In once surprised my boi munching under an apple tree that was OUTSIDE the fence. He not only rolled under a wooden fence but also e-wire, he was a fjord, so his mane was a natural protection to all predatory e-wires. The moment he realized I was coming he got the biggest shock. They really know what is outside and inside of a fence. He also was able to ram his way in a stoic way through all doors. The horse of my friend on the other hand, didn't even cross a dead white band lying on the ground.

Tiny is overstimulated by the super magical ginormous Purr machine. You might consider changing the name of your place to Entitled Turd Acres. These guys have turned into juvenile delinquents! I look forward to the video where you catch them smoking behind the barn! 🤣

I remember one night my parents woke me up at 1am to tell me my horse was trotting down the road as they passed him on the way home from a party, so I had to get up fetch some cow cake which is quite hard and rattly, to rattle in a tin bucket and go and find him, when I did he had taken all the small ponies that were in the field with him, so there were five of them, they were right at the top of a massive field [this is the UK] so I just shut the gate and went back the next day to lead them all home, all the little ponies followed him, he was such a naughty boy!

Naughty horses are the smart ones. I had bought my first horse, a half Arabian, half unknown. He was delivered to the boarding barn in the evening. The stalls all had just a simple latch on the doors. Well he knew how to open a simple latch so in the late evening when everyone had left he let himself out of the stall. Then he went around and introduced himself to all the other horses and while he was at it he let them out too. The owner arrived in the morning to a herd of horses loose in the barn. When I arrived he was in his stall and the stall had a double lock on it. The owner was not pleased.

I got my grey mare bc she was such a trouble maker!! My horse 4-H leader owned her & Lady just broke all the electric fences & All the animals; horses, pigs, cows would run everywhere..
My 4-H leader told my parents how would you like a horse?! She'd come from WY so she was tough.
Ten yrs later I got an OTTB, another smart horse..
They both made me a better rider! Especially the young TB!!

She's mentioned how she got Huckleberry in a previous video. While CC worked as a vet tech Huck came in with some severe injuries (broken bones, etc) and his owners couldn't afford the bill so CC bought him from the owners, got him fixed up and he's been with her ever since.

  • @sherinnovak729

When my horse was five he had to have surgery for a bladder stone. I bought him from his breeder, who raised all their horses outside - they didn’t even have a barn. Consequently, Holiday detested being kept in a stall. He was in the veterinary hospital for several days, and when I picked him up his toes were worn down from standing at the stall door and pawing. When I got him home and put him in a stall, he had a fit about it. I had a smallish paddock and I electric-fenced the bottom of it off so it was about 14’ X 20’. He could be outdoors, but not run around and hurt himself. Every week I moved the fence back a few feet until he was cleared to go back out into the pasture. This worked very well for my horse.

Hi,.i'm a new subscriber from Australia (73 yr old). I've had little to none association with horses, but love all animals especially those that have made our life easier in the early times. Can you relate to me what you are doing in rescuing these horses, that in itself is amazing. Close to where i live there is a (farm) that takes unwanted horse and train them, with the help of young people who want to ride, each given their own horse to love and relate to and become friends with. Teaching young people how to care for these beautiful and often discarded animals. Please reply. You know why you are doing this wonderful thing to save beautiful horses that might very much end up where we will not discuss. Keep doing the great work. Your old friend in Australia Al.

That Thera Plate gadget produces vibrations. Cat's purrs are vibrations. It has also been shown that cats purr to manage pain and soothe themselves. Purring is a soft buzzing sound, similar to a rolled 'r' with a fundamental frequency of around 25 Hz.
Maybe the Thera Plate gadget feels like a giant purring machine, and your cat does not want to share it with others... Maybe...

Horses are ten times stronger than humans they work best via cooperation. How a human and horse work this out is more an art than a particular set of rules.
“One horsepower is a unit of power that equals the work done in lifting 550 pounds one foot in one second. One manpower = a unit of power based on the rate at which a man can work; approximately 75 watts, or about one tenth of a horsepower. In other words, it takes ten strong men to do the work of one horse.”

So nice to hear that Studman is okay, thanks to you. The boys escaping! Little Gus is the ringleader."Yay! We're FREE!" Kicking up the heels! Well, until they got hungry. 🤣😅 I just LOVE your videos and your horses. I love horses but can't have any, so I get vicarious pleasure from your herd. This is so funny and cute. The sneaking back under the wire! Huckleberry is smart to be afraid of a badger! I have such a soft spot for Nigel. Thank you for saving him and giving him his best life.❤❤

Two "parters in crime" escaping together! I bet they get fiesty when the weather warms up. Sounds like me, let me out! haha And we don't have near the temperatures that you do here in GA. Poor Huckleberry, always watching out for Tiny. She seems like she's wanting to be Boss! haha Thanks for sharing another great video! You work so hard, and they are loving you for it!❤❤

It makes me laugh a lot.
    Keep it up. 😂😂❤

I don’t normally like videos with voice over… but I really enjoy your videos. Your narrations are informative, storytelling is on point, and I smile at your characterizations of the animals. I had horses when I was young, got hurt, started training dogs instead. The last 20 years or so, I have been clicker training my dogs to teach them to help me as service dogs. When you talked of Skelator needing more brain work on the walks, consider clicker training him to do tiny tricks as you walk. Target stick, curl his lip, etc., and you could reward with fresh grass if not treats of some kind. Now that I am disabled and can’t do as much with my dogs, I use brain work with them.

Hahaha! The escapees are so funny. Have you thought about getting a hot walker for Skeletor? Walking hobbles might be a good idea. They prevent the hopping and kicking, but they're not popular. If you can find someone to teach you how to make and use them humanely, they do keep injured horses from hurting themselves more.

I know a mare that figured out that her heavy blankets buffeted the shock from the hot wire. She and her pasture mate worked together to sneak out and took off like Thelma and Louise. 😂 Horses are much smarter than people think.

Huckleberry is so sensitive but it's cute. Cats do seem to take the opportunity to dominate if given the chance. I see that with my 15 yr old cat and 100 pd dog.

I ended up making a 'necklace of forgetfulness ' that I kept on the water faucet. I would put on when I started the water so I would remember to go turn it off again. I had left it running all night. Yikes

I enjoy listening to your show and seeing the horses. I am old now but used to work at a racetrack in south Florida and also after that, worked for a group of veterinarians who worked at the racetracks in south Florida back in the early '70's. The head vet actually did a little surgery on Secretariat. I miss horses so much. I'm still in Florida but will move to northwestern SC to be with our two grandsons. We need to "buy" them a back yard because our daughter's house hardly has one. Thanks for your show.

Sis, this has been sticking in my brain since I first started watching your channel. Skelator seems to have the horsenality of a left brain extrovert. Now, I am NOT advocating a certain trainer, you are exceptional at this! I do see the idea of different types of horse behavior linking to their personality. I pick and choose from different individuals their techniques and am always trying to learn something new to help my animals. Watching your channel is always refreshing and real. Keep going on your journey and remember you now have thousands of supporters!

I loved the thought bubbles for the horses. In fact I think I will go back and watch that portion after I read all the comments. I really enjoy your commentary on the horses and your explanations of what you are doing and why. I think background stories on all your animals would be awesome. Thanks for the videos and showing the horses with their cute mash mustaches.
