- Paul "Willie Green" Womack is a producer who has worked with the The Roots, Wiz Kalifa and more. In this hip hop production workshop, he walks us through beatmaking step by step, starting with nothing but a found loop and stock sounds in his favorite DAW.

Coming from an Ole skool RnB dude adding some new flava to my writing, this was creatively inspiring and just plain Dope! From the loop capture, the layer cleaning, the mindset for the chop...I could go on n on. Much appreciated! It's said, when the student is ready the teacher will appear! Consider me your student, never to old to learn!
How amazing is it to have the opportunity to learn from this guy?! So cool how he cut up that instagram clip and was able to lower those other sounds he didn't need and then made an awesome beat with it! Great masterclass!
Man im not alone produce hiphop on cubase 😊🙏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account?
I stupidly forgot the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Hunter Kaden Instablaster ;)
im with u bro
@@hunterkaden2701 Bro thats the most random place to ask tha fuck
Man, that 8th note delay on strum 2 - when it joins the final chord in the loop - is hitting the sweet spot!
You are a Great master. Thank You a lot
I learned so much from this. Big thank you!
Awesome!
I love your creativity!, It's awesome work brother!
And that's how magic is done.
Thanks a lot, 4 very informative lesson. As always
Great video. In the market for a new DAW, I'll be demoing Cubase on the strength of this. Great to see the DAW's abilities and strengths used proficiently without a bunch of plug-ins. I know it does what I need.
Muchas Gracias , por tremendo aporte!! Bendiciones!!
I’m a Reason user, but I was still able to benefit from this masterclass on how to produce a hip hop beat!! The “look over your shoulder” is priceless!! Thank you so much for your willingness to teach your craft! I see there is a part 2 to this masterclass. I’m on my way over there now to watch it!
So am I. Just a hobby, so I'm still on 10 since they keep bluffing on updating the engine and sequencer. After seeing this, I might just take the upgrade money and get Cubase.
Reason 12 is worth it if you’re already used to the workflow. I can make beats in others but I’ve been on reason since 4 and it’s just wayyyyy faster.
Cool!
Loved the insight on cubase 11 🎯 and enjoyed the lesson .... many thanks 🙏 ✌️💚☯️🔱🐺
Glad to hear that! Thanks for joining us.
the whole time I thought he was saying "you could be a failure" lmao
this is awesome! only 20 minutes in... mind blown!
For real, that spectral layers part had my jaw drop
“Some kinda hawk or falcon” - man got good ears 😹
ThAnK YoU! Great material! Hope to see more vids from Willie. For some reasons, there isn't too many good tutorials on hip hop production in Cubase, so it's a nice surprise :] When can we expect vocal tracking and mixing videos to appear? Is there a chance to include gain staging in the mixing part?
We’ve got more coming from him this week and next! Stay tuned!! We’ll pass along the request but I think the mixing one has already just been filmed.

Is there a track already made out of this? Would love to hear the final result.
A great tutorial, thanks for uploading it! But I can't be the only one who doesn't hear "come to my place" lol... umm....
technology is crazy bro that first frequency thing & the warp thing he did, I'm just here like what? lol
O..M…Geeee how did you erase that bird sound Sir!!???? I gotta know please share this!!! I’m not a new-b Nor a Pro sooo I’m still learning but you just snowed me on how you erased the bird! I’m using Studio One/ Versn. 6.5 sooo can I do that w my basic stock tools and what would that tool be Sir???
Is there a quick way to find the other parts? I couldn’t find a playlist

Thank you so much Justin.
Love the content
nice
Does sampling count as making from scratch?🤔
38min in and I realized oh! this is a full tutorial and not a skit. THAT'S KUDOS to you my boyeee. That means i was vibing out without knowing how much time passed. I was suppose to only listen to 10min videos but your video is the only video I let play entirely! def sub'd
this is like learning a new instrument but worlds harder.
Can someone please explain what "beat/making beats" means? Is it 'song' in hip hop lingo? Sorry I am a meatal/blues/world music/classical music type of guy. I'd really like to know :D
The best is the music behind the main vocals
Yeah, the “beat” is the song that a rapper performs over. Everything that isn’t the rappers voice or ad libs is a part of the beats composition.
I never want to make beats like this. Still would be interesting to watch in it's entirety. But I am falling asleep, I can barely watch, skimming thru. maybe I'll' watch when I have more energy. I struggled to type this OMG
What is that opening track, that is hot.
“Family” by Likwuid. It’s the track Willie builds up from scratch in this series.
how insane is that spectral plugin? wtf man is that for sale as a vst?`
If I'm thinking of the right thing, I believe that is built into Cubase Pro. Check it out here: bhpho.to/3Jdpw1X
Hope that helps,
-Justin
TIL how little I know.
This is where im lost- the sampling! I was trying to make a beat from scratch, played chords used rhodes then laid a beat. I am new to this side of it. Im used to playing 3 hour gigs just my voice and guitar.
how the fuck, did i not learned this spectrallayers shit like wtf shit's insane how you can manipulate samples
Go to 12:17 to skip noise cleaning
should have been a 15 min video
amazing.. would love to see one not using a sample
