    Looks great and less daunting than the V2 kit!

    Can you see through the board at all if you actually use this in a helmet? 😄

    Where is the troubleshooting video? My setup is lighting up as expected but the mode button is not cycling modes.

    Wow, could this be used in the led goggles kit?

    18:57 I checked the data sheet for the voltage regulator in the kit and saw that it regulates the voltage down to 5v. Would it be possible to remove it and use a USB battery pack, similar to the method for the Guy Manuel light fan tutorial?

    • @AlexPlusLEDS
      @AlexPlusLEDS  Před 4 lety

      Yep. Totally possible. Just pull it off and jumper across the input and output pins of the voltage reg.

    Do you recommend any soldering kits for absolute dummies like myself?

    • @AlexPlusLEDS
      @AlexPlusLEDS  Před 4 lety +1

      I do offer some basic soldering kits: www.alexplusleds.com/product/learn-to-solder-kit
      Or you can dig around on Amazon/Ebay to find something else.

      Not really, it's designed to be used as a single unit.

    Sorry I just have a small questions, I'm going to be purchasing one of these kits (eventually) but does it just run through all of the different settings or can you choose one and just have that repeat

    • @AlexPlusLEDS
      @AlexPlusLEDS  Před 3 lety +1

      You can either have all the animations run, or you can choose one animation at a time.

    I finished the kit, but I have two LEDs that are staying lit. They are the first two to light up. Any advice before I dive in?

    • @AlexPlusLEDS
      @AlexPlusLEDS  Před 3 lety +1

      Pull them out, stick new ones in. If they are lit up they are installed backwards.

    Looks interesting! I’m still having trouble with my v1. I wonder is this v3 board flexible to fit inside the helmet?

    • @AlexPlusLEDS
      @AlexPlusLEDS  Před 4 lety

      Yep, it's super flexible. I can wrap it into a circle with no problem.

  • @behrecat9653
    @behrecat9653 Před 3 lety

    When stripping the cables, do we need all of the strands inside, or is it okay if we trim some off while stripping? (By accident of course, it's very difficult to get an perfect strip)

    • @AlexPlusLEDS
      @AlexPlusLEDS  Před 3 lety +1

      If you lose a couple of strands of the inside wire, it is okay. As long as you have at least 70% of them intact.

      @@AlexPlusLEDS Sweet, thank you so much

    • @behrecat9653
      @behrecat9653 Před 3 lety

      I got a neat tip. If you don't have wires cutters for strippers, you can use toenail clippers to trim the leads and strip the wire!!! Do not forgot to wear eye protection and bring a strong magnet to help find those lost leads.
