Fun fact: The mayor of tsushima awarded the game director of this game as the ambassador of their island knowing how he embraced the Japanese culture and it's beauty despite being from the West,
Unlike AC shadows, they're just doing it to tick boxes for the sake of their agenda and don't care about their Japanese culture and disrespecting their heritage, What Ubisoft is doing is pandering and desecrating their history for rewriting it while sucker punch is honoring and respecting it.

Jin was not a Ronin. He was the Lord of Clan Sakai. To prove this he often looks down upon *actual* ronin like the straw hats. You could make an argument that he is one after his Clan is disbanded.

GoT was too safe and just did a very standard story and gameplays style
TLOU2 story is dogshit, but the graphics and gameplay are pretty stellar. In my opinion, Ghost of Tsushima should've been game of the year in all honesty.

Because in May 2024 the long-awaited PC version finally came onto the market and so a large number of new players have been won or can be won and of course they first have to be excited by advertising and videos like this. Playstation players have of course long since left this phase behind when the original game version was first puiblished in 2020 for PS4 and 2021 for PS5.

Man what a game, I kept telling everyone i know how its been the best Single player game I've experienced in over a decade. Every side story or event was an experience of its own that you don't want to miss. a true Masterpiece.
yuriko side quests had me crying dude, also many side quest are around themes of modern day stuff but just with a twist to make it fit in wich I rlly like.
I love all the hype this game is receiving once again. It deserves all the attention and awards.

@@alexk9295you know what would be cool a game named demon of japan made by sucker punch studio,in the game We could play as a Samurai who wants to get revenge on shogun,lord shimura and jin sakai for slaughtering his clan because they had strong samurais and the shogun was afraid they would overthrow him,he could have demon stance which would be stronger than ghost stance
Hijikata Toshi did a wonderful job voicing Jin that I still remember that cry Jin made with his uncle in his dying arms. This is the second most emotional scene I got into a video game, next to FFXV's last camp scene and Noct's ascension..

I just bought a ps5 2 months ago so i have recently beaten this game for the 1st time. Its a masterpiece, cant wait for part 2. This game puts recent assassin's creed games to shame.

I have also read that this samurai code of honor glorified in films and games is more of a myth and does not correspond to the reality of the time, because the samurai also were "just" special trained soldiers who wanted to be victorious by any means necessary.
they are also born into that role by bloodline. Others can be dubbed retainers but "Samurai" families are bloodline.

@@MrJueKa That's the whole reason the Shinsengumi were murdered after the Shogun were done using the peasants as replacement militia after the Shogun and samurai clans were appaulled by how easily overwhelmed they were by portuguese and foreign gunpower. Ronin like Miyamoto Musashi had a strong foundation of doing whatever it takes to win, which probably inspired Jin's Ghost persona while Royal Samurai like Sasaki Kojiro were the ref for his Jin identity. Blood or Ideals? Entitlement or Justice? That's what this game brings to the table.

Love Ghost always wanted a grounded Samurai game. But last or us 2 has really Top Notch Ai, Physics animations, Mocap, Motion matching, a good stealth system and a story that has not really been done in gaming were you play as two sides who are neither right or Wrong.
A truly excellent game that should be played with Japanese speech (with English subtitles for most of us) for maximum immersion.

With this shot, I see why in Japan they like so much the cowboy / western style. Or even the Mariachi hat with a sarape or poncho.
It looks similar to the style of the samurai with their straw hat (or idk exactly what is it) and their full equipment while on duty.
I'm 99% sure the kasa (straw hats) existed before mariachi hats/sombreros lol
I played it through 4 times, it is the best rpg. I loved the Witcher 3, Cyberpunk, and Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon.
I played the game and I found out that actually it is pronounced "Tushima" rather than " Sushima". It is the most beautiful game I have ever played.

Are you sure? I figured it was "Tsu" rather than it being "su" or "tu". I'm pretty sure we don't have the sound "Ts" in English so people just pronounce it as "Su" instead. It's like how other languages don't have "sh" as a pronunciation.
Its just Tsushima... you pronounce the Tsu by basically putting the tip of your tongue right behind your top teeth and then saying su... when you try it shouldn't sound like su but rather you should hear a small T sound. Although its hard to describe just using text lol
Hollywood isn't competing with a lot of Playstation exclusives currently. Even when Hollywood attempts to remake the exclusives in live action, they still aren't competing. God of War deserves multiple Oscars.

Yes the game is really good. But if you think Hollywood can't compete you have no clue what movies that are released every year. You get at least 3 to 5 movies like this every year. In fact the entire game takes story beats from allot of renown movies. The opening seen is directly taken from a movie called Harakiri from 1962.
Maybe gamers don't watch the great movies. I almost never feel that a game is on par with the great movies story wise, character wise, acting wise.

Game narratives that include "just put the controller down and shut off the game" never works. Especially in rail shooters like Spec Ops: The Line. Perhaps aborting a questionable side quest is possible but you paid for the game and want to play the game. It's dirty.
Hollywood can’t even compete with phone games, actually even phone games can have better stories than most AAA games these days. That Hollywood poison that ruins things like Star Wars is slowly leaking through into the gaming industry. All that said yes GoT is one of those rare gems.

Ehhh I don't know. It is a truly amazing game. I played it last week for the first time and am now on my second playthrough. I really love the gameplay and gameworld. I wouldn't give it any oscar for its story though. Stories and characters in games are (almost) never on the same level as great novels, movies and series imo.
I feel story is good open world is good but both story and Open world are not the best of the best Combat is top notch though.

It's a great game that I had tons of fun with, but imo, the story isn't uniquely impressive. It's very competent writing, and the game design is basically an optimisation of the AC/Ubisoft formula, but it's not remotely groundbreaking imo.

Completely agree. Loved my time playing, especially the vistas and overall presentation but the story, although decent, isn't that spectacular. I feel people are just so used to mediocre garbage coming out of Holywood these days, that anything above average is seen as outstanding.

While this is great marketing. It’s more just a Kurosawa ode. I get the game is heavily influenced by the big K. But most folks already know the history and greatness of the legendary filmmaker. I wanted to know more about the game itself. You know. Cause this is a game channel.
The gameplay was way better than the story.. I'd say the story was mid... You've way better stories in many video games.
I feel story is good as is the open world but these aspects are by far the weak link.

I mean it's pretty alright. Game is pretty fun if not a bit too easy, Scenes tend to drag at times and it's historically innacurate. I really love this game, but don't you're just glazing.

it's not fully accurate but it's sort like Red dead which takes from real history but also takes from classic westerns. Ghost takes from history and classic Eastern movies.
