- A quick first look at the Cessna C510 Mustang by Cockspur in Microsoft Flight Simulator - taking it for a test flight around Oxford airport in the UK. We start from cold and dark, and take it for a simple circuit (making several navigation howlers along the way). Enjoy!

while im not a mustang pilot either, I think typically you would run the starters till 20% ng and THEN uncage the throttles, much like the DCS hornet or the H-jet, as it adds fuel for ignition to take place once the turbines are spining. Looking forward to this one, great review as always
Makes sense. Like the 737.
As always, useful information... It's fun to listen to you, you have a nice and calm voice that acts as a sedative medicine.👍
Thank you so much!
Looks nice, I will probably end up getting it thanks, buddy! 👍
Glad I helped :)
Another nice "quickie" review Jonathan. Interesting aircraft, just hoping they might have fixed a few things by now. Might be me, but I found too much noise in the cabin, at times drowning out your comments, a lot more noise than the Honda jet and the Cirrus, just my opinion of course, but a nice little aircraft. Looking forward to an update model.
I will totally buy this plane, seems really nice. Maybe show a little more external views next time mate, I would of loved to hear some exterior engine sounds on this one.
I will do a proper route with it next time.
Great glad you found it.
Me too! lol
brillant video as usual
Cheers
This is a brilliant little plane in my opinion
It is good.
Beats gluing prop cross country for hours on end lol
Thank you for the video, as always a great one. Would you know if anyone has set up the Bravo and Honeycomb yoke yet for this aircraft ? It sure would be helpful for a lot of pilots I would guess. Thank you again.
If you join the virtualflight.online discord server, you can ask the question in the #support channel - I'm sure somebody will soon :)
Thanks for the video, I had this version back several years ago with FS2000 it was so nice but seemed a bitter than this one from Cockspur, The alt adjustment is awfully slow and takes forever to go from 2000 ft to 15K have you noticed and found a cure? No RNAV support either which is too bad. Is there a guide that you know of from the author that explains how to get all the feature operational? By the way, the engine noise in the video is drowning out your narration. Thanks
Excellent, thank you. A little suggestion if I may, maybe you should adjust your voice over to match the background sounds (more voice volume I meant 🙂)
Yeah - I'm always experimenting to make the voice come through better. Sometimes it works better than others.
Great video, thank you. What’s your take on this versus the Hondajet in msfs?
They are made by the same developer :) They're at a similar level.
@@jonbeckett thanks!
Yes there is a pilots manual in folder resources, it’s not to bad plenty of information.
I finally found it the other day - it's odd that they put it there. Most aircraft have a documentation folder in the root of the aircraft folder.
I used to fly the Flight1 Citation Mustang in FSX and P3D. It took me some time to figure out how brilliantly done it was. The sounds and flight model (with some tweaks) made it so solid. It had a real feel to it for its time...a feeling of flying that I've rarely seen in the sim. You clicked a switch and it felt kind of significant...a solid click. Everything but the breakers worked. I have no idea how many hours I had in it.
This one by Cockspur has potential, definitely a step up in the graphics but, it looks like they really need to focus on the sounds and systems. The sounds...listen to the sounds at engine start on this RW video...the switches...the clunk of the throttle lever...czcams.com/video/Pxd86tk38VQ/video.html. Also, turn icing on and it should affect the volts and amps, and engine power should degrade. The essential elements are there. I noticed that they're up to 1.0.6 now. Very curious about how it's coming along.
Yep - they're continuing to work on it.
Are you using the windows key to switch between MSFS and Little Navmap? I am having problems with this function. Are you still in full screen view in MSFS?
Alt+tab
Very similar to the Hjet but prefer the G1000 NXi. Working Title will be working on the G3000 - soon, I hope. This jet is faster than the Honda, I noticed. The stuttering though; they need to fix that. Nice jet though.
The stuttering may well be my simulator.
I can only fly it on xbox...slow and major stuttering at low alt. on my older gaming pc
Great run through, enjoyed it but I found your video very juddery at times, possibly your frame rates dropping off due to high graphics setting within the sim?
Bugs in MSFS servers, aircraft, and multiplayer. I have since stopped loading in any other assets than the ones I am using, and rarely get any issues.
@@jonbeckett I had a similar issue but my problem was that I had not matched the frame rate that I use within MSFS to that of the production video after editing, eg, both set at 30fps.
There is a manual. It's in the folder structure of the files you receive. I must say though, it isn't much help.
I'll go check.
Thanks for the basic intro.
You're welcome :)
Is that Payware Oxford airport?
Yes - I said as much during the flight.
Could be wrong but there is documentation for this plane in the Discord
I'll take a look - thankyou!
Good morning,
Is this a default plane?
No. It's a payware add-on.
Is it true the keypads for the G1000 don't work?
No idea - haven't looked at it for a while :)
The stutter....ohh the stutter!
I rebooted afterwards, and the stuttering vanished (shakes fist at Microsoft)
Yes, framerate looked terrible. Would like to be sure it will be flyable before buying…
@@j3gm0194 my older pc does 3 payware but on the Mustang...bad stuttering so I run it on my Xbox. Will have to check up on my pc settings...maybe turn some lower
How’s the vnav and Lnav?
LNAV works fine. I haven't tried VNAV. I'm also not impressed that the outside view craters the frame-rate on my installation of MSFS.
It’s the g1000nxi, so brilliant
Anyone having major FPS loss with this aircraft?
No - it's been fine for me.
My older pc I can fly the Arrow, Mooney Ovation and Kodiak100 but the Mustang has major stuttering. I can only fly it in Xbox S
Can this game be played in android device? pls reply
No
@@jaheemfingal7475 But I have seen videos in you tube where they are playing Microsoft flight simulator in Android device,
No. MSFS is a Windows application.
Glass cockpit is just a turnoff... sorry!
whats that
@@locosk8er They're talking about the G1000's vs a more traditional steam gauge setup like the Bae 146.
I would like to see a steam gauge setup for a business jet as well.
It's interesting in it's own right though - I'll do a full work-up of a flight plan soon in the G1000nxi to show people how to do it. It's not very obvious as soon as you involve procedures.
i like a combination of both. For example a cockpit style like the PC12 addon by carenado. The bae 146 is too much work.
Follow protocol, meh, don't think so
Heh :)
@@jonbeckett I bought it but find all the buttons to be rather "small". Not like in my Piper Arrow.
i would appreciate a auto pilot check. with a flight plan. i fly for 4 hours at a time. i have arthritis and it is painful for me to hand fly for 4 hours. or maybe you do not have the knowledge.. maybe you just want us to buy a plane that does not really work.
oh do shut up you whinging git.. he's been honest and open about issues. the video says its a first look.!! there are other reviews freely available without having to knock him for his knowledge. Do your homework , wait ,look elsewhere and stop expecting everything in one place.. Because you'll only whine if somethings wrong. Honestly , so bloody priveleged.
Did you notice me take off and engage autopilot? I know how the G1000 works inside out - this was just a quick first look. I will record a full flight when I get a chance.
I use the autopilot frequently too but Jason doesn’t need to go over the G1000 NXi. We know it works. It’s now the default G1000 in the sim.
Agree with Gumper Van Lier
Next time, maybe pay a little more attention Donald - maybe you just want us to buy a plane that does not really work, unnecessary comment
