- I'm working on a costume from one of my favorite animes: Sailor Moon! Sailor Pluto was always my favorite of all the scouts and I loved staff weapon design. Here I walk you through how I put her awesome time keeper staff together using a 3d printed model that you can purchase from the etsy store linked below. Hopefully this will give you an idea of how to put this kit together, what's involved, and inspire you to create your own prop build.

What’s funny is I just bought the off print staff from rawrbomb (think I bought the very last one in stock actually) and he directed me to your video and I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video since placing the order! I actually just added the spot putty last night and plan to do the final sanding and then prime and paint the next day I have off :) your video is amazing and rawrbomb did great with this 3d print build!

@@Atheeni I know diameter wise you used a 1 inch wooden dowel but how long was your dowel? I’m going crazy trying to find one for my prop build
@@SalazzleDazzle I had to special order mine from my local hardware store but it was 6 feet long. They only had 4 foot ones in the actual store but offered the 6 foot ones on special order. I bought mine from Home Hardware if that helps? I'm pretty sure it's a Canadian only store though.

Great tutorial and where did buy the wooden dowel?
Just the hardware store, my local one is called Home Hardware and they just special ordered the dowel for me. Home Depot and Lowe's has them too.
Lowes! Ask for the "wooden closet dowels"
How tall was the key staff after you completed it?
6' 1/2" (184cm) tall. It was a pretty big staff which worked well for me since I'm really tall.
Hi! I'm super new to cosplay and I have 3d prints of the rod but some of them are too tight to fight over my wooden dowel. Do you have any advice as to how I can still make it work or suggestions of what I should l do? Thanks in advance =)
Ooof ya that will happen unfortunately since 3d printing will be a little inconsistent. If you have access to a rotary tool (like a Dremel) you can use a sanding bit to try and smooth out the inside hole so it will fit your dowel. Otherwise the next best option would be to get a smaller dowel and use a bit of foam inside the holes to "fill" in the gap so that the dowel doesn't wobble inside the pieces. Hope that helps a bit!

The Garnett Orb is the talisman….. it would be much cooler if the orb can come off instead of just the rod.

Erm, well my if you mean at Anime North then probably... But I've never been to Anime Expo.
@@Atheeni ah, was just wandering. I heard a cosplayer last year was dressed as Pluto, and some volleyball anime cosplayers accidentally smashed her staff in two with their ball. Seriously a truamatic experience. But they did apologize and took her to cosplay repair. Hopefully it was somewhat recoverable.

It's getting there. I took a little break from CZcams (and honestly a lot of things) to heal and reconfigure my life and am now just hitting the ground again. You got this too! Do the scary thing and follow your passion!
