Those last lines “how do you know when its done” “i get emotional” and the way Al explains it might just be the realest shit I’ve ever heard… literal goosebumps..
Lowkey got teary eyed when he said that
That was it. 100%. If the art doesn’t take you on an emotional journey, what’s the point at all?
Can see in his face dude found it challenging to reveal his process like this. Thank you for sharing Al, mans leaving a legacy behind for sure.
he revealed a shit load of gems on that aulart series
@@SergioMartinez-el8kg is it still available
Covid helped too. During the pandemic was the only time I see Alc semi regularly on IG live in the studio.
@@ChaosBeforeOrder they asking for 80$ but aulart is a scam
He revealed mad shit on his ig live
"baby $hit" beat!
you know!
my favorite
Yo that Alfredo album has to go down as some of the best production I’ve ever heard from Uncle AL 💯
Anyone else feel like Baby Shit and Space Rabbit are their Christmas songs?
That song is one of those beats that are just so cerebral and zoning/focusing. I had it on repeat for like a few hours the other day just cleaning the crib / planning next few weeks out. Relaxing. Incredible vibe.
Al a genius. Love hearing him explain his thought process, he makes it so visual
I definitely feel the same way about the way he shares the information. The guy lives his music.
The soup analogy was clever.
I bet could describ colors to a blind man.
Everytime people type "AI" I interpret it as artificial intelligence...
That soup stuff
what he said at the end is real. the emotion being like the end of a relationship. he captured the feeling.
Facts!
Finishing lyrics to a beat always feels like a mix of glee and emptiness to me.
One of my favorite producers of all time. Please keep this series going!
more on the way!
Man I heard Madlib once say you don’t need all this fancy hardware
Then I hear Al say well when you use a DAW you can line everything up perfectly(Quantize)
I love the part when he said you know when you get emotional. I’ve heard him say you can’t overcook a meal. So once I laid down what I laid down and it made me feel happy and I’ve learned from the experience. I walk away. The beat is done.
I constant play this is my head to make sure I try to keep it raw, simple and as human as possible. That is my mission statement.
💯
Baby $hit...so tight how he puts it altogether 🤘🏻
“Dear Adonis”
😭😭😭
oh damn we both got the same pfp and I was boutta type the same thing
Dude truly is an Alchemist of sound. So awesome to see this cat grow over the years. By far one of my top 3 producers.
Dj premier and the Alchemist are the greatest. He took a Samuel Jonathan Johnson track and turned it into "we gonna make it" with Jadakiss and Styles P. Win or lose is another sick track with mobb deep.
Word up! czcams.com/play/UULFmaglqNF3nMOQu8Uz4XIWwQ.html
Getting the snares immediately after picking out the sample to get a feel for the tempo, a structure, sounds like a good idea I should use when sampling for my beats.
Wish this was longer. Al is a GOAT. I could listen to him go through his process all day
🐐🐐🐐
He has a masterclass available through Aulart where he covers his entire process. Just came out recently. 💎
This is just eye candy, producers aren't spoken to enough !!
Ear candy

Al look like the coolest dude ever. Him and Madlib are my favorites. Legends at what they do and we should showcase them to the world for being prodigies, pioneers, and pushers of this amazing love affair with music and hip hop. Love it.
Please, more videos like this. And more videos with Al!
He is a living legend!

Dont call me a legend
Could listen to Alchemist explain his processes all day, inspired by this genius and his sonics.
I never knew Alchemist did that Gibbs joint…. One of my fav’s lately … Super Hard!!!!! And Freddie laced that joint.
He did the whole album. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Dude must be handicapped or sleeping under a rock
The Alfredo album is amazing. Thank for reminding me where I heard it from!
What is the name of the track?
Baby shit
That last line about how to know when it's done is one of the greatest life changing things I've ever heard in my life
The “limitations” just make me appreciate the art that’s given to us from guys like Al. Tribe, Dilla, Madlib, DOOM, etc. All of these artists had to create what they heard in their innermost minds with what they had access to. Don’t get me wrong, the modern technology is good with giving us what they had earlier and faster, but the want and desire to give the world what we think is deserving of hearing doesn’t feel like it’s there AS much as just the need for being noticed for it is.
This Beat too Good ⛪️ Everything on Alfredo a Masterpiece Al Is really the BEST at this shit 🤲🏾
Do you know the beat name?
baby $hit
I've never seen anyone simplify beat making so well. Top 5 hip hop producers of all time
No Producer in HIPHOP has ever been GREATER longer than this man...salute.
Honestly he has had a 20 year run or more. And never fell off.

Alchemist better tbh @@TLOKO
This man is a legend. The way he sees his beats. At one point of my life he was my favorite producer.. So inspirational. I learned a trick or two from him back then. The way he used to listen to his beats through a boombox as a reference. On point man for real!!
“At one point..”????
@@THEINFAMOUS1011 yes. Then I had a different favorite producer at another point. There was a favorite producer before him.
@@CarlitoBTS who?🤔🤔🤔

