    You kill the god of the depths via stabbing the hearts, not by presenting the girl.
    The god is still there, just as an empty corpse until you take the perfect recipient "the girl"

    The sigil of the God of Fear and Hunger is also a Mannaz rune. Which is used to represent humanity and its potential. Depths' sigil is a reversed Raidho rune, which could mean "a bad journey".
    Great video dude!

    The Old Gods are some of the most interesting premises this game has.
    Gro-goroth, Sylvian, Vinushka, Rher, All-Mer, Sulphur, Vitruvia, God of The Depths, God of Fear and Hunger, and Logic.
    The New Gods are honestly so delusional thinking they’d be able to bridge the chasm of a gap between their own capabilities over what the caliber above has displayed in terms of feats, to the universe of Fear and Hunger.

      It's not..Just the unsupported assumption that the method used to create the god of fear & hunger at the end of the 1st game is the ONLY way to surpass the New Gods & ascend, and trying to apply that same logic & method to the other Ascended. Alll-Mer Ascended by separating all his negative qualities into a separate being, the Sulphur God, and that allowed him to ascend absent an Old God's essence. Meanwhile the ENTIRE POINT of the machine god is that it was created purely from human ingenuity without relying on the Old Gods, and approaches that same level of power, representing humans finally achieving independence from them.

  • @kcheinze8694
    @kcheinze8694 Před 17 dny +2

    To refine your theory on Ascended Gods, I don’t think it necessarily means fusing with an Old God to achieve the ‘Ascended’ state but more of taking a portion of an Old God’s power/domain and redefining it into a personification this Ascended being rules over.
    God of Fear and Hunger takes an influence of the God of the Depths idea of the forgotten and suffering, but this time with the crucial purpose of bringing forth the Cruel Age and the mastery over insects transforming into a mastery over vermin as we see in F&H2.
    With Vitruvia’s ambitions of creating a perfect being, birthed the Ascended One ‘All-Mer’ as the embodiment of perfection and unification of humanity.
    Rher’s domain of trickery and seeking the truth in ugly parts brought forth the Ascension and Creation of Logic, as a being that personifies direct consciousness and the true potential of humanity’s advancement within a Digital Age.

  • @williamp8823
    @williamp8823 Před 23 dny +8

    I don’t believe All-mer is fused with Vitruvia since Vitruvia is still mentioned and with Daans medica skills is specifically invoked to repair human forms.
    Secondly The God of Fear and Hunger isn’t necessarily the new form of the god of the depths. Her sphere overlaps a lot with theirs because she took a lot of their power but not all of it. For example the god of the depths has nothing to do with progress and the god of fear and hunger isn’t associated with insects. In fact this is reflected in her new version of mastery over insects, it is now mastery over vermin. I don’t believe we speak with insects in Termina at all, mostly rats and crows. I believe the god of the depths sphere of influence still exists, it is simply much smaller now pertaining specifically to insects and the things people don’t know or remember.
    I do agree that Logic is taking Rher’s power but again I don’t think they are merging. Rher rules over truth, trickery, the subconscious and the moon. Logic seems to rule over truth, the subconscious, technology and human advancement. She shares a lot with Rher but Logic isn’t Rher merged with a human. Rher still has his own sphere of influence, Logic has simply co-opted some of his power.

    Never clicked with me until this video. Because of the Maiden's actions, the Dungeon literally IS the dungeon of Fear and Hunger. It's so cursed and disorienting because we're in the belly of the beast, so to speak.

    The theory about the termina festival is a good point, in the idea that logic specifically has to harness rher's power to ascend, but writing them off as a floating space rock doesn't explain his yet semi-active role in causing both the corruption of moonscorching and directing pocketcat. Not to mention the odd illusion battle at the end
    With Rher's Termina festival being such a discordant and anarchic event it wouldn't make sense for him to merge with Logic, the apex of collectivism and unity.

    god of the depths represents "lower" life forms(who arent capable of coherent thought) thats why its body is entirely physical. a god that represents the higher thought for example the star god wouldnt have a physical body

    like someone else said, you kill the god of the depths by slicing their 3 organs. althrough you could call it a "final" death of sorts with the merging too, so i can vibe with that.
    i hadn't even thought of the others with allmer and logic both merging with their respective gods; esp since rher supposedly doesn't like humanity. but i also like the theory, so im adding that to my belief system
    keep up the great work!

  • @TheReshAleph
    @TheReshAleph Před 20 dny

    I've thought about an old god needed to be sacrificed to create an ascended god before so that makes a lot of sense aense, but i don't really agree with the pairings.
    Obviously, we have the god of the depths dying so the Girl can ascend. In the unedited skin bible we learn that Vinushka is also dead. I think that is the sacrifice for Logic's ascension. It does kina of work thematically that nature dies and is replaced by a computer.
    Im not 100% on All-Mer. In Termina, Black Kalav talks about the Sulfur god being something cast off by All-mer into the sulfur pit. Its unclear to me exactly what it means but i think that could be the god that All-mer used to Ascend was something else BEFORE it was thrown into the sulfer pit and became the sulfer god. What remains of this dead god used by all-mer is now the sulfur god trying to struggle to come back. Hence how all its cultist die and are somehow resurrected to do its bidding.

    Not quite right, I think, on what gods are. Yes they are the forces they govern but are also the very concepts behind those forces. They are the idea of that thing. An idea that is made real by the will of that god. This is why the interactions between man and god always go awry. Gods are the concept and the power. Man is the one who breathes life into the concept. Helping it grow and evolve. Gods are pure beings that hold no conflict within them. Man is a creature of nothing but conflict. Capable of holding all things within it. Can you see why it may be disasterous for the two to mingle? Gods are too pure and force all around them to conform to that purity. Men resist all that would break them down...even gods.
    To go further I believe gods possess the ability to incarnate into things. Possessing them, essentially. Not neccessary for it to be alive but regardless nothing can fully contain the purity of a god and eventually the god will leave the possessed behind. This is the traces we occationally find. I believe Gorgoroth has many such as the lore seems to suggest this god was fond of taking human shape to observe us. And these traces are the key for ascension. You don't need to absorb a god in totality. Just be a good vessal for its power, create a connection, and retain your human ego. Traces are how the connection is made. But it takes extensive preparation to achieve the other conditions. The girl was a demigod born in and left to experience a place strong in the god of the depths influence. But that wasn't enough. She needed to be guided to the very place of power for that being before she could start the process. Meaning someone would have to show her more than fear and hunger. She would need to experience compassion and care. She needed to receive something that would give her will the boost neccessary to take all that the god had to offer and still remain herself. Human. Gods don't just die. They are eternal. But their concepts can stagnate to the point they are irrelevant. Then something can come along that blows a breath of fresh air so those concepts can continue to be vital.

    It's all Jungian man. Rher's realm represents the subconscious self (the shadow) while the physical realm represents the conscious self (the ego) and only when the shadow and the ego are in balance can you achieve perfection ie: godhood. In order for Logic to work it has to exist in both realms together (much like how the Maiden of the Depths pull the God of the Depths out of the shadow and into the Ego). It's why the telectroscopes exists in both realms - they help connect the two realms together.
