John was able to keep his high end well over the years. Oh the fun times back in the 70's when these guys plus REO plus Finchley Boys plus Hound dog Moses. All for free or donation when they all started out. Looking back we were so spoiled to have all that great music in Champaign Il. The home base of so many bands back in the day.
When I started reading your comment I automatically thought of Illinois. I was in school at the time and all of the groups and more would play at the Red Lion and a couple of other places I don't remember now. And you are so right at the time we didn't know what we had for almost nothing. The beer was cheaper too... 35 cents a mug or $1.50 for a pitcher......LOL Some of the best times of my life. The girls at college were incredible as well.

Saw a band named Freewheelin' out of Champaign in 79-80. Any chance you heard of those guys. They were a cover band , but they were excellent.

Had to come back......All of a sudden it's '79 and We're at the Brat Stop....I wish I had a time machine.....
