Which would you say is best between the MJ609 and the RN3000, they are currently both the same price in th eUK?

They both produced very similar brightness on the trail, if you want longer lasting the the 906s will be the choice with the external battery pack. For me I go to the RN 3000 for simplicity and convenience. It still has plenty of battery life for my rides so no need for the extra faff of attaching a battery to the bike. If you want brighter the 6500 is absolutely killer