I m at that point where I listen random songs from westside gunn, freddie, benny the butcher etc and I instantly recognize a alchemist beat
so cool to hear exile shouted out
Exile is so underrated and overlooked
Super dope producer, super underrated. Made some of the dopest beats in HIP-HOP. I still listen to Return of the Mac. R.I.P to Prodigy. Nobody sounds better on a ALC beat then P DOUBLE.
Alchemist has been my favorite producer since Covert Coup wit Spitta in 2009! Classic
Love alchemist so much. Seeing him on tv with action was so good
That last quote in the video probably flew over so many ppls head. “I get emotional when i know its done” I felt that
really felt the soup analogy. that’s exactly what it’s like.
My big brother showed me a video of Alchemist producing a beat with Araab Muzik ages ago. I was a little kid starving for new experiences and seeing Alchemist almost brought to tears by the beauty of the beat produced right in front of him changed me. Changed me forever man... for the better. Today I learned to see what Alchemist saw in that moment... i will forever be grateful for that. Love you Al
The greatest 🐐 Shout-out ALC for the gems.
Al is a deep dude. Aside from his musical genius thats one specia human you can tell.
This man is literally a fucking legend
@ideageneration Post an extended cut, I wanna spend a couple hours with Al in his studio!
He explains his creative process so well
Met him one time during SXSW around the time Prodigy came home from prison. We were watching Freddie Gibbs on stage. I asked him if him and P were working on new joints. He said they were. Good times.
Al, Tim and Missy are the reason I do this
Wow great start to the series! Excited for what's to come!
wow the end is so good, thanks for this 🖤
Amazing. So intuitive. His insight into his process is delightful
Love of beats.. always stays Bright. Thanks
I come back to this video couple times a year. love hearing the master take us into his world
That was articulated so well! ✨🏁
Very grateful for the gems in this video, got me thinking of another way to approach my music. Much love!
Some great takeaways in this video. Amazing creative process!
This is a great video! Great inspiration.
ALC the legend! It's crazy to watch him reveal some of his secrets like this
Al a Goat for sure. Great to learn his process thanks
This just gave me the spark I needed to start cooking up beats and posting again thanks og al
Watching all the way from Vanuatu 😀😁👍🔥🔥🇻🇺🇻🇺🇻🇺
Al is on some crazy streak, living legend
Just saw Al and Boldy at Smokers Club this year and damn was that exactly what I needed!
Between Al and Jake One they’re breakdown of samples is incredible.
One of my favorites Producer The Alchemist ❤
so amazing to see somebody doing exactly what they love and being so successful with it. al is a legend
That part about when the beats finished really resonated…it’s so true
I love that these guys have all stayed with hardware. No mouse clicking. Click a kick here snare there. Thenba hi hat 16th notes. Then grab a midi pack some chord progressions. Then grab some bell samples from splice. Loved it. Real beat making.
That sounded pretentious AF there’s no “real beat making” or fake beat making for that matter. An actual band that plays instruments could call what Alchemist does, “fake beat making”. What’s the difference between clicking a mouse and hitting a rubber pad? The end result of both methods is a beat
@@ukjamaican4488 I agree. It's that wanna be "purist" mindset. Makes people feel special and superior. Funny enough, they can't see their own hypocrisy staring right back at them.
This.

Al is my GOAT for real
I’d enjoy a session with this legend! I’d just sit, roll them up and watch this master at work!!
One of the best producers of all time. everytime i see him making beats or discussing music its just amazing and so inspirational
Its always good to listen to the thought process of how these legendary Producers cook their beats up. You can always learn something new, no matter how long you have been doing it yourself.
love to see a genius at work, you can see him thinking about the sounds and the samples and the tempo and how they can blend. the way his hands twitch before pressing things with precision. You can feel his energy and his readiness to make music. Respect to the Alchemist
I LOVE THIS PROCESS !
Al is cold! Love his beats… Its always interesting to see how different producers cook
this inspired me and i'm grateful
Thank you @ideageneration this video has just given me the biggest 'a ha' moment about my own beats. My music will never sound the same. Just, thank you.
Inspired so many, I can't speak for everybody but the reals appreciate it all. Dead ass.. . . Thank you.
Thank you for making this video!!
dude is raw. man that larry June track you did is magic forever. all the best,
Loved hearing him play him & Freddie Gibbs - Baby $hit in this video for a brief second. Legendary!
Love this episode! 🔥
Loving the food analogies, a real chef cookin it up 👨🏼🍳
There are so many avenues of art and business of the people interviewed. The individual explaining their process would be so great for those who want to start what they do can give us an idea of what to aspire towards
Such an unassuming humble genius
Wish this was longer. Alc is legend man
One of the most talented producers ever, his sound is absolutely unique
This video is great, I love it, Alchemist talks about music at a higher level, sensations and art, and leaves aside the topic of gadgets, plugins and others...
Need more!
Damn, that last bit. Gold. As a painter that's it, well said.
Definitely a genius and totally get the process as that's how I move now. 2-3 patterns of a beat then build on top of the foundation!
Absolute legend and such a sick vid
I feel like I was searching for this video last week & here we have it😁 thanks
the last 5 seconds wow !!! thank y'all 4 this
OG so glad he shares his knowledge.
Great to see him not needing to constantly get faded on camera. More presence in his voice and life in his movements. Beautiful. ❤
Right!!!!!! This man looks like a recovering alcoholic in this video. But I remember back in my amateur producer days, watching videos of Alchemist and Araabmuzik going at it on the MPC.
I’ve steadily been listening to 1st Infantry for the past 6 months while boxing. Never gets old. This dude is one of the reasons I make music today.
Who's coming back here after Meet The Grahams?
The Alchemist is a true artist of sound and soul moving vibe!
Thanks for the upload
1 of the Greatest To Ever Do It!!
That last piece of advice was perfect
Amazing!!!
My favorite series on CZcams.
What a fantastic channel this is!!
Seeing and hearing Alchemist make the beat to "Baby S**t" * (My favorite Freddie Gibbs song), man I just SCREAMED!!!
