French DBFZ meta has been 6 months ahead of the rest of the world for a while now. It's so fresh and interesting, and you see nearly the whole roster played.
Yeah, Im from north america but I gotta admit that the meta here is traditional, everyone picks top 5 character and thats it, its all kid buus, A21s , UI gokus, Z brolys and Basegetas. We have some exceptions of course but for the most part is just top tiers.
And in EU you see the vegito army, the keflas, the Hits, and wawa and kyden doing whatever the hell they want playing the whole cast, its so spicy

French/ Spain Meta has always been more exciting imo, because theyre the only ones who branch out. Especially back in season 2-3 where everyone in NA and JP basically cycled the same 5 characters as stated above, your Kid Buu, Ratenks, GT, Bardock, and SSJ, its so refreshing to see the other fusions, Cooler Frieza and the other characters that dont get played as often.

He didn't even need a hit, if he reacted fast enough to an assist while the other player was doing a move that couldn't be cancelled into vanish the assist character would've been gone.

When you run those assists, it's pretty easy to land. Reynald got at least one every game vs Cloud offline

I’ve never seen anyone dominate using a strategy like that with ss4. That shit is genius, I don’t understand why people are mad at wawa for using that, he lost anyway meaning HE CAN be stopped. So far he’s the only player that’s skilled enough to use that on kyden. But that was amazing from both sides, I would be mad not at the fact he’s dominating with that ss4 strategy but that I haven’t figured out how to stop it.

It's a really good block stun and combo the only way I see to stop it is play aggro with zoning and your own block stuns while trying not to get even blocked stun if his assest are up

I hope this game gets a hotfix soon. At 15:42 kyden got a guard cancel vanish bug which cost him 2 bar instead of 1. It could’ve potentially cost him a kill and the set if he had gotten like a 236s confirm on wawa.

When they invented this character's gameplay they were probably looking at MvC3's Phoenix and going "we can do better than that."
They're acting like every player just goes out with Gogeta and builds a level 7 on any damn hit. Bro, shut the hell up and compliment Wawa for that because it's 4 months ago and this is still the only time I ever saw such a strategy with Gogeta.
This Grand Finals alone has given me about 6 new Tyrant sound FX samples for editing & overall memeing. Every time Ty has a meltdown at some forbidden schmixture it's the gift that keeps on giving. Thanks Wawa lmao
This team reminds me of Chun Li/Morrigan/Phoenix in Marvel 3. (The Wawa SS4 Gogita) As long as the 3 team structure isn't interrupted, it WILL kill a char eventually. Once the Chun Li/Phoenix team gets 5 bars, you pretty much auto win unless you play very heavy anti-phoenix tech. Looks similar here.
Tragic though cause once SSJ4 Gogeta touches you and he has both those assists available, he basically loads the shotgun and you're about to have a character die. Not only does that move enable him to build levels toward his instant kill, it also gives him bar. So that the next time he touches a character they're going to die... period. And he can do this off any touch with this team, it's dangerous.
On top of that, Gogeta pressure is somewhat difficult to deal with. His mixup is real, his normals have high priority, accompanied by deceptively long hitboxes. And then when all else fails, he has a decent counter he can throw out. Man's a super high threat on any slot on the team and that's kinda rare this season, lol.
Kyden is the best in Europe right now. Never seen a stronger teen Gohan with that kind of movement. He's now stronger than wawa, no doubt about it.

Wawa is playing the whole cast and having fun with many team, but if you talk about who is best fighting games player in term of execution, movement, reaction Wawa is an absolute beast. Wawa is a guy who can compete with best Japanese in term of execution, I remember when he was like 10 and playing kof13 at high lvl. A true genius. Kyden is a beast to we all agree with that but Wawa is pure entertainment.

Also, regarding the ban worthiness: ik they were probably just overly excited and stressed watching the Gogeta 4 1-shots, but definitely don't think what Wawa was doing was ban worthy. The team's strat is reliant on Gogeta 4 to a fault. The second a single character is gone, the team is extremely beatable compared to other teams that are optimized to be more balanced.

You have to build around that. Anytime you beat a character you cripple Gogeta’s ability to safely Level Up. Those assists allow him to level up like crazy, you gotta rush him down to stop that shit

Reynald from west coast USA has been doing this strategy with gogeta-krilin-roshi team since the character release.
It's actually a relief Wawa lost in the finals because if he actually won tournaments with that team consistently, Gogeta would get nerfed like hell.
maybe, but since this happened in a tournament and he did like 2 lv7 that free maybe they are going to twek a bit some of the gargantuan hitboxes so that combo is not possible to do.
or maybe add new synergies between characters so there's alot more variety.

DBFZ has always been really accessible since you can throw together a team of your favorite characters and not worry too much about synergy, but now that the game's maturing I think it could use some of the "famous" teams a la Mahvel. Upon watching this twice, I feel like the best counter strategy to Wawa would be to get Gogeta off screen as much as possible. He builds levels the fastest with Gogeta comboing and if you take out his assists he loses 2 to 4 finish signs per combo

Vegetto ain't that interesting to be honest, his coolest options are the energy sword and air grabs and only high skilled players are able to use it to the max outside of combos. Gogeta though? That mf is crazy, he got everything someone could want and more.

I know when team MikeZ in mvc2 touched you on the ground it was instant death for sentinal. Team nemo was pretty bonkers too if nova is able to tag into strange while spencers assist was available and it didn't matter if you have 0 bars (also spencer and nova could do some aituational hard taags too).
