  • We are looking at a small amount of the History of LS Mtron tractor company and what I found as I researched the company. This is just one more thing that helped me to make up my mind. With out this research I may have never had any intrest in the LS brand, but after doing a lot of research I bought the LS MT 573. This is only SOME of what I found.

    I spent over 6 months back and forth. Green, Orange, a couple of Reds, incentives here and there. What it boiled down to was this: parts availability, quality of the machine, and what was the BEST VALUE for what I needed. I eventually settled on an LS MT235E, the dealer closest to me is terrible and they only want to sell what's on their lot. I drove to the next closest dealer and they were GREAT even though it's an hour away vs. 15 minutes. I love my LS!

    Very helpful details, I have also gone through their history and starting to like LS. I check the BBB for additional information about LS dealers rejecting warrantee clams; I believe this is where LS corporate needs to be very flexible and be open on giving than rejecting.

      Any company including LS needs to take care of their Dealers and the customers. If the Dealer is not taking care of
      LS customer then LS needs to drop the dealer and find someone else to promote and sell their product.

    I have a LS MT3 40hp with front grapple and backhoe. Im a plumber in northern WI. Have 1500 hours on. Use it for small trenching to making firewood. Its most reliable equipment i have. Starts in cold, digs well, just reliable. Only gripe id have in high range it doesnt have a ton of speed compared to some other brand's, but price makes up for that and more. Plus, spend money on a cab with heat and ac, its soo nice.

    Its crazy to think that an electronics company, or cosmetics company would be in the tractor space... until you realize that Ford made tractors, Lamborghini still does, Samsung makes construction equipment, Yamaha makes dirt bikes and pianos, Nokia was known for making paper long before cell phones, Volkswagen makes some of the best sausage, Toyota owns Toyota Housing Corp that builds houses, just to name a few. When I first heard of LS Tractors, I didn't know the company existed. That was several years after they came to the US. But after doing my own research, learning all I could, I was sold. Awesome video! Keep up the great work!

    When looking at New Holland and LS, there is basically no difference other than the front end loader. My local New Holland dealer says the tractor parts basically have the same part numbers. When sitting on them there is almost no difference, again other than the front end loader. You’re correct, it’s all about the dealership.

    Videos like this help inform folks that other brands have a history that is quite lengthy. LS has 3 assembly facilities in the US, a parts distribution center, and a growing dealer network. I was told by the local dealer that LA was looking to build another parts distribution center somewhere in the Midwest. Not sure if they ever did but I could see that as positive for dealers.
    If you only buy ag equipment because of color you only cheat yourself. Good equipment comes in many colors.

      Yes this is true thanks for your comment.
      LS. is /or has now opened another assembly plant (from my understanding) in Palestine Texas so now they have 4 assembly plants, one in California, North Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas. There’s not much information on the Texas plant yet but I have found where they are hiring.
      One very good point that often gets left out is they have helped bring JOBS to the US. Not take jobs.

    Very informative. Just purchased 2023 MT225s with loader and backhoe. Couple little things like jam nuts coming loose on backhoe controls. I do not have the starting issue in cold weather that seems to be a complaint with some owners on the FB forums. Some complain you have to turn the key a few times because the glow plugs aren't hot enough. Compared to Green and Orange it was at least $8K cheaper apples to apples. IMO for my region, Iowa.

    Have an LS 4046H 2015 vintage with a little over 1000 hours. Very few problems and good reliability so far. Like the tractor and don't really want to trade in. Parts availability has been good ( not needed many parts, filters, wheel studs, loader frame) Dealers have been ok with turn over of owners, some not as good and changed dealer with better results. Find some dealers do not have good equipment service skills, LS needs to work on this, dealers only as good as people own and run the dealership.

    They may not be a well-known name, but gotta respect any company that makes their bones in Asia and South America. Toughest agricultural conditions on the planet. Not places one could get very far by throwing money at the problem, so they beat the hell out of their equipment as well.

    • @3DFarmingLife
      @3DFarmingLife  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I have seen videos ( not personal experience) of how many pieces of equipment are used in some of these countries. You wonder how it serves.
      In this day of competition these companies do not grow and thrive selling junk. In there beginnings they may not have had the best R and D or Quality. It looks like they have worked hard to create and establish a strong company producing and selling better and better equipment.
      Thanks for sharing and for watching

    • @MFKR696
      @MFKR696 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@3DFarmingLife Agreed. In some of these places, the people just can't afford fancy equipment, so they have to make-do with what little they have.
      Goes to show that pieces some of us consider to be "junky", aren't nearly as pitiful as we First-Worlders have been led to believe. Their equipment may be small, and far from fancy, or even safe lol, but I'd hesitate to call it junk.
      Some of it really fits under that description, don't get me wrong, but there are some core companies that really seem to have found a good balance in cost/performance.
      Besides... Even if they've got the money, nobody really wants to be running a $100 000+ tractor through rice paddies or red clay. The bearings are going to eat themselves alive before long, regardless of what tier of machines they're using.

I did find that both the Louisiana and California are “Contract Facilities “ not exactly sure what that means but it could be that the assembly plant do not have the LS logo on the sign. I am sure there are issue with some of the dealers not having shops in some of the areas of the US. The dealer I have been working with has been around for probably more than 30-40 or so years. I really cannot tell you how long he has been selling and servicing LS tractors for several years now more than 10. He has a full service and repair shop and has had that the whole time.
      My understanding is that LS is now focused on dealers what that means in the end I cannot say. I am not to concerned about resale I paid less I don’t expect to get more. We appreciate your comment and thanks for watching.
