  • Installing new Maxpow rear door support struts on a 2001 Chevy Tahoe. Very easy install. This should be the same for 99-07 Chevy and GMC Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon.

    Good job brother! Nice straightforward explanation....
    You remind me of our family...
    I get the parts,
    My son does the install,
    Mom does the cooking,
    and we all enjoy each other as we have a great meal!

      If more families were like that the world would be a better place.

    I changed these in less than 15 minutes. The hardest thing was to find something tall, and strong enough to hold up the door. Thanks for the confidence to do it

    I just put these on my '04 Suburban. Suckers are strong enough. :) I also took the time to go ahead and rub some silicone lube on the weatherstripping back there.

      Yeah, mom went from not being able to open up the door to barely being able to close it. It's a better problem to have :) They are still super strong. I though they would soften up a bit but they haven't.

    Thanks for this vid! ‘06 Suburban door kept crashing down on me. Followed this & installed them myself in 5 minutes.

    Thanks for the video. Had the new struts. They came with directions in 4 different languages, none of them were
    ENGLISH!

    Thank you for showing up close how you remove the clip. There are some videos out there that show you from like a mile away how to remove these things and they don't show you that part.

    my 03 yukon had the aluminium gate. My replacement yukon, '06 has the steel gate. I thought they were all aluminium. I can tell it is much heavier. I need to replace my struts, but they need to be for the steel application.

    Your mom is going to make your favorite meal for fixing her truck. Nice!

    Good video. Simple maintenance items are often overlooked on CZcams. That would be one reason I started making videos. I couldn't find simple stuff that I needed to fix on my truck, so I started filming them.

    My 2001 Ford F-150 has struts for the hood. They don't really lift it but they hold the hood real good

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  Před 7 lety

      They might be getting weak if they don't help lift the hood some.

      mossman381 yeah maybe. I'll look into some new ones. It's almost time for my truck to registered. Need tires.

    May I ask what the yellow grease is that you used on the ball mount on that strut? Thanks!

    i have a bedcover for my silverado and the struts for the hatch have gone bad. will these help?

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  Před 7 lety

      You need to know the length and the ball size to get replacements for something like a bed cover. My advise would be to look at your old struts. There should be a number on them. Go to Ebay or Amazon and type that number in and you should find some replacement struts.

    Good job for mom.I do the same from mowing grass to cuffing oil.
    unrelated question
    2005 Chevy Silverado. LED replacement front running lamp/turn signal....Just plugs in, no resistor. Do you think it'll hyperflash? the plug n play reverse LED with no resistor is fine.
    THANK you for your time and consideration.
    didn't see any other way to contact you.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  Před 7 lety +1

      On a 05 I am not sure. If it does hyperflash I would try a new LED flasher instead of a resistor. You won't have to cut into your wiring. On my about page you can contact me privately.
