    Just fixed this by blowing a compressor down both ends of the hose, the one up to the filler neck and down from the sensor, this actually worked. I feel as though I owe you a beer. I have spent the past 2 winters getting frost bite on my damn fingers because it takes me 40 minutes to fill my tank. Thanks for posting this. it saved me a fortune.

      That's great! You saved yourself couple hundred bucks! Try to avoid prolonged "cap off " time.

      Looks like i spoke too soon. Went to fill up today and it happened again. Not sure what i should do now. I definitely can't afford to keep taking it to the dealership to have them replace parts that "might" fix the issue according to them. Already had the filler neck and hoses, and evap sensor replaced. Figures.

      Tim Davis I’m sorry to hear that, If you have no restrictions in the lines or charcoal canister and the neck has been replaced, then I’d drop the gas tank down or first check the 1way valve. Star had a bulletin that basically starts with neck replacement and then new gas tank.

    PRO TIP: I have a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude with the same issues while pumping gas. This is what worked for me... turn the nozzle sideways when filling. Normally you put the nozzle in at say 6 o’clock... try 3 o’clock or 9 o’clock. Not a fix but it helps when pumping in the 🥶. Stay warm #Billsmafia

      @@theredderbaron you got it buddy hope it helped. I sat at the gas station for like 30min trying to fill my tank one day. It depends on the gas station you go to, I think some pumps are different

    I have this problem after trying to siphon old gas out of my tank. Do you think the trap door could be the problem? What could I have damaged trying to siphon out gas? I had to use a rod to prop the door open so the siphon tube could be pulled out.. Could that have caused this problem? Thank you 🙏

      Gonzalo Perla Most of these fill problems gets fixed by replacing the filler neck.

    You didn't show anything about how to actually repair this?!?

    • @TDRAuto
      @TDRAuto  Před 3 lety +1

      From my experience 90% cars were fixed by replacing the filler neck assembly.

    So do you blow out the debris or do you replace the neck?

      I replace the neck. I don’t want to risk the customer coming back.

    What will this cost to fix at the dealer?

    • @TDRAuto
      @TDRAuto  Před 3 lety

      That depends on the labor rate at that dealer (could be anywhere from $120 to $170 per hour). The diagnosis usually takes 1 hr and to swap the filler neck another hour. Part alone from $150 to $250,
