never did it again.
