GJ Motorsports 3rd Brake Light (Gen2 Raptor) Install

  • One of your best options for trail lighting and a replacement for the third brake light on the Gen2 Raptor, or any of the trucks that GJ makes those brackets for.
    Coupled with Baja Designs S2 lights, it doesn't get any better for proper lighting. I chose the option that comes with the NMO antenna mount. I added 2 S2 Sport Ambers and One S2 Wide Cornering clear as a reverse light.
    If you have any questions about the product or installation instructions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or one of my team members.

    Awesome video. The hardest part of my install was not knowing what to do. This video will help out. I would like to add that I zip tied the wires back around the air bag so the wires wouldn't interfere with a deployment.

    My apologies; The bracket is made out of billet aluminum. Wanted to make sure I clarified that.

    How in the heck do you wire the antenna???? All videos antenna just magically wires it’s self. 😳

    Really appreciate your instructional videos. Was considering one of these lights during the Black Friday deals, but held off because I was reluctant to blindly tear into the interior. Quick question, how are you routing the antenna wire to the radio?

    • @OffroadAlliance
      @OffroadAlliance  Před 4 lety +1

      adam0311 it runs along the harness. They are put together when routing. All as a bundle. Then you run the last section to where you want to install your radio.

    Thanks for the video. In the still picture at mark: 17:39 it shows a lot of the light hitting the bed of the truck instead of the ground. Would you recommend going with a tighter beam after running them for almost two years?

    Were you able to utilize your center like as a "cargo" light AS WELL AS wire it up to an aux switch? I'm wanting to have my center light(white) come on same as my stock cargo light does when I unlock the truck, or press the cargo button in bed of truck. But, I also would like to turn on whenever I want to visit the Aux switch #5 inside my truck. I've been told this is impossible, but then seen what appears to be others having it setup that way

    Instead of removing the covers from the S2's,can you place the gasket on top instead of removing -leaving the covers on

    • @OffroadAlliance

      Santiago Martinez then you won’t have a proper seal.

    Are the red lights your brake lights? Or can you get the center mount as the brake light?

    Did you put the weather striping on the vehicle or the mount? I put it on the mount and feel like it didn't seal 💯 on the top.
    Thanks again for the super fast shipping installed this weekend and love it.

      If you see silverback raptor’s install video, he put the gasket on the truck early in the install, suggesting it goes on the truck first. I’d appreciate explicit clarification on this too. Hoping to install mine this week.

      @@healyp I found it harder to try to align it the gasket on the vehicle. It left a small gap on the right side of the gasket so I placed a bead of cocking (You can't even see it).

    The white wire with the Red tip. Also known as the “Reverse” wire. Were did you tap into that wire at? I was hoping someone would show us. I haven’t seen any pics on any of the Raptor forums or youtube videos.

    • @OffroadAlliance
      @OffroadAlliance  Před 4 lety +1

      Banksy you hook it up the same way the amber lights are setup. You choose a wire from the set in your kick panel, clip the white one to it and make sure you select the same color wire under the hood and connect it to the aux switch you want to use for it.

    May I know why you hooked up the wires to Aux switch? It should turn on the white light automatically when it reversed and the amber lights should turn on when the doors are open. I'm just curious what's the aux is for... :)

    That's NOT the air bag attached to the trim, that is sound deadener, sorry, your video lost all cred with me, maybe if I continue watching, I can see installation with scotch locks.....smh.... never mind, I watched the whole thing, just because you have tools and think you can wire stuff up, please don't, you jammed wires in a butt connector with too much stripped off, left 1/8-3/16 hanging out, and you can shrink or tape it, but if you do the job correctly, you don't need to do either. On a good day, that's a hack job, a bad day.... a fire. I am amazed that people think you did a good job. Next week, maybe you can dabble into house wiring? This is the crap that gets people hurt or killed.
