This is straight up one of the best SNL cold opens I've ever seen. The camerawork, pacing, acting, writing, metaphor, everything was totally on point. Absolutely brilliant.
It was all a Top Shelf Production. True Political Satire, of which none of the Baldwin stuff is.
I honestly feel like Cecily has the acting chops to play a serious drama role

Every now and again Saturday Night Live has a moment where it transcends a sketch into a social and political commentary that is beyond compare. This was one of them.

To me the current state of American politics is, as many have observed, akin to a reality soap. The Russia investigation, whether you think it is justified or not, is part of a due process, but is being turned into daily soap installments. This sketch takes not so much a swipe at Trump, but at the blind believe that Robert Mueller or Donald Trump are the perfect "Candidates", "Bachelors", "Prince Charmings", who will solve all of the countries problems or the ones associated with your point of view. There is a danger, that if everything needs to be presented as entertainment, be it to the left or the right of center, it will lose its most important values. Just like love is in danger of being cheapened, if it is filtered through the voyeuristic lense of a trashy TV show.
In the words of John Adams: "Let us tenderly and kindly cherish therefore, the means of knowledge. Let us dare to read, think, speak, and write ." And not merely dilute social and political responsibilities to feed primary emotions and self-righteousness.

This was one of the greatest SNL skits because it's all meat and no bones. Phenomenal writing and the two best cast members just working their magic. Incredible.

Swan Ronsen well, as very obvious and kind of dumb as that comment is, I was referring to the fact that the more people shit on Trump and his supporters, the more drive people will have to support Trump. That was the same drive that got Trump elected over Hillary. If Republicans feel the left continues to go down the idiotic path its been going down, Republicans will have more drive to vote Republican in the next election. That being Trump. If powerful liberals were smart, they would stop trying to make fun of him every two seconds and start talking about other things, so when he fails, it doesn't feel like hes the underdog and under insane amount of scrutiny. Unfortunately, the left is to arrogant to do something so tactically intelligent so they would much rather continue making fun of him and putting him under constant scrutiny to make him look to the average American like the real victim in this situation

Butterfly Massacre most of the Components of Japanese cars are made in the USA, do your research. More recently they have plants in Mexico and Canada too, with most steel sourced from the US. Prices will go up but not significantly.

The CTB Channel so Donald Trump did a lot of things that count as “obstruction of justice” such as asking comey to stop investigating Flynn, firing comey for not stopping the Flynn investigation, bragging to Russian officials that he fired comey because of the Russian investigation, saying on television that he fired comey because of the Russian investigation, constantly undermining the investigation against him and overall acting like a guilty person because... he was innocent?
Trump is dumb, but I don’t think he would incriminate himself to the one crime Presidents were impeached for for nothing.

All of Those indictments and guilty pleas have everything to do with how the whole thing went down and where the motivations were coming from...it’s building blocks, you can’t tell where it all ties in until all the facts are out publicly...what we clearly already know is that it DEFINITELY all ties in together to bring about what happened (in secret-or an effort to keep it secret) that got Donald Trump into the WH. Here’s a hint based on what’s already known...it’s way worse than you think...it’s a very long and extensive plan engineered by Putin and Trump. I’m willing to wager heavily on Mueller finding and making Trump accountable for conspiracy AGAINST the USA.
