Dan Barker is the co President of the Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF) (ffrf.org/). He is talking about his latest book "God: The most unpleasant character in all of fiction". He also informs the audience about FFRF's work in Texas to protect church state separation after a lively religion debate the previous night.
I read the whole bible in three years word for word, and decided I didn’t like God of the bible and didn’t want to live forever under his rule...
I'm an atheist. A hardcore atheist. But sometimes I read the bible. It's an interesting story book but I can't understand how anyone can believe that it's true

Can you imagine if Dan Barker was still a Christian we as an Atheist group would have to face him? Compared to him us Atheist would really seem angry and irritable while he's so funny and likable.

it's ok to read the bible but the problem starts when you live by it.
